Nigel in the sweet 16? Gotta love it.

Can't take him over Bret here though. Bret probably has him beat in longevity, peak and sheer skillset, right?

    Longevity, no doubt.

Peak vs peak I think is close. The best Nigel vs Danielson matches are as good as anything Bret did. Both guys pretty were pretty elite at their best.

Skillset? Some stuff, sure. Nigel was a better technical wrestler for sure. Also way more charismatic. I'd say he was a more physical worker too (worked stiffer, better bumper).

That said you all will be happy to know I'm voting Bret here regardless.

If this is it for Nigel, he had a good showing. He had a bunch of good years and a couple of great years, which is a bit of an achievement since he was dealing with so many injuries when he was at his highest push.

Bret's longevity means he was producing at Nigel's level for much longer including excelling at tag team wrestling, something McGuinness never put a real focus on.

If Bret goes over, I imagine any subsequent round will be the first time I have difficulty in deciding whether or not to vote for Bret.

Top 16 finish for Nigel seems fair. It acknowledges his peak as being really excellent.

Bret for me, unsurprisingly, but I love Nigel and I'm glad he's gotten a lot of love here.

Nigel's done really well, idk if I'd say top 16 is fair considering he wasn't a first round nomination for a lot of us taking part, feels more of an over-achievement.

Has to be Bret again here. Just has more good years on the clock.

I like Nigel but Bret is hard for anyone to beat. Much more to work with, bigger peaks in both tags and singles matches, etc.

Someone does need to drop Nigel a respect vote here, though.

No. ...maybe he would have gotten one, if he wouldn't have gone over Finlay.
