I think there's potential for The Fiend to take this out by years end. 2019 he was turned into an unbeatable monster that no sold everything, The McMahons will probably get bored of him soon, there's just so little you can do with The Fiend as it once was. He needs to returned to 'normal' so he can actually have feuds and matches.

He's at his worst when he's having matches though.

He's more tolerable when he's just having regular bad matches as opposed to bad and dumb matches full of no selling everything, and all the other crap that comes along with The Fiend.

How did KENTA never make this list?

Omega could have been a shout, but I feel he's definitely turned it around now.

Timothy Thatcher is going to go from being one of the best wrestlers in the world in 2019 to being on a police missing persons list in 2020, so he's a front runner for me.

I have a feeling my girl Shayna gonna be given the Asuka/Shinsuke treatment as she got her legs cut off underneath her following WM.

I assume you mean the earlier years, not this year. I doubt many were watching 2014 NOAH to even see a fall from grace honestly. You could argue it was a step up for him in terms of exposure until the injuries.

    Yeah, earlier years.

From NOAH where he was red hot, to those early NXT years where he was so underwhelming in every way to me. And then he was released.

hottest free agent at the time, to a release. I mean- that's some fall from grace by how high his standards were.

I mean I hate to be the one to say it. But with the way things are at the moment. Could we say the independent scene as a whole? because apart from WWE and AEW who are running shows. Everything else has shut down for now due to Corona.

In my opinion, yes but with an optimistic "but".

Short term, companies will go out of business and that's sad. However, the silver lining is that there's still gonna be a demand for wrestling once events are able to proceed, and there's gonna be a lot of talent no longer tied down to exclusivity contracts dying for work.

Hopefully as many companies survive as possible, but we also must be realistic that it may be quite some time before this happens. Even if restrictions are relaxed, public gatherings like wrestling shows are gonna be far down the list of priorities to return to business (unless you have the finances to bribe an entire state).

Shayna Baszler due to booking has fallen hard. Shawn Spears feels like a front runner to. Hell even Corbin :/

Shall we just rename this the Biggest Sex Pest award this year?

Re: 2020 Biggest Fall From Grace Ongoing Discussion

I think David Starr is who has fallen the furthest. He was legitimately a wrestler of the year contender in the last few years, he's been a bedrock of British wrestling and was probably the most essential wrestler on the indies because he wasn't going to be signed away, and he was fighting for the rights of better treatment of wrestlers with his union work and lefty beliefs - now that's all gone, he's been exposed as a criminal and a bullshitter and that quality work has probably gone forever now. Sure Joey Ryan is also a scumbag, but nobody held that dickhead in high esteem and wanted to see him wrestle before this happened anyway, Will Ospreay has always been an idiot and will continue to be booked by New Japan so he's not going anywhere, Jimmy Havoc was done as a wrestler 5 years ago, no-ones (except maybe Dave) has cared about CHIKARA in donkeys years. Starr's the one where I'm gonna miss his work the most, and his exposure has left me angry/disgusted/let down the most.

I guess we can add Tessa Blanchard to this list. Not so much so as the others I believe and it also depends on what she does next. AEW really needs her.

Tough times don't last, tough people do.

The fact that she was a World Champion for six months of the year should automatically rule her out of this.

I think Tessa is a really good shout. Last year she was the first person to get people excited for Impact in forever, and looked destined to be a big star in wrestling. She won multiple awards on our forum in 2019 too.

She's going to end 2020 out of the US wrestling scene and it's difficult to see a way back for her.
