Good looking line up so far, some fresh faces this week. Hope they give the tag title finals the main event slot.

I'm also hoping the tag titles get the main event slot, bound to be a hell of a match. Everything Cody and Jericho have done up to this point has been absolute gold as well.

The 6-man tag match seemed random, but they posted a promo of Kip cutting a promo on their twitter about the match, and it did a lot to explain why the match is happening, and what Kip, Angelico, and Evans are hoping to accomplish with a win here. My problem with Kip was that with his performances vs Sammy and Page, it just seemed like a poorly constructed match and moves happening for no reason. Hopefully he comes across better on tv now because honestly I think he cuts a pretty good promo.

Sammy/Page should be fun as well.

Hager said on Instagram that he would be "in action" on this episode. I don't imagine he'll be wrestling since it hasn't been advertised but that would be kinda sick to get a match out of him.

I think they should and will close with the tag titles match, but you never know with how hot the interest is in Cody/Jericho, that might end the night on a more explosive point.

show seems a bit short of matches but I suppose they still have a day and change to announce more.

    Torn on Page vs Guevara.

Adam Page has been in a bad slide since losing to Jericho in the world title match, so a win is big for him. But, a young guy like Guevara getting a win over Page would be even bigger. If he can secure a win over the Hangman he'll get some serious momentum, and Chris Jericho's Inner Circle stable will look even stronger (something that might be good for them after getting embarrassed last week by Cody and his crew).

Page is one of my favorites and he really needs a win, so I'm rooting for him, but this match is gonna be a huge momentum swing for whoever wins.

The matches look okay. No real interest in them but the Cody vs Jericho contract signing looks like it could be fun. I wonder if it'll just be the usual contract signing with a table being flipped or if they'll come up with some new.

Mox will have a live mic apparently, so looks like we are doubling up on the promos tonight haha. Chuck/Trent/Orange Cass are slated to be in 6-man tag action as well. Wonder what we'll see on the women's side of things tonight with the Brandi attack last week, and Shida is now officially in the US.

Re: AEW Dynamite On TNT - 30/10/2019

Damn, no live chat tonight? I had some stuff to do that kept me from watching live but I watched the show as soon as I got home.

Interesting call by commentary saying Guevara vs. Page could be a main event match up 10 years from now. 10 years? Damn, give them a little more credit than that. As a match, it's exactly what I expected from these two. Which was good for the opener but it didn't set the world ablaze. Tough decision on this one because it feels like both of these guys needed to win here but I guess Page more so since he's supposed to be an actual impact player right now and Guevara is still on the come up.

I'm kind of unsure how to react to AEW signing this Shanna girl. I've never heard of her, she seems like a good enough wrestler but like, most of this women's roster can't get on Dynamite as it is. However, I will say, I kinda like that not everyone is on the show every week. So maybe I shouldn't complain. Good to hear Shida is here to stay now. She's definitely gonna win that Women's Championship and I don't think it's gonna take long to do so. This match was actually probably better than the opener. Good job by both ladies.

Bro where the hell did this Brandi Rhodes character come from? I was damn near laughing out loud at that vignette because it was just so fucking out of nowhere. Obviously, it all has something to do with Kong which quite honestly doesn't help matters because I'm passed the point of really wanting an Awesome Kong run. Not a fan of this whole thing right now to say the least.

Man that attack on The Rock n' Roll Express got Santana and Ortiz some serious heat. I'm not really clamoring to see Morton and Gibson wrestling in AEW but using them in this capacity is a great way to get Santana and Ortiz over, so I'm all for it.

The Best Friends and Orange Cassidy versus The JOB Squad 2019 was really just… nothing to me. I love Rick & Morty so it was sorta cool to see the crossover here but yeah. It just a segment more or less.

LOVED the contract signing. Both guys were over huge, Jericho getting heat and Cody being adored. Jericho's attire was on point with the pumpkin shirt and leather pants. I really appreciate that they avoided the typical contract signing tropes and came up with a unique angle. Hager battering Dustin helps increase his stock and made him look like a real savage.

The Elite vs. Sabian and TH2 was a spotfest, just as we all would have predicted. I honestly don't think it did much at all to improve Sabian's standing, so I don't know what all the hoopla was for leading into this.

Finally they let Moxley speak! And look what happens… he absolutely hits it out of the park! What a fucking promo.

The main event was a great attempt at an epic but it was a bit botchy and the ending felt really anticlimactic. But looking passed past that, the match was well booked and full of excitement. I actually like SCU taking the titles here. They will be a better opponent for Santana and Ortiz, who I assume will be the next challengers, and The Lucha Bros can be used more in singles work hopefully. This could even lead into some friction down the line somehow, with Daniels upset he couldn't be a part of this crowning moment. We'll see.

Overall I felt this week was a step up on last week for sure. It was great to get multiple promos for once. I was also pleased to have some fresh faces competing in the obligatory one women's match this week. They still have some work to do in both of those respects but it's good to see a step forward there. Negatives of the show, I felt, were cramming in the Rick & Morty hype, which just felt so out of place, and of course the Brandi thing.

