    Ready To Stop Watching

As a life long wrestling fan I'm sad to say that I'm ready to stop watching the WWE.

It has become incredibly boring. Last nights Raw was one of the worst I've ever seen. The only thing slightly entertaining is Santino! Stale does not begin to describe what has become of the WWE. The lumberjack match was horrible, with one of the worst finishes in recent memory....sort of like the main event. I don't mind DQ's and interference, but let's have a point to it. I can't remember the last time I saw an interesting, exciting, surprising and shocking match on RAW. Hornswoggle splashing Johnny Knoxville just doesn't cut it.

The Divas aren't even sexy anymore. Don't get me wrong...they look hot, but the sexiness just isn't there. We need Mickie James in short skirts (like Velvet Sky) instead of the standard wrestling gear she's wearing. If they suck at wrestling (like they do) at least they should act sexy.

What happened to beatdowns? The WWE has become so tame. It's like even Jerry Lawler has become a total face broadcaster. He's a complete pansy now.

Rant over. I'm giving it a few more weeks and then I'm done.

    Re: Ready To Stop Watching

What do Diva's have to do with watching wrestling matches exactly? And yeah, RAW is stale but it doesn't do much wrestling anymore, it's more there to go ahead and push storylines on leading towards PPV's, that have been epic lately with the NM main events etc. and I wouldn't watch TNA then, that is even worse.

I didn't see much of RAW yesterday, but i'll have to agree with pretty much everything you said. ROH isn't good enough, great wrestling, but wrestling has been around long enough where it should be better. Fans don't want just wrestling thay want the whole package. They want good wrestlers, good matches, good stories etc. Fans want something refreshing to watch and for that the WWE should start pushing new wrestlers now.

It's like wrestlers are going through this whole process of development. Even if they come like a made star from TNA. They start dragging their push. What the WWE should do is bring some real excitement. Push things up a notch, make new stables and make them go ad it with other factions. they should just try something instead of nothing, because their going on with the same old same old crap.

And yes Micky James should dress like before, but still the number one Diva in wrestling is VelVet Sky, in my humble opinion.

    Re: Ready To Stop Watching

Whats boring about the WWE at the moment then factum?

Are you not enjoying the tease of Priceless and Orton? Or seeing them on TV at the moment? There not new stars? Is Kendrick not a new star? There are plenty of talent coming through WWE at the moment so there is that out the window.

Exciting storylines? HBK/Jericho not good enough for you? Hardy title tease not good enough for you? Undertaker/Vickie? Cena Return, Edge return? These are great storylines at the moment, not to mention great midcard stuff like Santino Marella and the Honk-a-Meter.

And good matches? Did you not see No Mercy? Ladder match and the World Title match was excellent aswell! And a possible HHH/Hardy/Koslov match? I cannot wait for that!

WWE are doing what is best for their brand and branching out to the demographic, now thats not only adults, it is kids aswell, with appeal like HBK and John Cena, and great heels for kids and adults alike to boo, people like Orton and Jericho, and adults are getting their fare share of violence and blood aswell with the HBK/Jericho feud.

I'd say that WWE is being very smart right now and although they cannot cater for everyone like mr TC wants them to, they are doing what is best for business and if it doesn't appease some fans, so be it, but I think WWE is very healthy at the moment in it's feuds, wrestling, storylines and talent.

Yeah well, WWE isn't that boring atm, but it has still lost its grip year after year since when I started to watch it. I mean, it's hard to explain, but I just don't enjoy watching WWE in the way I used to do. I mean, yeah, they've had some good, even epic matches this year. Yes, they've made HBK's and Jericho's feud one to watch, but still. How come the only real thing I wait from RAW is to see Santino again?

    I'm even confused myself.

    Re: Ready To Stop Watching

As far as storylines go....HBK vs. Jherico is okay, but how many times are you supposed to watch the same fight over and over? I also don't want to pay top dollar just to see something interesting. More should happen on Raw. It just doesn't. Priceless and Orton? Are you kidding? Who cares? Unless they dominate like Evolution did who cares about 4 guys with zero personality? How the hell anybody could ever be interested in Brian Kendrick is a mystery to me. His new attitude doesn't change the fact that I'm bigger than him.

PPV's shouldn't be the only place to see a good match.

What's boring about the WWE right now is that even in supposed heated feuds things seem rather tame. Even when wrestlers are sending a message it's one cheap shot and done. What happened to beatdowns?

I don't like TNA....I'm saying that at least their womens division is interesting and sexy. No need to pretend they're there for any other reason. If they can't wrestle get them in bra and panties matches...nobody wants to see Kelly Kelly pretending to be a werestler, we wnat to see her in very tiny outfits.

Santino is funny, but Charlie Hass and Hornswoggle splashing Knoxville isn't funny. It's boring and sends me grabbing for the remote and Monday Night Football. Comedy is fine as long as they can balance it with something that thrills. Lately they just don't do that......unless of course you find Batista as a referee thrilling.

Getting insulted for having an opinion seems rather odd. It's nothing personal, KillSteve. It also seems odd to call a guy a **** when he's complaining that the ladies aren't acting sexy enough.

    Re: Ready To Stop Watching

You keep saying sexy. How exactly does wearing a skirt and flashing millions of people equal sexy, but not slutty?
And FYI, that ain't really gonna help the product unless we're going the way of soft core porn.
I, and I'm sure plenty of others, actually liked watching them put on decent women's matches.

Not every group is going to dominate. That's impossible and rather pointless. Not to mention bland.

Yeah, RAW was way shitty this week, but it's storytelling that's leading up to the PPVs where they have plenty more options for creativity. While it's ideal to have perfect skits, interviews and matches each week it's not really possible given how the wrestlers are only human and not even the best of them can please everyone all the time.

