    Raw Results and Discussion

    Here are this weeks results

Last week was the special 800th episode (WWE said it was 800, so it was 800 even though it might have been 806 or more) and we heard the news that John Cena would be facing the World Champion at Survivor Series. At the time of the announcement, it was going to be Batista/Cena II, but thanks to a steel cage match, John Cena is scheduled to wrestle Chris Jericho who won the title back in the rematch. We also saw Randy Orton kick Ted DiBiase for ruining Randy’s return to the ring during his match with CM Punk. We also saw Cody Rhodes and Manu play the role of Switzerland while Orton told them off and tried to goad them into getting revenge for what Randy did to DiBiase. An era ended when Mike Adamle resigned instead of waiting to be fired by Stephanie or Shane McMahon. What will happen when Raw goes to the other side of the Atlantic Ocean? Will William Regal be able to use the home field advantage against the man who is one year from being the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all the times?
We start off last night with a look back at the 800th (or so) episode of Raw when John Cena saw that Chris Jericho is his opponent for Survivor Series.

We are live on tape from Manchester, United Kingdom and your announcers are Michael ‘Austin Powers’ Cole and Jerry ‘Third in line to the British Monarchy’ Lawler.

The former champion Batista comes to the ring and he has something to say. Batista says that he is not here to whine and cry about last week. He is here to invoke his rematch clause. He came here tonight to win back his championship.

Stephanie McMahon appears on the TitanTron in Stamford. She says that Batista cannot invoke his rematch clause for tonight. She says that she knows that Batista is disappointed. Her Brother Shane made it clear last week that the winner of the steel cage match will face John Cena at Survivor Series. Batista will get a future title match but it cannot happen before Survivor Series. Stephanie says that we are approaching the dawn of a new era on Raw. They need to take a break from the past. It is time to stop some of the longest running issues on Raw. Kane will face Rey Mysterio in a No Disqualification Match for the last time. Tonight, Chris Jericho will face Shawn Michaels for the final time. That match will be a Last Man Standing Match. Stephanie thanks everyone for their time, and Stephanie thanks Dave for being so understanding.

Randy Orton’s music plays and he comes to the ring. Randy tells Batista that when it comes to a world title shot, Batista will have to wait in line. John Cena gets his opportunity at Survivor Series, then it is his turn because he is better than Batista. Four years ago in Evolution, he was kicked out of the group because he was the most successful member. Orton says that Batista could not beat him then, and cannot beat him now. If anyone deserves the title match after John Cena, it is him, not Batista.

Batista chuckles and tells Randy that history is written by winners. If you look at their history, he has been better than Randy in any way, shape, or form. He was better when they were in Evolution and he is better now. Batista says that tonight is about settling old scores to move on. Batista suggests that they meet in the ring so they can get this thing behind them. Orton wants to make sure that he heard Batista and he accepts the match. Orton tells Dave when he wins the title, he will hold the title longer than eight days. Batista tosses his mic at Orton and tries to get Orton in a Batista Bomb but Orton gets out of the ring. We go to commercial.

We are back with the Slam of the Week: William Regal gets the number one contender spot for the Intercontinental Title.

Santino Marella comes to the ring and he is with Beth Phoenix. Santino has the mic and he says that he is so confident that he is going to remain the Intercontinental Champion that he got rid of the Honk-A-Meter. He has the Honk-A-Perfect-Mountie-Meter. Their combined title reigns were approximately 123 weeks. Santino weighs in tonight at 13 weeks. According to his calculations, that is just 2 years and 4 months and he will break that record too. After tonight, he will be one step closer to being the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all the times. He says that the Jonas Brothers looking William Regal won’t beat him. Santino says that he is from the best country in Europe.

Match Number One: Santino Marella versus William Regal for the Intercontinental Title
The bell rings and Regal backs Marella into the corner and he connects with forearms. Regal with an Irish whip and elbow followed by an exploder suplex and a knee to the head for the three count.
    Winner: William Regal

After the match, Michael Cole goes into the ring to interview William Regal. Cole asks Regal what it feels like to be champion again. Regal says that he is proud to wear the title with the pride and dignity of an Englishman. He will be very proud to take the spirit of everyone from the United Kingdom around the world. Regal says that he is proud to be a loyal subject to the Queen. Most of all he is honored to be their Intercontinental champion.

    We go to commercial.

