Still not totally sure if this belongs in Rising Star or Most Improved category... but, Santana is someone to keep an eye on. He is starting to get significant mic time in AEW now and it looks like there's potential there for a bit of a breakout singles run. He is also set to wrestle Gresham at the second Terminus event. I could see him taking a big next step this year.

It's crazy because over the course of their AEW run, he's actually had quite a few very good promos and it's one of the reasons I hated that they were left in the dark for so long until now

I don't see it. I thought he bombed that segment 2 weeks ago by focusing on talking too and making faces at the hot camera.

For me as a fan. It tunes my out because it takes away from the segment and diverts your attention to. "Whose he talking too? The fuck's he doing?"

This is a hard category for me now. I'm down to 3

LA Knight. I think being a face suits him and his character more.

Wardlow. Continue the dissention and need a breakthrough at some point.

but my vote right now. Priest. I think he starting to find another gear and it's starting to show ALOT in his promo's and match work.

Maybe. But I think it takes away from the segment and puts attention on him.

You’re annoyed that he put the spotlight on himself in a segment built around him and Ortiz saying they were done with Jericho hogging the spotlight?

My suggestion will be another example of 'have they really improved or have they just been pushed more?' but I'd throw Jamie Hayter in. It's still early days but having a chance to take a break from Britt has shown that she's not the typical uncharismatic muscle bodyguard you see. I might revoke this by the end of the year, but I think she's gained more traction for me with her recent appearances, even just on commentary.

I'd say she suits this category more because 'most improved wrestler' to me, isn't just about improving your in-ring skill but becoming more of a 'total package'. Plus, I just feel like Hook will be winning Rising Star, so it's pointless suggesting anyone else haha.

Jade Cargill. Still plenty of work to do but if we are talking improvement from baseline at start of the year to where she is now and not just 'best wrestler', I think she deserved to be in the discussion at this point.

Not sure if they've improved or have just had more opportunities, but man, looking at where 2.0 were this time last year compared to today is insane.

If it weren’t for Hobbs & Starks being hot right now, I’d be down for the unexpectedness of a 2.0 tag title reign. Their post-match promo from DoN sealed it for me.

Same as regards to 2.0. Even if a short reign

Not sure it's quite the right fit since it's not so much about his ring work improving but we don't have a "Biggest Comeback" award so I think given that he won Biggest Fall From Grace and he's positioned himself as the top babyface in WWE moving forward when he gets back from his injury, I feel like Cody is someone I look at with this one.

I know he's divisive but given that this time last year, not many people knew Wheeler Yuta's name. Now, he not only holds the Pure title but has competed in one of AEW's original concept matches, and is part of one of the biggest stables on the brand - would definitely put him on my nomination list.
