Hopefully this year won't be a worst human being contest.

Early nod for Orange Cassidy. Big breakout in AEW last year and arguably one if their most popular talents. But so far this year has been a supporting act in the Miro & Kip/Best Friends feud with most of his singles matches on Dark.

OC wouldn't make it for me. Not sure he's in such an offensive spot or was in such a high spot to qualify. That said, given I only watch AEW, there's no one who really stands out for me. But maybe when someone mentions them I'll be inclined to agree.

Bayley going from a year long champion, to a comedy act not booked at Wrestlemania is one to keep an eye on. As is Keith Lee in the doghouse.

NJPW in general are on a big downswing, and I wouldn't be against voting for a Kota Ibushi who was double champion in January and went on to have a bad run with the title and I'm not sure he'll ever be given that spot on the card again.

People may disagree but Johnny Gargano seems a bit disappointing to me. At one point he was Mr NXT and now I feel like there’s not really any direction for him, he doesn’t seem like a main player anymore. It’s not his skills, it’s just the way he’s been booked, I would say Ciampa suffers the same, what has his storyline been before the WALTER feud (which in itself was very thrown together).

Counter argument - even at the peak of Bayley as champion, she was often relegated to being in an unimportant role on the big shows. How many times was she stuck working someone like Lacey Evans, Ember Moon, or a multi-women's match on a Big Four PPV? She may have not been booked to wrestle at Wrestlemania, but being involved in multiple segments, over the course of both shows, sounds way better than being involved in a five-way or something similar.

Counter counter point - Sasha and Bayley were two of the most heavily used wrestlers in 2020, and their tag team and them spin off feud was one of the main angles of the year, regardless of not main eventing any PPVs, kinda like Orton/Christian.

I think Bayley would of rather wrestled and won a title match in the midcard at wrestlemania, than do talking segments with a racist and then get beaten up by the retired Bella twins.

I believe it was a feud/tag team with Thatcher which definitely isn't peak Blackheart stuff but what he's been doing since putting Kross over last year has been very solid midcard fodder which is kind of fitting for him since he's kinda had his time in the main event of the brand and I think many were ready for him to take more of a backseat. Same goes for Johnny I think. But the thing is, I still think either could believably be shifted into NXT Title challengers and it wouldn't give anyone pause. They're able to fuck around in the midcard and tag team divisions because they're made men in NXT and the fans know it. Seems like a safe bet that by the end of the year there will be a couple of legitimate falls, whether it be someone getting fired unceremoniously or someone who is hot right now sitting at home doing nothing at the end of the year because creative has nothing for them.

Keith Lee, to having two straps in NXT last year and being brought up to the main roster and it appearing that he is going to be a person they're going to put in big things. To this year when I really don't think he's had a single memorable moment. Yes I know he's been out because of "injuries" but nothing was ever stated why.

Didn’t Swann, if anything, have a comeback this year?

I mean given that this could be the last year ever, do we mention Bray Wyatt given his release / a last opportunity to clean up at the awards? While some may argue he wasn’t a big deal or his calibre of work doesn’t make it much of a fall, he’s a former Universal Champion, a merch best seller and has had a lot more invested in them than most.

Seems like a decent shout-out to me, depending on what he does for the remainder of the year, especially when you factor in the fact that his company got rid of him, but kept the gimmick for another wrestler.

Re: 2021 Biggest Fall From Grace Ongoing Discussion

I guess it all depends on how his year ends. If he ends up signing for AEW when his 90 days are up, he's going to feel like he fell upwards, but if he's unemployed he'll be the sure fire winner in my eyes. I think the only one who would touch him is Braun but I think Bray was in a bigger spot in the company.

Velveteen Dream's wrestling career effectively ended this year too, but he feels like someone people gave up on in 2020 when the allegations first came out.
