Feast Or Fired in theory is a good idea. People battling over breifcases that hold a pinkslip, and shots at all the TNA Championships(excluding Knockouts & Legend). Now I say its good in theory because in reality this was TNA's half assed attempt to copy WWE's Money In The Bank idea. Now Ive got to give TNA credit, the idea of Feist Or Fired Trumps the usual ladder match, but where TNA fails is once again in their booking. After Daniels got fired for the second time, Suicide 2.0 appeared. Within the first month of winning a World Championship shot, all hopes of Hernandez in some sort of prominent singles role went to dust. Thank you NWA for pulling your belt, thus killing the rule about a title changing by DQ & countout in TNA To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. I completely forgot because TNA has continued to randomly book him in matches as far away from the X Champion,or for the that matter singles wrestling, as can be.
When you lay all the cards on the table TNA is focused so much on WWE, they not only try to half ass WWE's match concepts, but they are even copying WWEs failure to produce a mid card division. There is so much focus on the main event scene that it renders Feist or Fired obsolete weeks after the match has happened.
Its time for TNA to forget about Feast or Fired and just book a Money In The Bank style match for a shot at the TNA World Championship. Look back at TNA's history, all they have done is copy other promotions. When WWE went HD, a few months later TNA went HD. Once Team Canada broke up TNA created a stock market obsessed wrestler in Robert Rhoode, and gave him an assistant.( JBL & Jillian Hall) WWE created a General Manager to run their brand, TNA brought in Jim Cornette to run TNA. WWE had Vince McMahon, the boss, come in and take an active role in, TNA brought in Jeff Jarrett in the same type of role. WWE books TLC, TNA books TLC with glass. Now TNA is copying the WcW New Blood vs Millionaires Club angle. Whats so hard about just copying the Money In The Bank match and giving it a different gimmick name, much like the Six Sides of Steel. Over all, its just better for their booking style as all TNA seems focused on is their main championship anyway.
Re: Copying WWE so much, you're copying their failure
Sorry, but, feast!
I definitely agree with the briefcases being booked really poorly. The thing about money in the bank is it's special, it's pretty much a guaranteed title reign and knowing that that timebomb can go off at any time is what's so great about it.
When you've got THREE of those around, it's just total overkill. The MiTB is usually used to fuel a main event angle for a couple of months, the two feast or fired cases that have been cashed have had zero effect on any storylines. There is obviously a chance they could revive the Hernandez title contention since he's been guaranteed a rematch, but if they're going to do that then why didn't they just hold fire on having him cash it in for a few months?!

TNA is about original as the X Factor. The only good idea they actually came up with themselves is the Ultimate X match.
I don't even think the Feast or Fired match is a good concept. It's just a bunch of guys brawling continuously with someone reaching for the case here and there, big deal.

But Steve, what about the 6 sided ring that makes oh so much difference to the product? To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
And yeah Feast or Fired is a terrible ripoff of Money in the Bank and this year it was very badly booked. I do think the concept could work though despite being fairly unoriginal. The way they used the tag title shot briefcase was ludicrous.

How did they use it?
And yeah, how could I forget that 6 sides = 6 times the psycology. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. Shame is isn't original in the slightest.

TNA have always had a general manager type position ever since they started. It was originally an NWA Rep, went on to become the Director of Authority, then i think it went to an NWA Committe (Rarely seen on screen but always made it known they made the decisions) before making Cornette the management representative. TNA started using the figure in June 2002, WWE started in July.

Well I agree with two things. The FOF match is a definite rip off of MITB. And TNA's booking blows balls.
However,

-Wrestling has ALWAYS had authority figures. Cornett (and others back in time) played that authority figure and Jarret decided just now to admit to kayfabe that he was the owner. So now they have both. That's not a rip off.
-Isn't JBL just a rip off of Ted Dibiase, with your logic? It's hardly a rip off. Lot's of wrestlers are rich and obsessed with money in real life. Why is it that illogical for us to know about 2 out of the 200 guys between WWe and TNA's roster?
-Most shows are going HD as it's a movement. It'll be required soon. In fact, it was required of TNA by Spike TV.
-Oh, they have the same matches? That's okay, because EVERYONE does. So they both have Six Sides of Steele? Everyone in the world has Cage matches. That was a huge gimmick match before but now it is more common.
So it's not as bad as you nit picked it to be, but yeah they're horrible at booking everything.
