RJ Thoughts On: Sting, Mick Foley, Jeff Jarrett, Bobby Lashley!
I wanted to give time to think about what happened at Lockdown. But man, what a crazy PPV that was! I can't believe the aftermath of it. Now, forgive me, but I didnt see all of Impact last night, just the begining and the end, and something in the middle. Let me give you my thoughts:
Sting being Broken: I think that TNA did a real good thing here. Showing Sting's true vulnerablity, makeing him look like he truely is a man, and not just some "Mafia Robot". I really like the idea of them saying we won't see him for a while, which can give room to some of the younger stars.
Mick Foley As TNA World Champion: Never did I think i would get the chance to say "World Champion, Mick Foley!" again, and it feels good. Now, do I prefer someone like Mick Foley over someone like AJ Styles or Samoa Joe? No. But i am glad that he gets a chance to be world champion once again.
Jeff Jarret and the Foley situation: i think that Jeff is being shown as someone who is trying to run a company, but everyone who has ever tried to help him has turned their back on him. It looks to me that Jarret may be stepping away from being the TNA Management on TV, and allowing someone else to step up. TNA is trying to make him look like he may be getting ran over by the current state.
Bobby Lashley in TNA: Wow! Just when you think that TNA couldn't get anymore over crowded, here comes Bobby Lashley. I think it was a bad call. Lashley isn't Main Event Mafia status, he is a newbie in Wrestling, why would they show him as a potenital "Mafia" guy? Why would TNA get more WWE like guys when they hardly have things to do with the current talent they have from WWE? TNA! Showcase YOUR Talent, because WWE's talent won't always be around!
These are my thoughts, agree ordisagree. Hate or love.
_RJ

RJ,
Like your thoughts and somewhat agree with a majority of what you are spittin. One point I disagree with is Lashley coming to TNA as a Bad Call. I marked out big time when he came out at Lockdown. Not in a million years did I see that coming and it brought me back to my younger days as a wrestling fan. The other thing is I think Lashley has a lot to offer TNA. Before he left WWE he was over big time. Maybe one or two guys were more over than him and I'm not even sure about that. I really could see some great story lines coming out of all this.
I love the direction TNA is going. I had some doubts with everything that was going on a few months back, but right now I'm excited to see what is going to happen on Impact every week.

I agree with you on Lashley though I think his deal (if he signs one) will be a short one. Over the years, TNA has signed wrestlers to very short-term contracts.

Sting disappearring off TV tells me that when he returns it will be to assist the Frontline in vanquishing the MEM. It's one of the things that has bothered me most about the angle. Sting never truely committed to it and was never a real heel. It made things confusing and unecessary, and I think if he had been a proper heel character the storyline would be in a better position right now. He's seemingly had himself removed from it, in order to return the hero... And once again, not put over the younger, more talented guys.
Foley's reign needs to be short. I'm fine with him holding it, because he can still (kind of) go in the ring, and he seems to have lost weight since coming in to TNA. If he holds it anywhere near the lengths Joe, Angle, and Sting did TNA are in real trouble. Mick just can't do that at this stage in his career. Dropping it to Angle in a couple of months, who can then drop it to AJ seems the best plan in my eyes. Although personal, were I booking, Mick would never have got a sniff of the title. He's one of my all time favourites, but he is way past World Title material.
Jarrett's current role as "management" on TV is working well I feel, but it's unlikely to last as more and more he gets in the ring of late. To leave Foley in charge however would be a mistake. If Foley is gonna be champion, strip him of his authority. Make Jarrett a full time worker again and have Cornette as the only authority figure... Otherwise it's just confusing.
Lashley debut meant zilch to me. He was shit in WWE and if TNA give him the same (or a similar role) he'll be shit there to. He should be neither Frontline nor MEM in all honesty. In a locker room full of tweeners, me saying that's the direction Lashley should go seems ridiculous, but honestly that's his best route. Establishing himself as a loner and running through everyone he can, a la Goldberg, regardless of their politics or position would make him a real contender... And please God, give him a manager. He can't talk for shit.
I haven't even watched Impact yet, but I felt the need to comment... As usual. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

It will be nothing short of a miracle if he keeps it in King of the Mountain. Provided he keeps it at Sacrifice, KOTM would be his next schedualed defence.

Well that's true, although King Of The Moutain is a clusterfuck of a gimmick... Climb the ladder to win the belt, but you've got to put the belt up there, then take it back down second later... And oh, did I mention, there's a penelty box that you go in if you get pinned. Oh yeah, and to be allowed to put the belt on the hook (in order to take it down again and be declared the winner) you have to pin a guy and put him in the penelty box.
I think I might hate TNA.

The funny thing about that one comment is this: Sting is the one who started this war, yet he wasn;t committed to his own cause...Hmmmmm, can someone say "TNA IS WIERD AND HORRIBLE AT EXECUTING THIS ANGLE"?
