Happy anniversary Order! Do not think I am alone when I say that you’re one of the main driving forces of the success of this section.

Looking forward to the tournament, been a while since I’ve competed in one!

The tournament could be the best ever with some of the newer bookers of the section involved.

Personally I might not be able to participate as I'm struggling for time to write my own work as it is.

Congrats, Order. I checked in on here yesterday and we had 127 people viewing the BTB section. So many different projects, all are awesome. Let's keep up the top-notch work guys.

This tournament sounds pretty interesting, sign me up whenever it starts.

I've just got a new job and I'm now a manager of a store so I'm gutted that I won't be able to get involved as I want to focus all energy on my project, but it'll be a fun watch.

    Happy anniversary Order.

I too only joined the site for the BTB section, so cool to see it's still the driving force of new members today.

Ooooh...loves me a good tournament. That sounds hella intriguing.

I've been quiet over the last week and a half. I've been travelling for work (I live in Montpellier France, but been all over Europe the last two weeks) Looking forward to getting back to my booking at some point this week.

    Re: The BTB Discussion Thread

How do people apply injuries to their BTB's or do they generally not?

For my upcoming BTB I want to keep it realistic by having injuries like they would happen in real, and wondered how other people do it, or if everyone just never has anyone get injured in their BTB's.

I'm thinking of using a random generator and have kept a record of every injury I am aware of for the past 8 months, so I've added 50% on to that amount to get a years worth of injuries. Generator would determine who gets injured, the type of injury and the type of injury will then determine how long the injury keeps the person out for.

As I say, I want to keep injuries for that element of realism, and it will also keep things exciting in terms of having to work around unexpected and how that impacts upcoming shows.

As an aside, per my previous comments about where to start my diary from, I've definitely ruled out a Post WM30 start and also decided if I do 2013, it will be after Summerslam rather than WM29, so I'm down to Summerslam 2013 or current day starting after HIAC 2017 or WM34, leaning towards the HIAC start if I go current day.

EWR/TEW has claimed many souls (and a booker's sanity) through the curse of injuries throughout the years.

    Aye

It was never the injuries with me. It was always when a wrestler (usually Scott Hall) checked into rehab

Then again...probably my fault for pushing Scott Hall in the first place.

    Re: The BTB Discussion Thread

I wish I’d gone with EWR from the start of my project to mix things up.

Ended up using a couple real life injuries instead and I’m enjoying booking around some stuff.

If I ever restart (not happening) then I will pursue using EWR or something similar.

I remember White Rhyno used to have a Chaos chart thing to try and input EWR type obstacles into his projects that weren't using EWR/TEW. He'd have a list of workers and a list of outcomes like injuries, suspensions etc and assign them a playing card and then he'd pick a 2 cards that would give him an outcome like '2 of clubs...John Cena'.....'5 of Diamonds.....is suspended for his first wellness policy violation'

Now I'm thinking about a BTB idea where I have some kind of totally randomised roster of 20-30 people that I didn't pick but I have to book with.

About 5 years ago I asked the guys in the BTB section here to help me with a similar project. I put down a list of all workers in all major promotions (WWE, NXT, RoH, TNA, New Japan, etc.) and asked people to PM me five picks to include a jobber, a lower midcard, midcard, upper midcard and main event. It was a pretty random roster that I ended up with.

^That roster looks fun as hell to book. Almost like a TNA on steroids or a TNA if they had deep pockets.

I too have toyed around with injuries. Basically if there is a storyline gap or I just can't fit them in, they get injured until I figure out the right time to bring them back.

I did something very similar in my short lived booker. Random dice rolls to determine roster injuries.

In my humble opinion if you're gonna have injuries in your booker you should find a way to take them out of your hands because it's sort of how the actual ordeal works. Not that I'd judge if someone just injured someone for story convenience but it would break my suspension of disbelief a bit.

I think it also becomes a test of how good a booker you are to think on your feet and react to a nightmare scenario when your top program gets derailed but the show must go on.

I'll definitely return for the King of BTB tournament this summer.

I don't want to commit to a project.

    I'll commit to a one-off.

It's one of the only things I don't have on my writing resume here.

    This has me pumped!

I'll release a schedule soon but the June BTB Legend will take place just before it so get thinking who you think deserves to joing the BTB HOF.

Definitely excited for the King of BTB tournament. Looks like a good opportunity for new members as well as for established members to do something different.