I'm not finding the current product to be one that I won't watch. I did turn of in around 2004/5 for a year or two. Maybe you're just burnt out, there is a lot of wrestling on.

WWE always starts sucking bigtime at this time of the year. Either wait until the Spring when they usually start to pick up in quality, stop watching wrestling all together or stop being lazy and make the effort to get into a new promotion. The internet isn't just porn, it's not hard to get your hands on some indy or puro if you put in a little effort.

First off, as you're new here, welcome. And well done of loving Santino. The man is pure genius and any man that enjoys Santino time is a friend of mine. So I want you to understand that what follows is purely my opinion and is not at all a way of making you feel uncomfortable about your opinion.

The Lumberjack Match (HBK vs. Batista) was fantastic. I expected to be bored to tears by it to be honest, but they pulled off an entertaining match that went a decent length and actually set up the mutual respect/handshake moment at the end, which is of course supposed to influence voters in the Cyber Sunday polls (I guess WWE don't want Austin winning by a complete landslide).

I'm actually offended by this. WWE are doing the right thing with their Diva's at the minute by trying to form an actual womens division out of them, like that of TNA's. Mickie James, Beth Phoenix, Nattie Neidhart and Victoria especially are all quite proficient in ring (though of course not at the level of Gail Kim, Awesome Kong or Roxxi) and to suggest that these women should simply be eye-candy for lecherous teenagers is absolutely pathetic. A wrestling show is for wrestling, if you wanna beat one off then check out the internet, I believe there are several million websites that might interest you. Or of course, there's WEW, or that new promotion with Ron Jeremy as commentator which are simply softcore porn and wrestling.

The beatdowns I completely agree about. WWE has tamed, and that's due to the new PG rating it has, and the need to comply to it and bring in a younger audience (this is why we have less blading now as well). I think that it makes the writer's think harder about how to get an angle over without over the top violence, and in the long run helps the creative team develop their skills, and makes the fueds more intelligent, but I think certain fueds (HBK/Jericho being a perfect example) need the freedom to use the good old fashioned beatdown and the ocassional blade-job to promote the seriousness of the matter between the two.

As for Jerry Lawler, he sucks. It's just a fact of life. Haha!!

HBK vs. Jericho is easily the fued of the year, no matter how you look at it. It's given us some great matches and promo's and Jericho has taken his skill to a whole new level of awesomeness, and come out looking like a legitimate World Champion, instead of last time when he looked like a mid-card guy trying the title on for a bit. I agree that the last Michaels/Jericho match should've been post-poned 'til Cyber Sunday (or even Survivor Series) but WWE has a habit of hot shotting things, and I'll allow them this one because the No Mercy main event was so spectacular.

The Priceless/Randy Orton faction tease is exciting because it means a new faction, which WWE desparately needs. And it's a faction of highly talented second and third generation stars, that are currently looking at an opening fued with CM Punk, which should be fantastic and produce some top notch matches. I also feel you're accusation that they have "zero personality" is a little harsh. Manu can certainly fall under that for now (but he's new), Dibiase and Rhodes are really starting to shine when they get mic time, and Orton's promo skills have gone through the roof since his return. He's been truly phenomenal on the mic.

The Brian Kendrick has a ton of skill, and his new gimmick had caught on with many. Just because he's small doesn't mean he should be held back. Should HBK have been held back? Eddie Guerrero? Rey Mysterio? Chris Jericho? No. If Kendrick can grab the ball and run with it, let's see what he's got.

I'd really like an example of TNA promoting a Bra & Panties Match cos I have no recollection of this. The women in TNA can actually wrestle, and even those like Velvet Sky who have limited ability are still entertaining enough in ring to be allowed to wrestle. WWE is a little behind in this ideal, but I think that the disappearance of the "very tiny" outfits is a good thing. I take the women much more seriously now, and in fact think that Kelly Kelly has improved each time she's got in the ring.

Blasphemy!! Charlie Hass is fantastic!! Charlito, The Hass, CHL, Good Ol' Jim Hass, The Great Charli (easily his best yet), The Hasster!! All comedy gold. How they found a personality inside, dull as dishwater Charlie Hass I'll never know, but it's brilliant. :D

As I said before, this is not my way of ripping you apart for having a differing opinion, this is just me expressing my opinion and using your posts as jumping of points.

Please do feel free to disect my post as the entire point of an internet forum for me is arguing points with complete strangers about stuff that really doesn't matter.

That is basically the most honest post I've read in my life. On any message board, and I've read well over tens of thousands.

WWE has gone straight to hell. I need one stable TV show that I follow however, and with Buffy well out of mind and sight and all other basic network programming being shitty there's nothing to replace it with.

    Re: Ready To Stop Watching

It irritates the crap out of me that supposed wrestling fans will only focus on the negative aspects of WWE or TNA. Sure, we all need to speak up when it's annoying us, but WWE at the moment is better than it has been since the collapse of WCW in my opinion and that needs to be put out there. The way I see it, if you don't like it then put across why you don't like it, and suggestions on how to improve it or just don't bother. Negative energy for negative energies sake is pointless.

Not that I'm saying KDB is doing this, if he/she was I wouldn't have been able to write such a massive post about his/her opinions cos they wouldn't have made any.

That's usually been my reason PrOx, but there have been other times where I've been fine with missing WWE shows cos the storylines just haven't appealled to me. These days however I'm watching all WWE and TNA programming simply because I love watching wrestling and I don't wanna miss any good matches or storylines.

I stopped watching in 2007 when I was away at college and didn't get the channel it came on.

    I haven't watched it since.
