I have mixed feelings about this episode.

I didn't really like the future scenes....it just seems weird to me to be revealing things before they happen.

Now we know only 6 people make if off the island and for some reason the ones who made it back are keeping it a secret that there are still more people left on the island.

Although it could turn out to be a really intriguing angle to play off of.

Well, when the show first came out, I remember reading an article about it in the Wall St. Journal, and they said contract holdouts were a major reason for the big cast, both in the main characters and in the extras.

Plus, it gives them freedom in case they need a character who has some sort of "skill" that the main characters dont possess. Like, they were able to introduce the character of Dr. Arzt, because they needed a science teacher-type to advance the plot.

They also killed off a couple of the extras to show that the castways were in danger, but they were able to accomplish it without killing off any of the main characters

i thought this one was kind of a downer...it's was like a "set-up" episode...it was a slow episode meant to set up the new direction of the show (getting off the island/flash-forwards)

i thought it was cool they added the video of them finding the plane underwater, that was the ending to the Alternate Reality Game, you played Sam who was on the Constantine I(which was mentioned).

do you think it was placed in the water so people would stop looking for them?

also, how lucky was it for Locke to be shot where his kinda WAS. This island is crazy.

I think all the flashes were flashbacks. They were meant to show what the four were doing before they teamed up for this mission on the island.

That being said, I have to agree with Tom. There wasn't a whole lot really that was going on in this episode, more just introducing the new characters. We know their primary objective now is finding Ben. I'm convinced those guys are from DHARMA, and are getting revenge on Ben for killing most of their associates a few years back.

Although, I'm intruiged to see if they'll show Ben's guy on the Freighter and the kind of information he is gathering. Ben just seems to have people EVERYWHERE. How long has the freighter been there that Ben knew to get a person on board and have them already report back? I would assume it's been there a while as the last time we saw Ben getting messages was in that tent from Juliet with all the communications devices.

But that was before the Others went to find the pregnant women, so I'm wondering if the people on the Freighter have been planning for a while.

yeah i forgot it showed that daniel or whoever crying when he saw the ship so it was a flashback but im sure it was pretty recent of one. I find it wierd tehy keep throwing the polar bears in there.

i read somewhere that they think the island is by the north pole in some magnetic snow globe deal that they are stuck in but i refuse to believe that. i mean flying from sydney to the states isnt near the north pole but who knows with this show.

I think im going to like Miles because he's been on some movies and everytime i see him i like his character(Keeping The Faith)