Watched it upto the Elite match and bounced. I can't be dealing with Omega and his comedy. Will watch the main event later. The matches were okay. Page vs Guevara was exactly what I expected. Average. Just glad it didn't go too long. Shida vs Shanna was awkward for large part but they seemed to click near the end. I didn't like the Cody limousine segments. They weren't enjoyable to watch. Those things work for people like Ric Flair and people who are naturally partyish unlike Cody. The contract signing was good though.

Did anyone else feel like the audio was poorly mastered last night? I could barely hear Cody/Tony in both the opening and limo segments, while JR and Excalibur at the beginning were completely muffled.

Re: AEW Dynamite On TNT - 30/10/2019

I don't know what the AEW Dark results were, but yeah this was the first show that was a major miss for me. Shida/Shanna was just waaaay too long for what it was meant to accomplish. Not really a fan of Bucks/Kenny pulling video game themed shit off again in like what, less than 6 months? The video of Cody/Schiavone on their way to the arena was waaaayyyyy too long. It accomplished fuck all too. Then the 6-man job match was kind of lame too, but at least I understood the purpose of it. Also the ending to the main event was so anti-climactic to me.

Indifferent on the Brandi stuff. It's a tad random, but I need to see what it leads to. I'm intrigued at the least.

The actual contract signing, Moxley, and Ortiz/Santana were the highlights of this show to me. Page/Sammy had a pretty good match as well.

Re: AEW Dynamite On TNT - 30/10/2019

I enjoyed the show as usual. This week had a very heavy "sports-entertainment" type vibe to it but in a good way. Hangman/Sammy was probably my match of the night due to the crowd firmly on Page's side. It was a good showcase of two of AEW's rising stars.

I really liked the women's match, I think the Shanna girl is very good and was a good signing. Shida was so over with the crowd, I love her work and am glad she's finally full time in AEW. My only really issue with this match was that it was too slow and clunky at times but I would say this was easily AEW's best women's match to date.

Brandy segment was weird, to say this least lol. Not sure what to make of her and her character at the moment.

I was so pissed at Santana and Ortiz attacking Rock n Roll Express, I was sitting at home calling them bastards lol. The segment was done so well and got them a lot of heat, great job by all involved.

Orange Best Friends vs. Silver/Reynolds/QT served its purpose. Orange Cassidy is a star. Not every match in AEW needs to be a 15 minute long bout trying to be 5 stars. Are Silver and Reynolds signed to the company now? I heard Excalibur say that they're looking for their first win.

The contract signing was well done and very fun to watch. Did anyone catch Hager hitting a low blow to Dustin? I hated the crowd chanting What during Jericho's promo, that annoyed the heck out of me beyond words. I can't stand hearing What chants in any promotion and it especially felt out of place in AEW. Other than that, two thumbs up for this segment.

6-Man Tag was alright, I wasn't too into but wow Jack Evans is AWESOME. He is beautiful in he ring, so fluid. If this was supposed to be a showcase for Kip Sabian, it failed because I was more entralled by Jack. Other interesting thing was the video game segment leading up to the match, there's lots of debate on whether it was a shot at Ibushi and NJPW or a plea to work together. Interesting, to say the least.

Hands down, favorite moment of the night was Moxley's promo. May go down as a promo of the year contender. It was perfect, fiery, passionate, honest, delivered wonderfully. And I love the story he told in it, in his eyes, Kenny Omega is AEW's golden boy and they're trying to protect him by making the match unsanctioned so if he loses, it won't matter. Kenny is my favorite wrestler and yet Moxley's promo has me on his side rooting for him. If you notice, the past week we've seen several wreslers take shots at The Elite and complaining about the favoritism that surrounds them. I think seeds are being planted for the future regarding this.

Main event was really good, I was rooting for Lucha Bros (my favorite tag team) but I'm happy that SCU won. My main issue with the match is that it didn't get enough time. It was rushed and ended abruptly, they should've cut out Cody's limo segment by a few minutes and given that time to the main event. By the way, I didn't mind the limo segment but it was hard to hear at times, they should've turned the crowd noise down.

Overall, another fun show, felt like it was 100 mph viewing. 8.5/10 for me.

Yeah this was a real issue in the first hour of the show. I thought it was at it's worst when Private Party met Rock n Roll Express and you couldn't hear what Gibson and Morton were saying to the newbies. Came off as bush league to have so many audio issues.

I thought this was the first episode of AEW that was a slog to get through and threw up some worrying issues. I think they are starting to have a style problem in agenting their matches where every match is being layed out to be a good, back and forth wrestling match with tonnes of high spots. That's fine in the vacuum of one match, but once you get to the big main event of the show, you've already seen about 4 matches that feel exactly the same and go too long. You're crying out for something different on the show. To me, I assume the point of Shida Vs Shanna was to get Shida over with a singles win and establish her as someone who might get a shot at Rhio in the coming months, but when you book her to go 10 minutes in a back and forth match with a previously unused wrestler in AEW who I don't think anyone in the crowd knew, it doesn't feel like it elevates Shida that much at all that she had to struggle against an unknown for so long before getting a win. If it was me, Shida wins that match in about 3-4 minutes and you come away knowing she's the better wrestler. I felt this way last week with Omega Vs Janela where Janela got way too much offence in on Omega.