We are back and it is time for a Kane interview. He has hooks behind him. He welcomes Shane and Stephanie back to Raw. He says that there is something about Shane that brings out his inner child when he used to do bad things to animals. He is free to do anything to Rey that he wants and everyone is going to like it. Kane says that he never liked being liked. Not by his brother, the McMahons or anyone in the building. Tonight they will like him less and that means that he will like himself even more.

Match Number Two: D’Lo Brown versus Mike Knox
Knox with a knee and then he runs Brown into the turnbuckles. Knox with kicks and punches to Brown and then he connects with knees to the head. Knox with a knee in the corner followed by an Irish whip. Brown with an elbow but Knox with a bicycle kick followed by a corkscrew DDT for the three count.

Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler talk about Wrestlemania tickets going on sale and the people waiting in Houston were happy to be the first to get tickets (unless you ordered them on the pre-sale).

Beth Phoenix is in the back and she finds her cuddle bear. She asks him if he is going to be okay. Santino says that he never should have defended his title against the likes of William Regal. Santino says that he called Shane McMahon and he says that he thinks Shane is taking it out on Beth. Santino says that Beth has to wrestle Mickie James for the Women’s Title. Beth says that she cannot believe that Santino did that to him and she takes his phone and she throws it against the wall and it breaks. Beth walks away and we go to commercial.

We are back with the WWE Rewind: Chris Jericho winning the World Title back inside a steel cage.

It is time for the latest feature in John Cena . . . Superman Returns.

Chris Jericho comes out and he says that it was such a heartwarming tale. Chris has another story for Cena. That is the Batista Story. The man who injured Cena was defeated last week so Chris Jericho could become a world champion for the fifth time. Jericho says that we can talk about the Shawn Michaels Story. Chris says that he has the conviction and courage to point out that Shawn and his fans are hypocrites. Jericho says that he put Shawn’s head through a television monitor and then he punches his wife accidentally. Shawn might make light of it now. Chris points out that he beat Shawn in his type of match. Jericho tells Cena to watch closely because the same thing is going to happen to him. Cena’s return at Survivor Series will be tainted with a loss. He will beat Cena and he will show everyone that every story does not have a happy ending.

Rey Mysterio is walking in the back as we go to commercial.

We are back and it is time for the WWE’s own hype factoid (as you prepare for the numerous mentions on Thursday nights).

Match Number Three: Rey Mysterio versus Kane in a No Disqualification Match

Rey with an Asai Moonsault from the ringside barrier and he returns to the ring. We return to that Star Wars Wii commercial.

We are back and Kane kicks Rey. Kane with punches to Rey in the corner. He pulls Rey into the center of the ring and he punches him again. Kane with a hard Irish whip to Rey. Kane tries for the side slam but Rey with a tilt-a-whirl head scissors and Kane falls into the ropes for a 619, but Kane escapes the ring before Rey can hit the ropes. Rey tries for a baseball slide, but Kane grabs Rey and swings him into the ringside barrier. Kane uses the ring post to inflict more damage on Rey’s arm. Kane rolls Rey back into the ring and he continues to work on Rey’s arm. Rey chops Kane and he hits a bulldog out of a wheelbarrow. Rey with punches to Kane but Rey runs into a big boot and Kane gets a two count. Kane exposes the turnbuckles and the referee wants to know what is going on. Rey punches Kane on the floor but Kane sends Rey into the ropes and Rey turns it into a DDT.

Rey covers Kane and he can only get a two count. Rey with an enzuigiri and Kane falls awkwardly into the ropes. Rey with a 619 and a dive from the top rope and Kane grabs Rey on the cover. Rey gets out of the hold. Kane charges at Rey and he gets a drop toe hold into the turnbuckles. Rey with something that takes Kane down and he gets the three count.
    Winner: Rey Mysterio

Randy Orton is in his locker room and Manu and Cody Rhodes come in. Manu says that Randy has had a week to think about what he did to Ted. Cody says that Ted has a concussion and he is not going to let it slide. Randy says that Ted was the weak link in the group. Randy says that Ted was stupid to interfere in his match. Randy says that he did what Cody and Manu did not have the guts to do. Randy says that neither of them are in his league. Manu scowls while Randy leaves and we go to commercial.

Match Number Four: Batista versus Randy Orton

Before the match starts, Manu and Cody Rhodes come out and Cody has a mic. Cody tells Randy that he can’t beat him and he can’t beat Batista. Cody says that he is going to beat Batista.

