Re: The 2019 WC AEW/Indy/Puro/Lucha Fave Five!

It's funny seeing them listed back to back, but Nick Aldis is so much better as a character and feels more of a main event act than Jay White. Glad to see Booty gave him some props. He's turned into a late bloomer, imagine if he had his promo ability and presence down when TNA were pushing him hard 6 or so years ago.

On the subject of White, I don't think there's a wrestler I go out of my way to avoid the matches of more than that man. I skipped an Ibushi at the dome show performance because he was in the match. I'm not even interested to know how well a match great wrestlers can get out of him. He's like the Charlotte Flair of NJPW, totally forced push, just throwing every accolade at them quickly and hoping it sticks.

I hope we're gonna get luchasaurus without the mask and gimmick one day, but there's a really promising big man wrestler there but I cannot take the man pretending to be a dinosaur seriously when it comes time to do anything other than lively jungle boy tags.

I forgot to send in a list my bad Mitch, but Luchasaurus, Aldis, and Question Mark would have been in my consideration. I want to like Jay White because I like his aesthetic and his theme music but I just can’t get into him tbh

Re: The 2019 WC AEW/Indy/Puro/Lucha Fave Five!

I don't watch enough indy wrasslin' to send in a list, but I'm delighted that ?THE QUESTION MARK? got a shoutout. Him and Aron Stevens are the best part of NWA, though Nick Aldis is a very close second. Goofy campy wrestling everyone joins in on and accepts wholeheartedly is fun. Props to Fuji & Booty for giving ??? and Aldis a shoutout.

Speaking of such, Luchasaurus is my jam. Dude's got one of the best hot tags in wrestling nowadays. While the dinosaur persona might be giving him a ceiling - honestly a ceiling is only as high as the company puts it, which basically means shut up and put the world title on the big-ass dinosaur who can do backflips and karate kicks - it helps him stand out and gives him a clear aesthetic, instantly pinpointing him out in a crowded area.

Gresham would of made my top 10, there's just a lot of companies in play here.

The more I see of MJF, the less impressed I am. The guy is confident and has the right cadence in his mic work, but his content can be pretty tame, heel i'm better than you 101 shit.

    Yuji is the man.

Re: The 2019 WC AEW/Indy/Puro/Lucha Fave Five!

I've grown to like Cody quite a bit, maybe he'd of been in my top 10.

Ibushi is a fantastic wrestler but his weird booking has caused him to tumble down my favourites list. I guess I'd say the same about Zack Sabre Jr, although he's more a case of he does nothing interesting in NJPW.

Darby is amazing and glad Zero agrees

Tessa made me like intergender wrestling, probably the closest a woman came to being on my list.

Who knew I'd grow to like Takeshita more than admiring his mechanical effort. It was shaky for awhile but I'm glad I settled on him for my #1.

The closest person I had on this group to put in my fave five was Ibushi. God I love him

I'm surprised to see Takeshita as a number 1 but good on him. Always been fun imo.

Yeah, I am the same with Ibushi.

One great NJPW wrestler and Kazuchika Okada, nice.

I stopped watching NWA quickly, but I can imagine Stevens is someone that excels on the TV format of the show with his character work.

I'm not bowled over by Adam Page's character, but it's working and giving him some personality which frankly was never there when he was in the Elite, he was always the odd man out in the group because he was so bland and seemed the least over out of any of them. A month ago I feared he'd join the spooky cult but they seem to be going in a different kind of teased heel split direction which is much more interesting.