Speaking of Omega that leads to a concern I've had all year about creative freedom in the Elite because Halloween or not, I don't need to see Omega dressing up as some vague video game character and living out his gamer fetish character developments to look like the biggest geek in wrestling. Kenny Omega is a great example of the 'turn yourself up to 11' as your wrestling gimmick not being suited to advice for every wrestler, because without the booking of New Japan this guy is tanking his star power this year. His worst habits are being exposed. Then you've got the bucks doing street fighter dress up again. Not to mention we already had a dress up segment with Best Friends doing the Rick and Morty spot on the show. OH and then Brandi fucking Rhodes weird segment that felt like it could of come out of Impact's Su Yung collection. I've been saying all year that Brandi is the new Stephanie McMahon in how she's playing too many roles that contradict each other and she's all over the product too much, but I think she might be worse than Steph if this is heading in some supernatural gimmick as she positions herself as the top woman on the roster.

I thought the Jericho/Cody segment was a disappointment and a come down from last week. I think they're starting to become cliche in how 90% of their interviews end in someone getting attacked. It happened three times on this show alone with Rock and Roll Express, The Librarian and a Rhodes family member.

The Mox promo was the highlight of the night for me, and I thought Lucha Bros Vs SCU was pretty good, even if Fenix and Pentagon didn't really feel like heels at all. 5-0 for only one women's match on the show, the same amount of women's matches held in Saudi Arabia this week.

This was a big opportunity for them to put a lot of focus on the women, knowing that their main competition was bound to be slated for their treatment of the women this week. We’ve not seen a lot of Riho in the past couple of weeks so it would have been nice to get her on the show in a match, even if it was a simple, short one.

Omega has been hit and miss for me so far. I don’t understand why, when he’s in the middle of this blood feud with Moxley, he’s still okay to do dress up with his friends. He should be consumed by this issue with Mox, if it’s as serious as they’re trying to make it out to be.

That being said, I really enjoyed Lucha Bros vs SCU and I’m glad that SCU got the win. There’s much better stories to tell with them as champions - will Daniels be annoyed when he gets back that it was Sky that stepped in and help them win it? Or will he foolishly offer up the titles to Lucha Bros just to get some revenge?

I really enjoyed the Moxley promo too. That was the highlight of the show for me.

Re: AEW Dynamite On TNT - 30/10/2019

Agreed with this being a weaker week quality wise, but I was happy to get more character and angle stuff for a change.

Mox's promo was awesome, one of the best I've seen in a long time.

Good main, although would've given it to the Luchas personally. There were moments in the match where it was clear they were superior to SCU in every way.

Thought all the Inner Circle angles were great, the women's match went too long and the Rick and Morty stuff felt like filler. Will likely be something on Dark that would have been better but alas, they gotta pay the bills.

Audio and production issues all show, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. 5 shows in and this was the first time they were noticeable, not bad for a new company.

I wish commentary (mostly JR) would stop going on about pinfall covers all the time, you're supposed to make talent look good, not stupid.

I think this is a bit harsh. I've seen some criticism regarding the costumes, it was Halloween Eve. That was the theme of the night, I'm not sure how or why people are overlooking that.

As for Omega, that's the highs and lows that come with having creative freedom, not everyone will get you. I don't think he deserves the heat he's getting for being himself. He's goofy, he loves video games, he's a little weird, that doesn't change the fact that he's the best wrestler in the world. I'd rather he be in a promotion where he has that leeway to be himself and put his personality out there than be somewhere else where he's scripted and molded to be someone he's not. Remember that AEW is trying to appeal to different subcultures, maybe one viewer out there saw him dressed up like that character and was won over to give Dynamite a try because of it.

There is a time to be yourself and acting a totally different way than you're supposed to when in a feud like he is now. When Moxley is cutting heated promos while you're dressing up and acting in a serious manner, there is a mixed message that's being sent. If you was a new viewer, you would have no clue that Omega is in a heated feud built around violence right now. I don't care for Omega being comedic in general (mostly because I don't think he is funny) but there is a time to do it. Now is not that time. This is his first feud in front of a big American audience like this, its not the time to do comedy. Especially when it's not the story AT ALL.

The more the weeks go by, the more I think Omega/Moxley will be a let down. Ever since that Lights Out match with Janela, we've had the Jericho/Allin and FCA match from Dark and both were tons better with a hell of a lot less time. I'm starting to fear Moxley's gonna have to overcome a lot of Omega wackyness/overkill to make this work.

That's not what a fact is. That's an opinion.

I'd rather he be in a promotion where he has that leeway to be himself and put his personality out there than be somewhere else where he's scripted and molded to be someone he's not.
I agree this is better than him being in WWE, but you can strike a happy medium of his personality and him being serious like we had in New Japan, a place where he felt like a big star, at least to westerns. It comes off as over-indulgent.
