Two things on iMPACT! brought me to this conclusion. Firstly, Morgan helped Steiner and Booker in the beatdown of Petey Williams, Jay Lethal, Eric Young and Consequences Creed. Secondly, Kevin Nash said he had exclusive info on who the newest member of the Main Event Mafia was.
We all know Morgan looks the part, but do you see him actually joining the Mafia as their protege or something?

Let me ask you what you think of him? Watching his match on the last Impact really makes me wonder how this guy still lacks any skill in the ring. Maybe it's just me but he looks green as hell...

I think he is still rough around the edges as he is only recently made the turn to heel. He's played his entire TNA run as a babyface. When you turn you change your in ring style so i think he just needs to get used to being a heel. He has the look, the charisma, and the talent, he just has to use it properly. His mic work is way ahead of his expierance. He has only been wrestling for six years. Once he gets more big match expierance i think he will improve a lot more.

Yeh there was a lot of good things I saw from him. His mic skills were pretty good in that backstage interview last week. Also some of his moves were pretty good, but overall has to work on a lot..

Isn't the Mafia about guys who were sucessful elsewhere and are now hogging the spotlight?
Considering what the Frontline was originally about i dont think it would be that big of a deal. Besides, they could do something with Morgan respecting the MEM while everyone else is against them. The MEM then decide to take him under there wing and build him as their successor in TNA.

Re: Matt Morgan in the Mafia?
I like the idea of them using him as a "hired gun" and having an association with them, but I hate the idea of them watering down MEM so soon after their creation with a guy that doesn't fit their MO at all. Morgan has barely even prelim-evented anywhere let alone main evented. Give him a lil rub by association but hell no entry to the group

While I like the idea of the MEM having a younger wrestler as a sort of protege, I don't think Morgan is right for the part. His biggest accomplishment in wrestling has been wrestling at Survivor Series and having a stutter on national television. To be in the Mafia (Even as a protege), I believe you need to have some sort of name and experience outside of TNA. Looking at their current roster, I don't think anyone really fits the bill perfectly. The best choice in my opinion is to add someone who while being a former champion in the WWE, was never pushed outside of the tag team or midcard ranks. That way, they do have some status, but they can still be groomed into what the MEM feels is a worthy successor.
Some of the first ones that popped in my head was someone along the lines of Rene Dupree, Lance Cade or Kenny Dykstra. All were extremely young when they started in the WWE. Despite the age, they quickly found success and were seemingly destined to be major stars. All had their push pulled out from under them before jobbing out of the company.
Age wise, they're all perfect. With Cade being the oldest at 27, they're around the same age as most of the TNA Frontline (Excluding Team 3D and Rhino). The other main reason why I feel they're perfect is because all three can work a good match. Being able to work with the likes of Samoa Joe, AJ Styles and Kurt Angle will only help them shine through even more. At the same time, they all offer a little something different for the MEM:
Lance Cade - At his size, he's a modern day Barry Windham. He could play the role of a power enforcer especially against the likes of the X-Division wrestlers.
Kenny Dykstra - I see Kenny being more of the chickenshit heel who would be valuable in interfering and taking bumps against the Frontline in order to help the MEM. Think of Vincent in the nWo, only not useless.
Rene Dupree - Unlike the other two, Dupree would be better as a personal pet project for Kurt Angle. He'd be used less as a helper and more as an actual member of the MEM. With any hope, he'd be used in major tag matches along side of Kurt Angle.
I know a lot of fans are already sick of TNA bringing in so many former WWE wrestlers, but if I had my choice over these three against most of the TNA roster, I know I'd pay to see Dupree, Dykstra and Cade.

I could see Morgan joining MEM. He could be paid as their enforcer and being a big man, Nash could teach him. The fans already dislike Morgan, and what better way to get the fans to hate him more than by having him sell out his generation and join the people intent on killing TNA. Its also a great push for him being associated with big name wrestlers such as Kurt Angle, Kevin Nash, Sting, and so on.
