On face value you'd say the Fiend to be a strong contender again, but with vomiting black goo, burn victim fiend, jack in the box like structure, Alexa turning on the Fiend and her oozing crown, and 'Lily', it's all gonna end up splitting the vote.

So the sparklers for the end of Moxley/Omega is probably my front runner.

I'm sure Bray will have a lot of chances to top it, but AEW's sparkler bomb is gonna be the early favorite and likely a tough one to knock off at the end. Legendary wrestlecrap.

I feel like AEW/Moxley & Kingston handled sparkler-gate well enough it'll be mostly forgotten about by years end.

Not by me. It’s way too hilarious to forget.

I feel like there should just be a catchall for "Anything Fiend related" at this point.

I think the Fiend stuff can be hit or miss, more often a miss but at least they’re trying to establish ‘lore’. The exploding death match / firework display I think takes it for me because at least with the Fiend stuff you know what you’re going to get and it doesn’t pretend it’s anything else. The whole debacle of the botched ending and then Khan and co trying to explain it away was just so meh to me.

I think anything Fiend/Wyatt should be excluded just because it’s unfair on everyone else.

That being said, AEW must have done the sparklers just so he’d have a run for his money for this award. That edges it just over Orton throwing up the black slime for me.

As much as I hate to not defend The Fiend, can you really call a mistake wrestlecrap tho? I know it sucked but the fireworks were supposed to be better and that was just a technical error. The Fiend stuff was all purposely planned

Yea, no. Fiend stuff isn't in it, imo. There is so much more stuff that deserves to be called out and the Fiend stuff, even with how stupid a lot of it is, has at least some sort of uniqueness to itself.

I would even go so far and say Nia Jax "slipping" on the apron this RAW is more Wrestlecrap than the Fiend at this point.

I think the fact that they worked it into the storyline by saying it was Omega’s bad set-up, immerses it into the storyline and therefore deems it worthy. Remember it wasn’t a mistake according to Tony Khan...

I thought it was the right move and the ensuing promos were awesome. I can still see the case for the actual non-explosion being nominated here though. It was really fucking unfortunate and laughably anticlimactic, no doubt. I do think, like Duke said, I'll be a bit hesitant to nominate a technical error for this if someone truly horrific like the swamp match from last year happens again.

Of course a mistake counts as wrestlecrap. Shockmaster wasn’t supposed to trip over on his debut.

Probably wouldn't have been so infamous if it wasn't for the atrocious bedazzled stormtrooper helmet and hilarious voiceover as well though to be fair.

I would even go so far and say it's much more memorable (and less boring wrestlecrap) because of the fall. If we just had the glitter helmet and Ole's spooky voice-over, it probably wouldn't even stayed in people's minds to be called Wrestlecrap nowadays.

There is literally no doubt in my mind that if the same faults happened at WWE Super Showdown, this wouldn’t even be up for discussion.

I agree, I think it was the trifecta of all those bad things happening that made it so iconic. I wasn't arguing here that mistakes don't qualify as wrestlecrap, I'm just a lot more forgiving of something like Titus Worldslide versus a piece of premeditated garbage.
