    NBA Playoffs

Alright well, the playoffs are only like what, three weeks away? And I think we should start discussing it a little bit. I know someone will make a topic about this later, but I wanted to start it early. Now let me just start off by saying that Cleveland WILL NOT count on one man to carry them through the playoffs. Ok now that I have that out of the way. Lets talk about who the final two teams will be to compete in the NBA Finals. I say it will be Detroit vs. Spurs/Lakers/Jazz. This is my opinion. There is no chance in hell that Cleveland will be there. But what you guys think?

I wanna see fresh matches in the West. Suns/Lakers and Spurs/Jazz not again please.

I really am pulling for the Mavs as they are my 2nd fav team. I love Josh friggin Howard and Stack, but it's sad seeing how bad they always finish. I feel sad for Dirk, but they'll be out in the 1st round. I'd like to see Mavs/Suns

I want this in the west

    Mavs/Suns

    Spurs/Warriors

    Hornets/Jazz

    Rockets/Lakers

    THAN

    Suns/Spurs

    Jazz/Lakers

    THAN

Lakers/Spurs - Ultimate rematch from a fewyears ago

    THAN

I'd like either LA or SA to go into the finals.

Since I don't wanna get into cavs, Detroit can't beat the Celts in a 7 game series imo, so the finals are Lakers/Celtics or Spurs/Celtics. Lakers/Celts would own b/c the rivalry.

No doubt, the playoff will amaze this year.

I seriously think that New Orleans will be beat by the Jazz. Most people would be surprised. I mean just look at the players on the Jazz, they have some really good players.

NOH is not playoff compatible yet. It'll be close, but the Jazz are betterthan most think. With the addition of Korver, they add a lights out shooter for the playoffs. Smart move by Utah.

Utah has a horrid road record, there is no way they will be in the finals. They have lost gimmes to th Bobcats and Pacers. May I remind you all these are two bottom feeding teams, and both in the east.

Provided they stay healthy, I honestly see the NBA finals coming down to the Spurs and Celtics. The Celtics have proven they can hang with the Pistons, and I think they could surprise them. Especially with the addition of their West players like Cassell and Allen. If you notice, the team isn't afraid to push the ball, and thats something you generally don't see in the east. Over the course of a seven game series, provided the Celtics run the fast breaks, I cant see the Pistons being able to sustain a high level.

Side Note: 100 credits to anyone who can tell me the real name of the San Antonio Spurs. What does the "San" and Antonio mean!?

Playoff atmosphere in a playoff game on the road is bigger.

I think the Jazz will play harder in lets say Houston like last year in the playoffs when they didn't have home court adv I believe than when they lose to the T'Wolves in a division game.

Indeed the playoff atmosphere is much different than the regular season, but they Jazz are in the West. They will be playing against much better teams than the Bobcats and Pacers. If they can lost big to two bottom feeding East teams in the regular season, I have no clue how they can match up against teams in the West with much more passion and talent. While it is an advantage that the Jazz will be more focused in a playoff game, the teams in the West will be just a focused. I get the feeling the Jazz will be making a first round exit. If they were in the East it might be a different story, but the location of Utah is a bitch.
