If anything, Umaga is a previous Joe gimmick rip off.
As for his weight, not much of an issue if he can still go which he seems to be able to.
Yeah because Umaga is a ripoff of Joe's past gimmick how? Never mind the streaks they had, they were both NEVER ripoffs of each other or even looked like ripoffs until now. Unless I missed something with Joe screaming some crazy Samoan language out and having a cuban manager in the past. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. lol yeah it pissed me off when people talked about Umaga being a Joe rip-off. So what he's Samoan and oh yeah he had an undefeated streak. Who doesn't in WWE nowadays? Khali, Kozlov, Swagger... they do that with everybody.
He can still go, it's a testament to the guys abilities to do the shit that he does at the size he is.
Sure he could drop a few, but who couldn't?
Can he? Pretty sure we have seen no evidence that he can still put on good matches since his return. It was amazing how agile was IN THE PAST considering his weight, but now he seems a lot more sluggish and of course this effects his matches. He is nowhere near the wrestler he was and this is at least partly down to his weight.

Joe's past gimmick in Japan was what it is now, TNA are just reworking it.

Uh, no. Joe was an asshole and an asskicker, Umaga was a crazed, wild savage. But people seem to think Umaga was a rip-off just because they are both Samoan, and agile for big men. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

And Umaga just happened to get an undefeated streak going when Joe's undefeated streak was ongoing, making Joe the most popular thing in main stream wrestling.

Not really, he wore generic indy pants and had a bald head back then, but he didn't have a penis tattooed on his face and go round torturing people with a machete..

TNA - This Is How You Should Use Samoa Joe. This Is What We Mean By Joe's Killer Persona! This Is The Kind Of Joe We Want To See In TNA! TNA - This Is How You Should Use Samoa Joe. This Is What We Mean By Joe's Killer Persona! This Is The Kind Of Joe We Want To See In TNA

Never said it was unique, but it was a more interesting streak than the usual. Joe was not only destroying established wrestlers like AJ Styles and Daniels, but he was destroying them both, at once. I wouldnt dismiss Samoa Joe having some influence on WWE's decision to create the Umaga character.
IIRC WWE had originally wanted Joe to be in Umaga's role, so highly doubtful they saw something a small company like TNA and decided to steal their idea.
Pretty much every other person in the WWE who debuts has an undeafeted streak.
