    NFL 2020 NFL Offseason Thread

Hey it's the offseason. Talk about football, but not actual football being played, more like hypothetical football.

I'll start. Drew Brees announced he's coming back to New Orleans next year.

Brees coming back is the predictable QB decision I think. The interesting ones will be Dak, Brady, and how much someone is willing to give to Bridgewater.

I'd say Dak and Brady are just as easy to predict as Brees was.

Neither of them are going anywhere.
    Everything will surely be alright.

I definitely don't think Dak will go anywhere but from what I gather his demands are quite steep.

Jerry should have prioritized him to begin with, and either way paid him during the last season.

They have the money, and should pay him. It's the best for both parties.

As for Tom, his main desire is more wins and championships. He wants more weapons instead of money, and his best shot at that is likely to just stay in New England.
    Everything will surely be alright.

It's not just about the weapons. It's about the defense as well. And quite honestly, I think Tom just wants his last few years to be a bit more fun.

Honestly, I think Tennessee and Tom Brady fit like a fucking glove. Not sure why it's not happening honestly.

Cause Tannehill looked better than Brady in the last month of the season? There's a better match for Tom right there in that same division, and it'd be a real fun subversion on his career to end up with the Colts.

Don't think he's going anywhere though.

What do you guys want to see from your team? People to re-sign, people to go after in Free Agency?

Wide recievers, so fucking bad. I want us to sign one in free agency and draft one in the first round. Take no prisoners, surround Aaron Rodgers with talent, give LaFleur lots of toys to play with. My dream scenario probably involves signing Emmanuel Sanders and drafting Jalen Reagor or Justin Jefferson. This is a great WR draft, there's no reason there won't be a good one sitting at 30 for the Pack to take.

Aside from that, for smaller moves, use the draft and free agency to shore up the linebacking corp and add a little more juice to the secondary. The Packers finally have a pass rush but everyone saw them get gashed by the run in the Championship, so we need more authority in that part of the field. I'm also not opposed to a draft-and-develop QB in the later rounds if there's someone Gutekunst likes. It is time to start thinking about it, though I'm not one of the alarmists who thinks the Packers need to make a change at that position right now (and yeah I've seen 'em).

A quality wide receiver is the priority for Baltimore too. I love Hollywood, and of course Andrews is brilliant in a pinch too, but we could do with a real reliable top receiver that scares the opponents. It's the one weakness in the offence and makes playing from behind difficult. There's about a zero percent chance of it happening but AJ Green would be ideal for this team. I think they'll just draft for the WR though.

I think the only question mark is whether Judon is there next season or not.

Dez Bryant as WR2 opposite Michael Thomas. Re-sign Taysom Hill. Re-sign Vonn Bell. Re-sign one of our FA linebackers. Draft a RB in case Kamara holds out.

The steelers dont have much cap, so I really dont know what to hope for except to pray that Ben's elbow is okay and the he doesnt get hurt again next year. Other than that I look to the draft, supposedly a really deep WR class, which I think the Steelers should take at some point. Juju had a bad year and I'm questioning his ability to be a number one. Diontae Johnson had a good rookie year and I think he'll be good down the line, other than that though I'm worries about the offense.

James Conner being injured every week doesnt help either, but I like what I saw from the backs behind him like Benny Snell. Definitely have a championship defense, just need more firepower on offense.

I do think there's something to the idea that Tom just wants a more laid-back atmosphere for his twilight years. He can literally make $25-$30 million a year in Las Vegas and put in like 70% of the workload and be loved while leading the Raiders to a 9-7 record.

As a Panthers fan, I know we're going to suck next year so I'm just hoping for good young pieces to build around and that Matt Rhule proves to be the right decision as coach.

I think in a few years, Rhule should get that place going pretty well.

I think Brady eventually stays with New England. Because I want him to leave, and it never works out to how I want it.

What teams do you think will have the biggest changes in 2020?

Biggest turn around? Most regression? Surprise teams?
    Everything will surely be alright.

    Re: 2020 NFL Offseason Thread

Dunno how much of an impact they can make in one year, but the Dolphins have loads of draft picks and cap space. I don't think they'll be in the playoffs, but they'll be a long way from where they were in 2019 (particularly the start of the season). Plus they're in a division that feels like it's very much in transition at the moment. I like Kyler Murray so maybe the Cardinals will push on next year?

In terms of regression, I'm less sure of that one. I think a lot of the teams I expect to be bad next year (like the Panthers) were pretty bad this year too.

From my team's perspective, I think all of the AFC North will be better this year than last. Steelers surely won't be as unlucky with injuries, Browns cannot be as hopelessly coached as they were, and the Bengals will have the number 1 draft pick. Ravens will probably be about as good as they were, maybe a bit of regression there - with the divisional rivals getting better I think the record won't be as impressive.

In terms of regression? Likely New England, Minnesota, New Orleans, and the Rams continue to slide.
