I quite enjoyed both Prototype and Infamous about equally.

Think I just played Infamous a bit more.

Angry Birds is a great old time, and so is Wii Sports Resort. Never played that iteration of Ratchet and Clank nor Bionic Commando, but enjoyed the series as a whole for both.
    Everything will surely be alright.

I had Beatles: Rock Band, it was fun for what it was even though I was never that good at those games I just liked it because it was The Beatles. I can't believe it's already been 10 years since Angry Birds was first released, that's wild to me. I played the heck out of it when I first discovered it but eventually I grew bored with it.

I haven't played any of the others mentioned thus far.

Re: WC's Fave Five Video Games of 2009!!

    Tied - 10th
A Boy and His Blob - 30 (Fuji Vice #3)

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars - 30 (The Natural #3)

Grand Theft Auto IV: Episodes from Liberty City - 30 (Baloocha #3)

    Klonoa - 30 (Sakura #3)

    The Sims 3 - 30 (Silk #3)

A couple GTA side adventures spice up this part of the list, but I never played either, nor these two Wii games. As for the Sims 3, it's not the kind of game I'd have expected to put in my top five, but when I consider how many hours I've logged into it over the years, it seemed like a prime pick.

Big props to Fujiman for the A boy and his Blob love... as a kid I hated the NES version, which we had, but with each year getting older, I appreciated more and more. One of the most underrated NES games. The WII version is alright, although by far not as good.

I skipped Sims 3, because I heard so much bad stuff about it, when it came out. Also Sims 2 was such a great game, why even bother with an apparently sub-par third installment in the franchise?

tbh I don't remember what the fuss was at the time but I can't imagine people saying Sims 3 is subpar. It has a lot of great stuff that built upon the second game and I logged a ton of hours away into it.

Sims 4 on the other hand is an absolute debacle.

A Boy and His Blob was a fun sequel/retelling of the original NES game I loved as a kid.

The GTA side adventures I haven't actually played, but would like to at some point. Especially China Town. Sims 3 was okay, but I felt it was a step back from 2.

    Klonoa is oodles of fun.
    Everything will surely be alright.

Re: WC's Fave Five Video Games of 2009!!

Here's a little more juice for you.

    Tied - 9th
    Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days - 40 (Sakura #2)

    Pokemon Platinum - 40 (Silk #2)

    Resident Evil 5 - 40 (OMB #4, Baloocha #4)

WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 - 40 (The Natural #2)

Looks like we squeezed in the requisite wrestling game. Resi 5 was a really fun game though it didn't quite live up to the standard set by 4 and I'm sure some RE purists will have many more thoughts to offer. I appreciated some of the novelties of 358/2 and it has a great story, but the gameplay is a bit repetitive for me to stick it too high. And then there's Pokemon, and while Platinum is a lower tier Pokemon game, it's still a Pokemon game so I played it for a billion hours.

RE past 3 just isn't my thing, really. 4 was okay, but the beginning of a downward spiral.

Pokemon is always a good time. Same with KH, quite enjoy that one. Don't recall if I ever beat it, though? I remember enjoying Birth By Sleep more...but it was still a really fun time, and worth the #2 vote. :D Maybe I'll go replay it/finish it.
    Everything will surely be alright.

For me, RE4 was a pivotal direction a more "Action/Adventure" genre that I wasn't having. I love action and adventure games, but felt it was all too similar to how Capcom ruined Dino Crisis and Onimusha by changing their series from Surv Horror to action/adventure.

    I always rated it 3 > Code Veronica > 2 > Director's Cut > Gaiden and 4 tied > Rest for RE.
    Everything will surely be alright.

No doubt that RE5 is actually not really a pure Survival Horror game anymore... RE4 has still the feeling, I would say, but RE5 ist definitely a 3rd Person Action game with horror/sci-fi elements. Nevertheless if you pull through it with a good buddy on a weekend with loads of booze and pizza, it's one of the most fun co-op experiences you'll have.

AI controlled Shiva is the worst partner you could ever imagine in RE5, I would advise to never play alone.

None of mine have showed up yet but I did enjoy GTA Liberty City Stories, SvR 09, Ghostbusters, and RE5. That alligator portion of RE5 is legitimately terrifying.

Not the best Monkey Island game in the series, but hell..It's Monkey Island! Fell in love with Guybrush and his pirate adventures as a young boy playing the original way way back when.
    Everything will surely be alright.

Re: WC's Fave Five Video Games of 2009!!

Last update before the top five

    Tied - 7th
Dragon Age: Origins - 60 (Coxatron #2, Slick Mitch #4)

    Halo 3: ODST - 60 (Jimmy King #1, Silk #5)

    Worms 2: Armageddon - 60 (Postman Dave #2, Fuji Vice #4)

    6th
    Uncharted 2: Among Thieves - 80 (Silk #1, RED #3)

My Bioware love was at an all-time high in 09 but I couldn't get into Origins too much for one reason or another, though it's beloved by many people other than myself so no surprise to see it reel in some votes. ODST is a really great pseudo-expansion to the Halo franchise with a really neat and unique campaign for the series. Worms is always a great time, not sure I've played Armageddon specifically. Of the entire list, Uncharted 2 pulling only two votes is the most surprising result to me, since it was a big GOTY player 10 years ago, but it seems to have gotten lost in the shuffle here. Big props to RED for finding a vote for one of the great adventure games of all time.

    Top five soon to come.

Uncharted 2 is fantastic and the 2nd best game of the franchise (behind A Thief's End)

A shame it didn't crack the top 5 but it was a stacked year.
