So what jumps out at me first of all is the running theme of this HOF that Edge will not get inducted 9 years after his retirement

I think Jushin Liger will be an absolute lock for my nominations now he has officially retired. I'll vote for Stan Hansen as usual.

Following Steve's thread will probably increase my chances of voting for Kawada and Tenryu.

Kawada will be number one on the list for me.

I might go a bit wild with it and suggest Dory Funk Jr. One of the more notable NWA champions behind Flair and Race. I'd put him third on that list honestly. A big star of his era in both America and Japan along with Terry Funk. His influence is heavy amoung his trainees such as Jumbo Tsuruta, Tenryu, even guys like Bob Backlund. We need more classic names on this list and he's about as classic as you can get.

Liger is a given, of course.

Jushin Thunder Liger should definitely get on there. Anyone who's familiar with his career should know his name deserves to be mentioned.

Kane is another candidate that should be considered. Kane's moved on from Corporate Kane to Mayor Jacobs, so this is a good time for him to be inducted. Austin, Rock, Michaels, Undertaker, Foley, and Triple H are all there. It's time to get the Big Red Monster the enshrinement he deserves.

Third... could be a lot of people. Is it time for our first woman inducted? Lita? Trish Stratus?

Kane is a name I can get behind, Christian as well, Goldust, Brian Pillman, Eric B as well

Liger should be a shoo-in for this year, Hansen and Kawada too.

Think I've been pimping Kawada for about five years on this now. He's still my choice and has been way overdue.

Liger is an easy choice this year too.

Final choice would be Hansen, with Tenryu as an honourable mention.

This seems easier than most years, cannot think of anyone with the resume to come close to those four.

I’d be down for Kawada, I’ve been down for his induction for a few years now. One group I’d like to see get in are the British Bulldogs.

Think I'll give up on Big Daddy this year and focus my BritWres energy on someone else.

Liger will definitely get a vote from me.

I believe Manami Toyota might have got a few votes last year?

If any woman finally gets in, it should be Toyota.

I also thought about mentioning Kane, so I can get behind that idea. Liger should be pretty much locked this year. I'm going to throw Batista also into the mix and wanna mention Rick Rude as a possibility to think about.

Rude is a good shout, I’m pretty sure I’ve nommed him a few times

I thought about Christian as my third before I mentioned the idea of inducting a woman.

I'd hold off on Goldust, simply because we have Dustin Rhodes in AEW and I believe his best work is yet to come.

I know you seem pretty keen on Toyota as a female inductee but I'll throw the C-word out there - CHYNA - I don't think any woman had broken the glass ceiling like she did in her day both from a pop culture and a wrestling perspective.

Chyna is definitely up there for me as well but I think it'd be a crime if the first woman inducted isn't from Zenjo or along those lines at the very least. The ladies in Zenjo broke the glass ceiling too (imo) and were definitely miles better than Chyna at wrestling and were certainly pop culture figures of their time too. Manami Toyota is the greatest face women's wrestler of all time for my money. She also has far, far higher quality matches than Chyna ever had.

I do think there's a place for them both but I certainly would prefer Toyota or a Zenjo girl over Chyna at this point in time.

I think for me it comes down to, many people genuinely see Manami Toyota as being the best wrestler of all time and I dont think anyone in the world thinks that of Chyna.

Toyata would get the nod over Chyna for me. Akira Hokuto as well.

Re: 2020 Hall of Fame Ongoing Discussion

I mean we can all pull the better wrestler card but you also inducted John Cena last year, so intuition tells me the basis for HOF isn't purely wrestling.....

As another suggestion, I know it's limited to three and it seems really hard (maybe it's because it's the first and only time I've joined this discussion) but Howard Finkel - it seems as right a time as it would ever be for him to get a mention.

Re: 2020 Hall of Fame Ongoing Discussion

I don't think Chyna is even the most logical attitude era female considering there was a woman that was 100x more popular (Sable).

Fink seems reactionary. I wouldn't feel comfortable considering him when I don't think he would have gotten a mention before today.
