Alright cool, I am now going to close off nominations as that looks like everyone who is interested has done so

There will be 9 random picks from the one-time nominees to pad out the field, selected using a randomizer.

Apologies for not doing my third wave. My plan was to use that on people that were only the edges of the tournament to help get them over the line so you didn't have to do so many randomly picked ones. Although your way will probably be better to save bias against pre-1990 wrestlers.

Just skimming those brackets, the one that jumps out is Owens vs Piper. That could be a fascinating discussion.

I love that, if they make it through their first round matchups, Tito Santana and Greg Valentine will renew their rivalry in the second round.

Trying to make sure everyone is represented with a legit awesome match in the threads. If you're stuck for something to watch, there's going to be plenty to fill your boots.

Steve shouldn't the abbreviation be WCBNAIRWOATT not WCBNAINWOATT?

I might make a sub-forum for this tournament so it's easier to tweet out.

This is my first time actually looking at the bracket. The main matchup that catches my eye is Matt Hardy vs. Rob Van Dam. To think one of them is going to advance to the next round while we're guaranteed to lose a bunch of vastly superior wrestlers in the first round.

Did Triple H not make it in? That amuses me, for as much as WWE have been trying for years to put him over as one of the GOATs.

Eh. I like Trips. I wouldn't have argued with him making it in over a handful of guys who did. Not to say that I have an issue with anyone who made the cut, either. But the bottom end of the tournament isn't full of in-ring aces. Trips wouldn't have been out of place.

Had he made the 120 cut, Hunter may have been able to advance to the second round depending on who he was paired with. With his large collection of shit matches, even with his classics, he would have struggled against anyone who was consistent.

He'd of also beaten out David Starr as you don't have to love Britwres to like Triple H

I think you only have to look at the Undertaker thread to see what would have happened to Triple H (and Taker has far more goodwill than HHH too). I said in that thread, they're similar guys when looking at their body of work. Not to the same degree you can lump guys like Edge and Orton with them. They're the reason why I think just looking at volume of great matches is a fairly narrow minded view of what makes a great worker great.

I'd agree that Hunter and Taker are similar. At the same time, it's not as if Taker is having a bad first round performance. Although he is currently behind in the poll, there's still four days left and he could still end up winning. Against the right guy, Hunter could win a first round match as well.
