Will check that one out, don't think I've seen it.

I've been binging on the 2014 season the past week or so, which has been loads of fun.

i loved those early 2010s texans teams, rick smith gets a ton of shit but those texans teams were super well built, and had they had a bit more luck with injuries and stuff they've could've gone a lot further.

sucks that schaub's and foster's careers imploded so quickly and so badly.

Just looked at the list, it looks about how I figured it would. Good selections.

I would say Harrison Smith over Eric Berry easily as Berry has barely seen the field the last 4 seasons but that aside it's pretty much as it should be

Dallas needs a corner... CJ Henderson, maybe? Everyone points to receiver, but we gave up that right when Amari cashed in and Dak held out. I really need defense this round, and a defensive end of a corner makes a lot of sense for Dallas.

The receivers class is really, really good so I wouldn’t complain, but we lost Byron Jones and that hurts. Awuzie and Brown aren’t gonna cut it on the sidelines and Jourdan Lewis is a pure slot guy. Unfortunately, it only takes one injury to be gasping for life.

    Re: 2020 NFL Offseason Thread

Keeping on my 2011 Texans rewatch on the free Game Pass. They start out 2-0 whooping up on a Colts team that was without Manning and then a winless Dolphins team in week 2. Then they blow the lead to prime Drew Brees in game 3 in what was a spectacular game.

Game 4 was not one I remember well but watching it now it was outstanding. They hosted the defending AFC Champ Pittsburgh Steelers. This was a revenge game for Duane Brown, who made his NFL debut against Pittsburgh two years earlier in a game where James Harrison completely embarrassed him and took him to the school house. In this rematch Duane knocks Harrison out of the game with a helmet to helmet hit. This was a hard hitting low scoring game that I really enjoyed. The Texans scored the go ahead touchdown late with Arian Foster burning Troy Polamalu on a long touchdown run. Polamalu came back on a war path on the Texans next drive almost single handedly shutting the Texans down to give Pittsburgh a chance to tie it up. Rookie JJ Watt hits Big Ben low and almost ends his season with a shot to the knee. Texans hold on to win it 17-10, what a huge victory for this team at that point. They improve to 3-1.

Game 5 I'm finishing up now at home against the Raiders the day after Al Davis passed away. The big thing about this game was this was where Mario Williams was lost for the season with a torn pec. People talk about the Schaub injury as the big what if for the 2011 Texans but to me the Mario Williams injury was way bigger impact. This was Wade Phillips first year as DC, he had a 3-4 defense with JJ Watt and Antonio Smith as the DE's with Mario Williams as an outside edge rusher for the one and only time of his career and for these first 5 games he was really thriving in that position, he was leading the AFC in sacks up until his injury. He was completely dominating this game until the injury. This defense also had Demeco Ryans and Brian Cushing(who had a DPOY caliber season that year) with Jonathan Joseph at corner. There's really no telling how far this defense could have gone with Mario Williams staying healthy that year.

We end up losing this game to a Raider team that was coached by Hugh Jackson and Jason Campbell at quarterback. Ugly stuff. We were losing 25-20 and Schaub gets us down to the goal line with 9 seconds left and he has a chance to run in the game winner but makes the most bone headed throw of his career, an interception that seals the loss. For all his gaudy numbers it was plays like this were the reason why I just never did like Matt Schaub. It seems like I have more fond memories of David Fucking Carr than Schaub, whenever his name comes up its plays like this that are the first thing to come to my mind, there were a lot of them.

Kind of makes me sick to my stomach to relive this season and seeing what could have been without these injuries, Andre Johnson went down in the Pittsburgh game I can't remember how long he was out for but it was a significant amount of time. We lose Mario Williams for the year the next week and then later we lose Schaub. I've always looked at the 2012 season where we threw away the #1 seed late in the year as our big missed opportunity/what if year but man this 2011 squad has to be one of the best "what if" teams that was just snake bit with injuries in recent times. If these guys all stay healthy this was a 13-3 or 14-2 team that finishes #2 if not #1 seed in the AFC and makes the AFCCG if not the Super Bowl. Sad

    breaking news!

Gronk has been traded to Tampa Bay for a fourth-round pick. Rob Gronkowski is coming out of retirement and playing with Brady.... WOW!

Pending a physical, this will make Brady's (and Gronk's) first season in Tampa very interesting.

Anyone here planning on watching the NFL Draft tonight? I figure I'll give it a shot since it may be the last "live" sporting event we get for awhile.

I've been following the off-season fairly closely so far, and I just can't see past Joe Burrow and Chase Young going first and second overall, unless someone trades up for the Redskins pick. After that, it becomes a bit of a crap shoot, contingent on potential trades, so it could be pretty fun. Plus, I'm interested to see how they're going to incorporate booing Goodell into it.

I think I might stay up for a bit to catch it.

Can't see past Burrows and Young as the first two picks

I normally watch the first round. I'm most interested in what happens with Tua. I still think the dolphins take him but everything seems to be up in the air there

I read they might trade up to ensure they get him.

Don't think it'll be necessary but either way I'd be surprised if he lands anywhere else

    Canned heat maybe? Hahaha

This draft looks pretty predictable on paper tbh. Unless there's a blockbuster trade I don't see there being a crazy "Darius Heyward Bey 9th overall to the Raiders" like pick or it having that shock factor. I'm interested in seeing where Jordan Love could go. I'm hoping he drops to the Colts in the 2nd (34th pick) but the analysts comparisons to Mahomes along with the lack of in depth scouting that comes with the combine can also lead a team to absolutely reach for him.

No surprises to start off with Burrow and Young going 1/2. Now we gotta see how this Tua saga plays out.

Tbf Vayne is right. Why is this draft taking so damn long? It's been almost an hour for 5 picks.
