    NBA News and Discussion Thread

Discuss the NBA season as it goes on here. Of course the most interesting bit of news the NBA will have this year is where Kobe will end up. Hopefully, my Bulls don't trade their whole roster for someone past their prime.

If Kobe is traded, I have the feeling he will be in Milwaukee not Chicago.

    Desmond Mason
    Michael Redd
    Dan Gadzuric
    two 2nd round draft picks

would be the best bet for Kobe.

I dont see the Bulls giving up Deng and Im sure that would be a deciding factor in the trade.

Mason: The Lakers will have replaced Kobe's slashing ability
Red: Kobe's jump shooting from 3 point and FG range. A usual 25-36 points per game.

Dan Gadzuric - A post presence. He has good hops for a big man, he'll get a few block but he isn't the greatest on defense. However he can get you perimeter shots.

Hell, I hope Kobe doesn't come, I heard if he comes we loose Gordan,Hinrich,Thomas,Deng and more...bad bad bad move.

Nuggets are taking this season though, or Celtics, or Detreoit(sigh).

If Kobe goes to the Wolves, he definetly won't be happier than he is now.

Kobe would NEVER in a million years accept a trade to a small market with a virtual shot of 0 when making the playoffs. Also, the Bulls aren't interested in Kobe, the only teams with reported interest are the Mavericks, Knicks, Heat and Wizards.

Thank God. Heinrich, Gordon and Deng are three great young players. Kobe isn't worth it, nor would it help.

    Is Nocionni still a Bull?

Just a note. It's Hinrich* And pretty much the entire team remains intact from last year.

I think Nocionni is a restricted free agent.

The problem Kobe faces is the fact that he is the best player in the NBA. The Lakers wont get full value for him, but they will be looking for most of the good players on the team. Therefore Kobe will still be in the same situation. He wants to go to the Bulls, but he doesn't realize that once the trade is done, the Bulls he see's right now isn't the Bulls team he'll be playing on.

I say the Bucks are the likely spot for him to end up because once the trade is over the Buck could still possibly have Andrew Bogut, Yi Jianlian, Charlie Villanueva, Maurice Williams & Charlie Bell. Add Kobe to that line up, along with Ruffin ( who is an able body) and you have a pretty well rounded team. The team probably wont make it to a championship in Kobe's first year, but they should at least make it to the conference finals.

Kobe would have to accept that. I doubt he'd ever go small market. Plus, if you package picks, with almost any big market team, I'm sure they can get around the same value. Also, I live in Wisconsin, not many people here are fond of Kobe.

Nocioni signed a deal in the off-season worth about 4 mil so he's under contract.

By the way, the Lakers said they wanted Deng, the Bulls said they ain't givin' up Deng.

Here are some more realistic trade scenarios:

    Washington Gets:
    SG Kobe Bryant
    PG Jordan Farmar

    Los Angeles Gets:
    PG Gilbert Arenas
    PF Etan Thomas
    C Brendan Haywood
    1st Round Pick

    New York Knicks Get:
    SG Kobe Bryant
    PG Jordan Farmar
    SF Vladmir Radmanovic

    Los Angeles Gets:
    PF Zach Randolph
    SF Jamal Crawford
    SG Fred Jones
    Assorted Picks

neither of those trades are likely because your giving away the farm for Kobe, and if he has a brain he will look at the roster and realize he might as well stay where he's at.

Are the Lakers trying to get rid of Farmar too?

Giving away the farm? uhhh, Antoine Jamison? Caron Butler? Uhh, the major players are still there? I don't know which NBA you're watching.

The Knicks have enough potential talent to start Kobe... I mean if I was Kobe, I'd be excited about:
    C: Eddy Curry
    PF: David Lee
    SF: Quentin Richardson
    SG: Kobe Bryant
    PG: Stephon Marbury

I dunno that's a pretty solid starting five. At least it looks a helluva lot better than,
    C: Andrew Bogut
    PF: Yi Jianlian/Charlie Villanueva
    SF: Bobby Simmons?
    SG: Kobe
    PG: Maurice Williams

Plus he's infinitely times more marketable in NY than in Milwaukee another plus. And D-Mase can't be traded until December, just FYI

    Anything else?

And no Paul, but he's a nice throw-in player as they have Jarvaris Crittenton that they drafted

Chauncey is back in Detroit as was expected

Also Al Jefferson just signed a contract extension with the Timberwolves

Luol Deng did not, therefore he will be a restricted free agent come this summer.

Damn. The Bulls might trade him for Kobe then. If they do, they better not give up Gordan, Heinrich or anyone like that. Don't even give up Tyrese.

Are you kidding me? They might as well get Kobe then. Keep Heinrich though.

That rules out Deng, Apparently there is a three team deal in place but it's not going anywhere fast between Chicago Sacramento and Los Angeles

Listen to him. He thinks he's Jordan status, and he isn't. You want out of the team, so don't bitch about where your going.

    I pretty much hate Kobe.

They can't do that. Duhon's good, but he can't start, and that leaves them with no depth.
