I think it had more to do with wanting to go with the guy they had less film on, tbh.

I'd be a bit surprised if Brees doesn't sign another 1 year deal.
    Everything will surely be alright.

On the subject of QBs stepping in, how good was it to see PJ Walker doing well?

I liked it. Glad to see him do well, considering I liked him in XFL.

Last week, I felt that Gilbert looked pretty good for Dallas, an AAF guy.

I like seeing those kinda guys get some attention.
    Everything will surely be alright.

If Walker's 2 red zone INTs were TDs he'd be blowing up. Just gotta smooth out the edges and I think he could be a legit starter if he gets enough time.

Already much prefer him to captain checkdown.

To make matters worse for us, Ingram and Dobbins have both tested positive for Covid. Which means our entire offence will be Gus Edwards doing dives for 3 yards all game, or Lamar passing a lot... against Pittsburgh.

What a miserable couple of weeks.

That's a big blow for sure. Ingram didn't do anything in the first game in Baltimore anyway, but not having Dobbins who ran for 113 yards against Pittsburgh and averaged 7.5 yards a carry is going to hurt. I think the Steelers will likely be implementing Avery Williamson this week, the MLB from the Jets they traded for. They'll probably use him as a spy for Lamar Jackson because he has the speed for it that Spillane and Vince Williams don't. Keep in mind the Steelers were also without their varsity nose tackle Tyson Aluhau. He'll be plugging up the middle of line making those dive runs for Gus Edwards even more difficult.

I don't know man, as a Steelers fan I'm pretty optimistic. It's a home game, on prime time TV. But, it's still the Ravens. And the Ravens could have their entire team replaced by scabs, and this game would still be crazy because it's Steelers and Ravens football. Division games are so unpredictable, and nobody wants to give the Steelers their first loss more than Baltimore. So we'll see how it goes.

He's really awful. He holds the ball for so long, someone needs to tell him how to throw it away.

I've looked at the rest of their schedule:

    at Steelers
    Cowboys
    at Browns
    Jaguars
    Giants
    at Bengals

If they can put themselves together and win at least 4 out of 6 of those games, they will have a good chance of making the playoffs.

Oh definitely. I've seen some terrible Ravens teams win this game and vice-versa. I was fairly confident about the first game and we lost, and I have little confidence this week so who knows.

If we lose to the Steelers that game in Cleveland is massive given where both teams stand.

Saw some conspiracy theories that the Ravens are faking Covid tests to postpone the match, which may lead to the playoffs being extended to 16 teams. That's big brain stuff right there.

Steelers are very, very good. But they are bound to lose a game or two, I think they lose probably to Bills and Colts. Maybe Ravens?
Cowboys, I mean..They are a mess and a very injured team, but who knows. They might build some momentum after the Vikings win, but I'd give Ravens the upper hand.
Browns really depends. I think Ravens win, but that Browns defense is pretty darn good.
Jaguars should be a relatively easy win.
Giants should be a relatively easy win.
Bengals without Burrow should be an easy win.

The absolute worst I see is them going 3-3 in that stretch. I think they win at least 4, though.
    Everything will surely be alright.

2020 NFL Season - For as long as such a thing can last

    Steelers/Ravens moved to Sunday.

The NFL continues to go out of their way to punish Pittsburgh for things that are completely out of their control. It’s really just becoming a joke at this point. This move also effectively rewards the Ravens by giving them a few extra days to heal up. Mind blowing.

I'm surprised they actually moved it.

Especially when they forced a depleted 49ers team to be slaughtered by the Packers on a Thursday.

Agreed. That was terrible decision making on their part as well.

Also, I’m not upset at the idea of the game being moved. I certainly wouldn’t want to see any Steelers players catch COVID from being in close contact with Ravens players. I’m just upset that this is now the second time the Steelers have been hosed due to circumstances beyond their control. I suppose all I can hope for is that they take out their frustrations on the Ravens this Sunday.

I do find it hilarious that some Ravens fans are whining about how this now forces them to play on a short week anyways, as if playing a division rival on their home field is the same thing as a home game against the Cowboys. Give me a break.

Yeah the weird double standard between moving games or not moving them just makes no sense. The Packers and 49ers both had mini-outbreaks just two days before their kickoff and the NFL still made them play, but they move this one? Is it because they have two more games to fall back on that day?

Possibly, though it’s pretty bad that those have to be the two games they’re falling back on.

EDIT: It appears the Ravens practiced on Monday, after finding out about the players that tested positive. They were wearing masks, apparently, but this is a pretty bad look.

It screws us over in so many ways.

    1. It gives the Ravens more time to prepare for a game they were very much not prepared for.
    2. It takes away our mini bye week. As it stood, we were going to get a few days rest because we don't play again until next Sunday. This was nice because thanks to the FIRST game getting postponed as a result of the Titans not following protocols, they moved our bye week to Week 4 and we've been going iron man since.
    3. The Steelers were going to have fans at Heinz Field on Thursday night, because Tom Wolf (PA Governor)'s new order that would forbid fans from attending games doesn't come into effect until this Friday. Which means Sunday, it is in effect and we'll be playing this game without fans in the stadium. Does it make a huge difference compared to the smaller sized crowd we had already? Probably not, but it still is a blow.

Part of me thinks the NFL just actively wants to screw the 10-0 Steelers over. Undefeated teams are a bad look, and not to mention Lamar Jackson's marketing makes WAY more money than anyone on the blue collar Steelers does, and him losing in primetime and getting essentially pushed back against the wall for making the playoffs is a bad look. But in reality, surely...SURELY the NFL did not want to cancel this game? Primetime on Thanksgiving night is one of their biggest regular season games of the year...maybe second to opening night if anything...but maybe not.

I think they probably lose money off this.

I'm more angry about the game being moved into the generic 1pm slot. Why couldn't it be postponed to Sunday night instead? I'm guessing Monday and Tuesday aren't options since the Ravens play on Thursday next week too...of course we don't want to fuck with their schedule. Why they had to Thursday night games scheduled back to back is beyond me anyway. But I've specifically be picking up more work shifts around the Steelers games. I can work 7-3 or 3-11, and for 1pm games it's absolute trash because either way it screws me out of seeing a chunk of the game. Even with me watching it on my phone at work, I still have to get read and drive to fucking work all in that hour. It's a personal reason, but yeah I'm ticked off about it now.

In this continuing shit show of a story, more Ravens players are testing positive (shock and awe) which is putting the Sunday game in jeopardy. I’d imagine they’ll have to cancel it if there are more positive tests tomorrow. Don’t really want to think about what the scheduling situation will be like if that happens.

Just wait until the playoffs get extended and the number 1 seed doesn't get a bye anymore.

It’ll be the final nail in the coffin of my NFL fandom if that happens, even if the Steelers aren’t the number 1.

I’ve grown more and more disillusioned with the league over the past several years, given their poor handling of everything from concussions to domestic abuse to outright fucking racism from one of their players who received little more than a slap on the wrist. Now that I no longer gamble on sports, there’s really nothing left to keep me going.

I'm significantly more of a casual fan these days but it was hard to take the sport seriously after Goodell came out and said there was no link between CTE and the NFL. Then kind of furthered that point when they shut down the head/brain injury research after it pretty conclusively connected the two.

With the new outbreaks I don't mind if the game is just forfeited, I cannot see how it can be allowed to go ahead without putting both teams at unnecessary risk. Not having spare bye weeks in the season is going to kill the remainder of the season.
