Footloose is great but the original isn’t a musical. They don’t sing one song in it. That Wikipedia list is bogus.

That Wikipedia list was a little whack but I didn't want to get into people trying to justify individual movies so I just left it as is. As I said earlier, I don't consider UHF a musical at all, but it's still a damn good flick. Luckily, the majority of the movies left on the countdown do actually qualify as musicals, so that's a win.

I love Footloose but I agree with Booty where I don’t consider it a true musical

Yeah I let UHF slide because of the one song he sings in it but Christ man. Lol. All good though.

The Les Mis stage production is amazing and I thought the movie was good too. I’ll agree with Fuji though where the main sore thumb in it for me is Crowe as Javert.

Re: WC's Fave Five Movie Musicals~!

Time for another awesome update, this time taking us on our final step towards the top ten...

11T. Eddie and The Cruisers - 40 Points (Mister Miracle #2)

    11T. Frozen - 40 Points (TWG #2)

    11T. High School Musical - 40 Points (Shade #2)

11T. How the Grinch Stole Christmas - 40 Points (Regal or Riot #2)

11T. My Little Pony: Equestria Girls - Rainbow Rocks - 40 Points (Sakura #2)

    11T. The Producers - 40 Points (Fuji Vice #2)

I know I've seen Eddie and the Cruisers but I don't really remember much of it. The cast alone makes it worth a re-watch so I'll just drop it near the top of my list and get to it shortly. Voting for The Producers was easy when I realized nobody else was going to, though it was going to make my list regardless. Simply one of the funniest musicals I've ever seen and a great stage production as well. The Grinch gives me fond childhood memories so I'm glad to see it make the list. Still haven't bothered with Frozen and I doubt I'll ever watch High School Musical or My Little Pony since neither seem to be my cup of tea.

Next up, coincidentally, a 10 way tie for 10th place~!

The Producers rules but it didn't really have a chance at making my list

Frozen was a very late cut for me, but my two Disney films of choice are just flat out stronger on the song front

I didn't think Eddie & The Cruisers would get much love, but it's definitely worth the watch. Michael Pare lip syncs better than possibly anyone ever has. Tom Berenger is quite good, very interesting story, along with really great music.

Granted, Eddie and the Cruisers isn't without it's flaws, but the critics savaged it. It found it's audience on HBO, enough to make a sequel. The music is the key. The scene where they write On The Dark Side gets me every time, it's so on the nose, sometimes it goes just like that. The song "Tender Years" slays me. Nostalgia can be a good thing.

I honestly considered just voting for all the MLP movies...But, I figured I'd give the spot to my favorite of them.

    Frozen is amazing.
    Everything will surely be alright.
