Re: iMPACT! - April 23rd 2009 - Double Main Event, Lashley' First iMPACT!
I missed it but after reading the results, I'm still saying:
Quote:
Anyone else sick of TNA teasing veterans like Jarrett, and now it looks like Foley to join the MEM?
Also, if Lashley joins the Mafia I would love to hear how Tenay and West explain Lashley's credentials when he was only in wrestling for maybe two years, and held two titles..
Re: iMPACT! - April 23rd 2009 - Double Main Event, Lashley' First iMPACT!
Jarrett opens the show as he heads to the ring with the TNA World Championship in hand. Jarrett then introduces the new World champion, Mick Foley. Foley says he doesnt think we will see Sting anytime soon as he is now a broken and emotionally shattered man. Jarrett then officially awards the title to Foley. Jarrett announces Foley's first title defence will be at Sacrifice in a four way match. Foley isnt happy about it being a four way and accuses Jarrett of being jealous. Foley books a match for tonight, Jeff Jarrett vs Scott Steiner in a Cactus Jack Smack Attack match, whatever the hell that is.
Team 3D put Beer Money over as a future great teaming. Brother Ray announces a Team 3D invitational tournament to improve the TNA tag team even more. The winners will get a TNA Wrld Tag Team title match.
Quarter Final Match in the Team 3D Tag Team Invitational
During the match Lethal dived through the ropes but seemed to catch his legs which slowed him down a lot. Lethal still hit he dive but it didnt look anywhere near as smooth as usual. Beer Money's first double tea saw Roode with a Spinebuster into the Lungblower from Storm. Roode would go on to kick out of the Lethal Combination. The Last Call to the back of Lethal's head stuns him for the DWI double team victory.
Beer Money Inc def Lethal Consequences
Eric Young asks Jarrett what he needs to do to get a shot around here. Young says he isnt asking for a handout, he's asking for a chance. Jarrett tells him Holliday (Trevor Murdoch) needs a partner for tonight, he can take that chance.
Nash and Booker are trying to do an interview but Sharmell and Jenna Morasca keep argueing.
Slammiversary will be in Detroit this year.
Number One Contender Ladder Match
I assumed Sojourner Bolt was heel again after Lockdown, this match confirms it as she used Brass Knuckles to knock out Taylor and get the win.
Sojourner Bolt def Taylor Wilde
Velvet announces Rayne is officially a member of Mi Pi Sexy. Angelina gets a celebration party but Awesome Kong interupts it. Kong scares off the Beautiful People before delivering an Answeome Bomb to one of the male dancers.
TNA Legends Championship
Nash makes good use of his extra strong elbow pad during the match. Rudy Charles must be half blind as it took him nearly a minute to call for the bell after seeing Booker slide in, hit the Axe Kick, and slide back out.
AJ Styles def Kevin Nash via DQ to retain
Backstage Angle and the MEM security have to hold Booker and Nash apart as Nash isnt happy about Booker causing the DQ.
Quarter Final Match in the Team 3D Tag Team Invitational
No Limit are accompanied by Bashir and Kiyoshi. Jethro Holliday makes his iMPACT! debut and his TNA return in this match. Holliday's schedualed partner had transport problems, Lance Cade maybe? Young picks up the win for his team after the crucifix on Yujiro after Bashir and Kiyoshi failed in interferance attempts.
Jethro Holliday and Eric Young def No Limit
Cactus Jack Smack Attack (Hardcore Match)
The weapons in the match include a barbed wire rope, a mailbox, a santa clause and even a pogo stick. Jarrett went old school and used the low blow followed by the stroke for a two count. The guitar shot followed by a second stroke gets Jarrett the victory.
Jeff Jarrett def Scott Steiner
Kurt Angle comes to the ring after the match and takes it to Jarrett. An Ankle Lock/Stiner Recliner double team gets Foley into the ring to make the save with a steel chair. Foley then smashes Jarrett in the head with the chair. After the break Jarrett treathens to fire Foley but Lashley interupts. Lashley makes his way onto the stage much to the delight of Angle and Steiner. Lashley is the last thing we see before nding the show.
