Impact Wrestling LAX not re-signing with Impact

This coming from Santana's Twitter thanking the fans after finishing up their last dates during the Mexico City Tapings they did recently. I'm going to miss the fuck outta these guys for sure. I would say the signing that really turned things around for their Company I feel like bringing in oVe and Callihan. Before these guys came in, the Tag Team Division was still trying to find themselves and damn did these guys take it to fucking great levels. I wish them well on their next journey whether it's NXT or AEW I'm with them supporting their success further in the business.

Makes me feel like they're strong candidates to be Jericho's mysytery partners on the AEW TV debut.

Yeah that wouldn't shock me at all. The Team wins and beats down Jericho I'll take it because that is what LAX does.

I don't see them going under the WWE banner, not with Konan in tow, so AEW makes perfect sense as it would be a win for all parties concerned.
I have a plan so cunning......

They’ve been one of the best tag teams in the world for the last few years, they deserve a bigger stage, I think AEW would be a perfect place for them.

They've done a load of Indy dates and Konnan is never with them so I don't think he'd be part of the package.

BIG loss for Impact but it was kind of expected.

I think they're perfect for AEW who are lacking in the tag team division and these guys would be a very solid addition.

LAX vs the Bucks, I'm down with that! :D

I'm pretty sure they can take one hard look at WWE's tag team division and hard nope it. Great talent, booked like it doesn't exist though.

I see them going to AEW, HOWEVER, I don't see them as Jericho's mystery partners.

you know this maybe the only case where the new group was better then old.

Santana & Ortiz may very well be a better tag team then the ogs of Lax homicide & super mex

Wish them the best tho in AEW. Huge loss for impact

I love the new iteration of LAX as much as the next guy but I wouldn't go as far as to say they were better than the old. The old LAX put on some absolute classics and even though the new LAX are better in-ring workers, I think the old LAX out-edged them in basically every other category. They had the intimidation factor coming from both Hernandez and Homicide. Hell, we saw how good those 2 were even in 2018 when these two teams feuded. Hernandez was also on the brinks of being a breakout Main Eventer at one point as well, dude was SUPER over. I can't say the same is possible for either of Ortiz or Santana.

What are the biggest match recommendations for this version of LAX?

The best match I've seen of them was the match last year with the OG LAX at Slammiversary

This match is 100x better because I'm in the crowd and you can spot me during the match

Homicide and Hernandez were def better, like in every way, but current LAX are pretty good. AEW is kind of lacking in good tag teams who aren't just spot workers though, and I don't think they are stylistically different enough to stand out from the others they have on board.

Re: LAX not re-signing with Impact

Did original LAX ever do anything outside of TNA together? Cause outside of a couple matches with AJ Styles and Daniels I don't remember many matches from LAX that I'd hype as great, certainly not enough to say they are better than the sequel. EYFBO are great wherever they go from Beyond to wXw to Progress, and frankly they already had the better TNA run anyway, slam dunk in my opinion that they are the better tag team.

I know LAX seem the cooler team with the big man, little man dynamic offering more on paper than EYFBO and Homicide being a really respected indie wrestler, but the output just isn't there as a tag team.

they had some fun matches in ROH with KOW and Briscoes, probs some stuff in JAPW too, but I wouldn't say either team are GREAT

I don't think it's fair to include anything outside of TNA/Impact for the comparison since TNA is where LAX originated. Also, the indy scene was nowhere near as popular back then as it is today, people did not keep up with it anywhere nearly as much. I'd imagine TNA contracts were also a lot more exclusive back then considering they were on Spike TV and current Impact contracts allow workers to work plenty of other dates, basically wherever they please.

There was LAX/Team 3D, LAX/Beer Money as well.

Quite the statement. True, there were fewer companies to follow but places like ROH had a renowned following back then.
