I'm sure Andy Q is gonna be in touch to get Gulak down to Rev-Pro. His kind of wrestler.

Shame really since the stuff with Bryan has been pretty good. Wouldn’t shock me if he does find his way to AEW eventually. Reckon he’ll be a solid addition to the roster.

Shit news for Gulak but looks like he had hit his ceiling as far as he was ever going to go in WWE. I'd like see AEW pick him up - Gulak vs all their top guys sounds cool, he brings something much needed to their roster, and we've already had years of Gulak slumming it on the indies.

Since it's just a contract expiration, it could be a good pick-up for AEW to have him pop up on this week's Dynamite.

No idea why WWE would book him to be on TV when he was set to no longer be under contract minutes later.

All is well, if he wanted to leave. But...damn.

I could see him in just about any promotion, tbh. Most guys seem to fit one or two places...but, I could see him in NJPW, AEW, MLW, NWA, etc. Any of those places would be a good fit for my personal interests. Not really keen on the idea of him going to RoH or Impact...so, hopefully that isn't the case. But, yeah...any of those others would be beyond solid.

Well...i doesn't mean he wouldn't come back as a trainer at some point.

Really strange this one, and a shame as well. Was really enjoying the pairing with Bryan and assumed there was bigger plans for Gulak in the WWE. I guess not.

I read a report that he wanted a pay-rise to resign with the company, and WWE said they couldn't do that after releasing people and with them 'open' to cuts and saving money, they withdrew the original terms that were offered too. Unsure if there's any truth to this at all.

Either way, not many people leave WWE on a 'high' but he leaves after some really good matches and performances. A good signing for someone.

Looks like Gulak is back with WWE, he's been added back to the roster page

Slightly disappointing, but guaranteed money is everything right now so don't blame him.

Did WWE ever announce he had left? Bit weird they removed him from the roster section if contract negotiations were still going on.

Don't believe it was ever formally announced. Can't really blame Gulak given the current climate. Maybe he just signed for a year or something. Will be interesting to find out.

Re: Several WWE Releases Amidst Coronavirus Cost-Cutting

WWE is weird, man. It's kind of depressing to see so many people come right back to them.

They probably just wanted to cut guaranteed downsides and renegotiate cheaper contracts with people.

Like...you already have Drake Maverick back in this tournament after he was released. And now you have Kurt Angle reffing a cage match on NXT. And now, this...with Gulak. I mean...it's great if those people knew what WWE was doing, and knew they would have new contract negotiations coming their way, or whatever...but, if they were straight up released and then WWE turned right around and said "yeah...we still want to use you"...that's kinda weird.

Maybe this has to do with the rumor that Vince doesn't care if AEW signs guys from WWE anymore? Maybe instead of lengthy contracts, they're starting to lean towards short ones, or no contracts at all?

Re: Several WWE Releases Amidst Coronavirus Cost-Cutting

I'm pretty sure with Angle and Maverick, they're just doing what's most cost effective for them, while still trying to leverage a good angle out of Maverick and idk, I guess pop a rating with Angle (though I'm not sure he has that power at this point).

In Gulak's case, I'm thinking he got paid. He let his contract end to put the fear in WWE and got a deal that works better for him out of it. That's my theory. Could be totally wrong.

The Observer are reporting that Nigel McGuinness is amongst those furloughed.

Makes sense given he's presumably in the UK and therefore can't work.

Feel like he'll definitely be back. So...not a huge issue there.

Personally, not a big fan of his commentary anyway. But...that's irrelevant, I guess.
