I'd say my front runner was Daniel Bryan for the first third of the year. The PPV matches in the chamber, the title match with Reigns at Fastlane, and the 3 way at mania were all great 4+ star matches. He also has very good matches with Cesaro and Jey Uso on Smackdown, including cage and street fights with Jey.

Elsewhere I think Sheamus has probably been #2 for WWE, Shingo has been good for New Japan, and Omega and Moxley have been continuing to be the best in AEW, with flashes of greatness from Fenix.

Off the top of my head from AEW I want to say Mpxley but I may also be remembering 2020 matches so I'll have to think on it.

Moxley gives you the Omega title match (great performance other than things out of his control), the tornado tag with Archer against Omega and KENTA which is the stand out TV match he's had (other tags have been fun too), a good match with KENTA for NJPW Strong and then the recent great match with Josh Barnett on Bloodsport. I'd expect Moxley to be a contender for this because he's doing AEW + some interesting indy dates. He's talking his way into a match with Nagata for NJPW so that should rule too.

It was good, but because it came less than 24 hours after the Ciampa match it was hard not to make comparisons and it was a level below that. Still impressive considering Rampage hasn't done anything of note in a long time.

I probably should of added to mine that WALTER's a contender if he's gonna regularly work this year.