Match Number Four . . . Part Two: Cody Rhodes versus Batista
They lock up and Batista backs Cody into the corner and Cody with a kick to the knee. Batista with shoulders in the corner and an Irish whip followed by a clothesline and kick to the head. Winner: Batista

After the match, Manu gets in the ring and he gets a spear for his trouble.

Batista walks up the ramp and he approaches Randy Orton. Orton backs up to avoid Batista and he goes to the back. We go to commercial.

Match Number Five: Beth Phoenix with Santino Marella versus Mickie James for the Women’s Title
Beth attacks Mickie as the bell rings and she tries for a slingshot suplex but Mickie gets out of the hold and hits a rollup for a near fall. We are back and it is time for a Chris Jericho/Shawn Michaels video package to build to their final match later tonight.

    Re: Raw Results and Discussion

Here's my review of the show

Wasnt it terrible that the opening graphic said it was the 800th show last week when everybody knws it was the 806th, also why couldnt they announce it was from Manchester rather than just the United Kingdom?

    Opening Promo

Batista comes out and insists he uses his rematch clause tonight but Steph Refuses him(How could she say she was watching Raw with millions of people around the world when the show was pretaped?). Why was this? Sure Cena gets a ttitle shot at the Survivor Series but surly Big Dave is entilted to his rematch when he wants just like Jericho did.

Steph announces that tonight we will see the dawn of a new era and the end of some of the old feuds with Rey Mysterio facing Kane in a no DQ match(thank god this feud is over) and Jericho facing Micheals in their last ever match on Raw in a Last Man Standing Match.

Randy Orton comes out and insists he is next in line for a title shot, Big Dave and Young Randall agree to a match later on tonight.

After the advert break we are showed Tower Bridge, which is at the other end of the country, hundreds of miles away.

    Santino Morella vs William Regal

Santino comes out and gets rid of the honkameter and brings out the new honkaperfectmountiemeter ansd told us that in two years and four months he would become the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all times.

William Regal then basically destroyed one of the greatest things on Raw in about 60 seconds withj a squash win. Regal didnt deserve this after repeatedly letting the company down so many times, its great to be Ffriends with Triple H aint it?

Kane then does his usual interview backstage

    Mike Knox vs D-Lo Brown

Squash match, Knox is just terrible. Did D-Lo really expect to be better than a jobber when he resigned to the company.

    Wrestlemania video airs next

Beth finds Santino backstage only to find out she has another match against Mickie James(Again?)

The Superman returns, oops I mean John Cena video is up next

Chris Jericho then came out and crapped on the John Cena is Superman comeback video, pretty fine promo setting up his match at Survivor Series.

    Rey Mysterio vs Kane

This match was neither good or bad but at least it drew a line under the worst feud of the year.

    Batista vs Cody Rhodes

Rhodes replaced Orton in the match after a backstage segment, the match was basically a squah, Batista got the easy win with a Batista Bomb then Manu got a spear after the match.

    Beth Pheonix vs Mickie James

Beth got the victory in the standard Beth/Mickie match, these two need a break from each other

    Shawn Micheals vs Chris Jericho

I was pretty disapointed with the match, sure it was a damn fine match but it was meant to be their last match and it was given a fair amount of time so I was expecting a classic. Jericho got the win thanks to JBL's help which made sense I suppose.

    Re: Raw Results and Discussion

My biggest gripe of this week's Raw is Knox/D-Lo. It's a shame D-Lo can't get anywhere near the reaction he used to get. Knox sucks out loud. Why in the hell is he being moved to Raw for a push?

I was annoyed that we didn't get CM Punk! Could have easily slotted in a token tag match where that D-Lo/Knox monstrosity was. The dark match was more tv worthy than that!

    Re: Raw Results and Discussion

I thought this was a rather good/entertaining episode of raw, some decent matches on the card, jericho pwns hbk "Hello retirement", Randy Orton phails WHY?, they really need to put him as the priceless leader, just think Orton as the champ, and priceless as the tag champs, and having that fat somoan guy acting as the muscle in the group, would be epic.
But I really love having sky+ so I can pause the action >_>: action = stephanie McMahon segments

But yeah, on a serious note, not a bad episode, I really hope smackdown makes a good impact >_>

And when there is no hope,
"I'll smoke some crack, I'll shoot some dope!"
    When theres no enemies,
"I sit and stare at my T.V.
    and in my ignorance,
I'll be a slave and sycophant!"
