As we all know, Jim Cornette gave Hernandez another chance at the World title in the future due to the Main Event Mafia interfering when he cashed in his Feast or Fired case. Now, ignore the fact that he is not currently involved in a storyline and lets assume he is by the time his title match comes around. Would you buy him as champion? He obviousally has the size needed but is very limited on mic ability. Does that make much differance to you or do you just want a champion who can kick some ass?
My personal opinion on this is that he could become World champion but with limitations. First being it would be a short title reign to see how people react to him being the top guy. Second is much like Jeff Hardy, it would happen on one of the not so big shows if on Pay Per View at all. Kurt Angle won one of his most recent title reigns on iMPACT! so it would not be unheard of. Third point is Homicide and how he figures into all of this. LAX were very vocal when TNA considering splitting them up so what happens with him? Does he take a back seat and let Hernandez take all the glory? I dont see TNA splitting them up, so unless Homicide wins the X-Division title, i dont see Hernandez being sucessful in the near future.

Re: Hernandez as World Champion?
I've not seen him in anywhere near enough singles. He looks great in tags, but hell Billy Gunn looked great in tags in New Age Outlaws back in the day when he was limited to three of four moments of heat out there!

The fact that he is quite a good big man isn't enough to justify handing him the World Title, even if it came with enough build. I dunno, I just don't think he has the tools to be a World Champion AT ALL and wouldn't buy him as a credible one. Not everybody who is talented can be World Champions.

This is how i think of it. Would you pay to see Hernandez at house shows or on PPV?
I wouldn't. He is a entertaining mid card big guy that tosses smaller guys around to get over. It works. But, he is not heavyweight champion material at the moment.
Hernandez would be a better fit than Sting as champion. He's young, got a good size and look as well as being part of an over tag team (don't forget that Homicide has an X-Division title shot coming up too) that could play well into the Front Line storyline.
I was hoping for Sting vs. Hernandez at Lockdown (had they not gone and officially turned Sting face) with hernandez defending the belt against guys like Sting, Angle, Booker and Styles on PPV, all of whom should have been able to have a good match with Hernandez.

I love watching Hernandez in the ring, I admit he may not be the best wrestler in the world but for me whenever hes in the ring your guaranteed quality.
He has the size, some speed, not afraid to go to the top rope. The guy is brilliant, Id love to see him win the belt, considering we got Sting champ at the minute.
Mic skills dont matter in my view, Brett Hart was pretty bad with the mic but was arguably the greatest wrestler to ever enter the ring.
I think Hernandez would make a great champion and I would love to see them put the title on him. I find it funny that the same people who trash TNA for putting the title on old guys like Sting and Angle would complain if they put it on an young talent. Hernandez is a great wrestler and has a great ring presence. IMO he could be a top star in the wrestling world. There are so many ways they could make this work. Hell, push LAX and have them fight both MEM and Frontline.
Hernandez has the ability to be a World Champion in the future, all be it his mic skills are below average. I wouldnt make him a World Champion anytime soon though. Basically TNA would be handing Hernandez the title after completely destroying the characters of AJ Styles, Samoa Joe. I'd rather them give the belt to someone who has had dealing, past one random match, with the current champion.
