Hell in a Cell WWE Hell In A Cell 2019 - Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch vs Sasha Banks

If their last showdown is any indication, the dreaded structure could be the only way to contain the combined fury of the two bitter adversaries.

After Banks returned to WWE with renewed focus and a loaded steel chair, it’s not surprising she immediately set her sights on The Man. After all, Monday Night Raw has belonged to Becky since she overcame Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair in a Winner Take All Match at WrestleMania. Banks was determined to get the prize, to get the money, to get the Raw Women’s Championship. Becky, however, was not to be intimidated and made it clear that the only reason Banks was getting noticed was because The Man was involved and that the champ would be glad to beat down her foe in front of the WWE Universe.

At WWE Clash of Champions, the fans indeed took notice, as the two Superstars engaged in a knockdown, drag-out match of absolute brutality that stretched into the crowd and throughout the arena. By the time the smoke cleared, Becky had been disqualified and fined for inadvertently striking the official with a chair, and absolutely nothing was settled between the competitors.

So, when Banks returned to Raw the following night to challenge the no-nonsense titleholder to a rematch, Becky was more than ready to accept. In fact, The Man raised the stakes by saying she would defend her title against Sasha inside the career-altering confines of Hell in a Cell, one of most barbaric structures ever conceived.

Don’t miss when all Hell breaks loose at the WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, Sunday, Oct. 6, at 7 ET/4 PT, streaming live on the award-winning WWE Network.

I'm willing to bet they have the match of the night again and still don't get the main event.

Don't see any way in hell they'd main event over The Fiend vs. Seth Rollins. Given the hype level for The Fiend and the strength of Rollins' push, I don't think that would be an atrocity either.

Don't get me wrong, this isn't as big a deal as it was at Clash when literally NOTHING else on the show had the hype and build of Sasha/Becky but it irks me that these two are doing the best work of anyone in the company right now and they aren't even being considered for that main event spot.

I get that The Fiend's appearance at Clash would've been hard to follow anywhere else on the card and I get that the finish we got between Sasha and Becky on that show would've felt like a shitty end to the PPV, but there are ways to have both happen and still work as far as I'm concerned.

There's also the fact that The Fiend vs. Rollin on this show is a lose/lose scenario. Either The Fiend loses and his mystique is damaged or he wins and he gets over exposed on weekly TV's. The maddening thing is that they did this to themselves. They walked right into the corner they've painted themselves into, eyes wide open and then said; "Yes, this is the corner I want to be stuck in" and picked up the fucking paint brush. It wasn't a mistake or a choice out of necessity, it was an active decision to make a bad move.

I feel you. And to be clear, I am totally down with Sasha vs. Becky main eventing. If they don't, though, well I'm not going to be up in arms about it either.

As far as booking themselves into the corner, I just feel like we have to wait and see there. I know there are lots of scenarios where this turns out bad, but there's potential for things to actually be fine, as well. I mean, we know that non-finishes are possible in the cell. We also know that if Bray wins the Universal title there's already a precedent that the champion doesn't have to appear every week. Honestly, there are tons of possibilities of how this can turn out so I'm not going to condemn the match just yet.

I'm all for the ladies doing their thing and I've enjoyed the Banks/Lynch interactions and them feuding but I wouldn't have them end the show in the Main Event over the Fiend/Rollins. I agree with The EC on that one completely.

Anyone else but the Fiend- and I'd be for it.

Could still happen tho and if it does- cool with me! But if not- I think it's the right call.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Banks & Becky do in the Cell. I think they will go all out to top the Banks & Charlotte match from a couple of years ago which I enjoyed.

Your faith in the creative team is almost inspiring to me; I've not given WWE the benefit of the doubt in at least five years because they've very consistently proven to me that they don't deserve it. I'd rather be shocked and proven wrong, than underwhelmed and proven right, but it's not something I expect.

Re: WWE Hell In A Cell 2019 - Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch vs Sasha Banks

I'm definitley with those saying that Becky and Sasha deserve to main event this ppv given that both are doing excellent work right now. However, given that I expect Seth to retain his title without beating The Feind clean that means that they're going to have to figure something out with regards to the finish of that match, and I'm willing to bet that that 'something' will be spectacular and 'show-closing' worthy. Given this then that match has to go last.

But make no mistake, Becky and Saha will likely have the best match of the night I think, and I'll enjoy it wherever it falls on the card.
