That is also true my main point was that if Dave wants Finlay he’s gonna get Finlay. In no world do I think they are gonna force Hunter in against Dave’s wishes.

Yup. Batista is the good and sensible choice for WWE Hall of Fame. He should be in that list soon.

I’m not his biggest fan but I can’t deny he’s more than worthy to go in imo. It’ll be fun to hear more stories from him and Ron Simmons about Teddy Long, if we get that.

I hear this induction is sponsored by the Be a Star campaign.

Considering the rumors over the last few days that The APA were going to be inducted instead, I'm far more cool with JBL being inducted on his own. I've hardly been a big JBL fan, but he makes loads more sense than The nWo or The Bella Twins.

Assuming the rumors are correct, I'm far more excited for one that hasn't been announced yet though.

It's staggering how many people aren't getting the Bella Twin induction. You can not like them as wrestlers, but to say the induction doesn't make sense is just weird.

JBL had a decent career for WWE covering many roles, I'm surprised it took this long for them to ask him.

Considering they were recently active, it is kind of weird to immediately induct them. As far as turnover from when they were regular talent to getting in the HOF, they have some of the fastest turnover. I don't have much of an issue with inducting them despite my opinion on their in ring talent. I've hardly kept my views of how HOF inductions shouldn't take place so soon after a career is over. Case in point, Eddie Guerrero.

May not like JBL as a person but, I can give him credit as a wrestler and in the booth where I feel he was a great heel. JBL is a dick in real life but there are plesnty of pople that are dicks that got into HOF. Hogan, Nash, Hall, Gunn, numerous others. I don't think the Bella's should of gotten in yet before a number of women looking at Lay-Cool, Victoria, Mickie James, and so on though.

When you consider JBL transformed himself from a tag team guy that was never anything more than a low card guy when in singles competition to a main event that had a long run with the WWE title, he does deserve some recognition.

Sure he has moments of being a royal dick but this is WWE they'll never pay reference to that.

I'm looking forward to his speech too as he is a pretty damn good talker but I bet he only gets 10 mins so NWO can get 45 haha.

It certainly doesn't have anything to do with being shoved into that spot overnight and kept there despite falling TV ratings and PPV buyrates.

    Only nerds care about ratings.

JBL gave me some of my favorite matches of the era against Guerrero, Cena and Taker. He went to the border and attacked immigrants. He wore a halo with a cowboy hat elevated above his head. He and Ron beat the shit out of Public Enemy. He threw that trash can at Hornswoggle that one time.

Is that a controversial take or something? You gotta take into account I was a kid when JBL was on top of Smackdown, and I was also a huge Taker mark. So I was always going to enjoy their match(es?). Add in a little blood and plunder and that's all it took for me.

NXT UK seem to be hinting they're doing something with Crufts today. British Bulldog announcement?

I honestly don't know if I can recall ever hearing someone praise any of the Taker/JBL matches before.

I’d have to go back and re watch stuff, cause it’s been a while. Especially the wwe champ run. I remember hating him and his cabinet at first, then later liking things about them. The border stuff was crazy. He was the perfect ahole invading the 1st one night stand ppv. The trash can bit was during the Belfast brawl at WM 24. I remember watching that live and laughing really hard.

Re: WWE Hall of Fame 2020 Inductees

JBL was good until the bell rung. Then he was a mediocre/poor talent that in two years of main event positions, had two really good matches. Everything else was average or bad.

He's an obvious HOF candidate but he wasn't any good
