So in the early days of TNA Wrestling, TNA would showcase their X-Division because that's the only real talent they had. Now, in the "latter" days of TNA, they are showcaseing stars that are Former WWE Stars. Now, before you say I am a hater or whatever, let me just say that I love TNA, and it's the once wrestling broadcast I can say I enjoy at a *** star level.
I understand why TNA wants people like Booker T, Kurt Angle, Scott Stiener, Team 3D, Sting and Jeff Jarrett in the main-event picture, and that is because they helped make modern day wrestling...well, modern day. These guys have over, what did they say, 70 years in the business? Amazing talent in that little group their.
But what made TNA such a potential company? The X-DIVISION! TNA stood out because they had such a great talented group of young stars like, Aj Styles, Chris Daniels, KAz, Matt Bently, Sonjay Dutt, Petety Williams. WHat happened to those days?! I miss those days.
i think for TNA to be able to continue to grow, they need to showcase THEIR talent, not WWE/WCW/ECW's talent. They have a great roster, but they showcase people that they just picked up off the Highway of Free Agentness. People who are already stars in their own right. They should mix the X-Division guys with the "Main Eventers from the past", give these young guys some real talent.
TNA wouldn't be able to survive if Kurt Angle, Kevin Nash, Booker T, Sting, and all these people got on a plane, and the plane would crash. They'd be in big trouble!
My Thoughts: Showcase the X-Division! What are your thoughts?

Simple enough answer and a very good one, but what TNA needs to focus on is booking. Instead of trying to force MEM down our throats with to promos a show, let them wrestle, let them tell their story in the ring. It's obvious that they are trying to compete with WWE, and WWE views them as no competition, so stop trying to compete. Be the Mets to their Yankees, a simple alternative.
Yes, let's showcase more X-Division when the x-division matches or segments are usually the lowest rated part of the show.
Exactly what i was going to say. As much as we like the X-Division matches, they simply dont draw in viewers which is the entire point of a TV Show. TNA used the X-Division in the start because they had guys like AJ Styles, Jerry Lynn and Low Ki whereas the main event picture was made up of people like Jeff Jarrett, Ron Killings, Ken Shamrock and Brian Lawler. There was no question about who was going to be more entertaining but as soon as TNA started to get people like Kurt Angle and Christian they didnt need to rely on the X-Division anymore as the main event picture was suddenly a whole lot better. There is also the fact that the X-Division talent could never match up to the Styles/Daniels/Joe era regardless of how well it could be booked.
Simply put, TNA dont need to push the X-Division right now. Who would you rather see? Kurt Angle or Consequences Creed?

To me... they shouldn't push it past a certain level however they should start making it seem more important. Adding someone like Jay Lethal to a feud with say.. AJ Styles and Booker T will make him seem like a bigger deal, so when he goes back to the X Division, the fans will care more about him and his matches. Likewise you get a heel who can get more heat besides generic foreigner gimmicks, it might draw too.
I think the reason the X division doesnt draw is because all of the serious wrestlers like Daniels, Styles, Joe, Sabin, and Shelly have been moved to other division. Thus we are left with Black Machismo, Consequences Creed, Sharkboy, Eric Young, and Suicide. Over half of the division is a comedy act, have their characters formed off of a past wrestler or movie, or in the case of Suicide a fucking videogame which didnt sell. If the X division was more about the in ring product instead of the horrible gimmicks and retarded, over rated gimmick matches, the division would probably draw. Hell, the X division was the driving force in TNA during the early days of their ppv era.

Let me say it this way: Showcase the X-Division Stars. We need to be shown that once Angle dies, Sting Retires, and Nash realizes that he's be better on Commentary(who really cares about Booker) that we have a future!

It's what WCW did, showcase the ex WWF/E stars. Then once they have the audience do what they want with their product.
I think hardcore wrestling fans prefer the X division but then the casual fan will prefer promos then a 3 minute wrestling bore fest with old hacks. But w.e works for TNA to grow im not fussed
It's been at the level it's at now for the past three years or so. Showcasing the vetrans as the top tier isn't working. When TNA put the X-Division at the forefront of it's shows, and booked it seriously, they grew. They grew from a tiny Nashville indy company, to a company on the verge of the big time. A two-hour weekly show, twelve PPV's a year, and a financial backer... And then they staled. They took Joe, AJ, and Daniels out of the X-Division, gave everyone else comedy gimmicks or put them in tag teams and essentially raped the division of any mainstream appeal it had.
The reason the X-Division segments get low ratings isn't because they are talented, it's because no one wants to see a guy dressed in the American flag get beat up by an Arab terrorist. It's not fun to watch. Daniels needs to un-mask Suicide. Lethal needs to drop the Macho schtick. Homicide needs to be pushed if he's gonna cash in his title shot. Bashir needs to drop the Arabian Nightmare gimmick and just be an Arab-American guy who you don't mess with, not cos he'll bomb your house but because he'll kick your ass.
The X-Division was the wave of the future back when TNA started, now it's their Light Heavyweight Division. It's a joke, but without it TNA are doomed. Angle's likely to return to WWE (or paralyse himself), Sting, Nash and Steiner are ready to retire, and Booker's credibility since joining th company has sank. Jarrett and Foley can't carry the company. Joe's star has faded, and is being further destroyed by his Nation Of Violence gimmick. Daniels isn't an established main eventer. Only AJ is left who hasn't been completely and utterly ruined by TNA, and even he has been tarnished by comedy heel routines and the inability to topple the MEM.
