Interesting test of Phantasmo and Rev-Pro as a whole to put them front and center on the last big tour before G1.

I'd say I'm surprised at the push back of ZSJ/Tacos, but western New Japan fans have underrated Yoshi Hashi for years. I'm sure the match will be very good.

    DOUKI getting another gig

Totally forgot Nicholls was with this company

Re: NJPW Kizuna Road 2019 Tour

I'll refrain from doing the whole blocks because they could always add more people but I'll say Okada, White and Ibushi will be in one block with Naito, Tanahashi and Moxley in the other.

There's heavy rumors that this year would have more than 20 people in it, but we'll see how it goes.

Does seem very likely considering I can't fit Taichi in. Then there's Kojima, Archer, DBS Jr, Nicholls, Finlay, Tama Tonga etc.

It's exhausting enough without adding 4 more names in the mix.

Looks like Davey Boy Smith Jr. won't be an issue with it now being reported that he's done with NJPW.

I'm all for it. YOSHI-HASHI was one of the better match to match wrestlers in the G1 last year. But its also for the title and I don't see that title change happening.

Re: NJPW Kizuna Road 2019 Tour

Why would ZSJ even agree to that stipulation?

No chance YOSHI-HASHI is winning but if he does, deary me.

That being said, I don't think ZSJ is in many big match spots during the tour so

Re: NJPW Kizuna Road 2019 Tour

YOSHI-HASHI has been better in NJPW than ZSJ. Last year ZSJ was in the best block by far and wasn't as good, was like the 7th or 8th best guy in B Block. I'm not into him but the title means he'll probably win since he's still actual popular in England unlike Japan.

Re: NJPW Kizuna Road 2019 Tour

As much as I like YH, I still don’t think it would be an improvement to sub them. It’s a matter of expectations, YH can have a tournament of 3.5 star matches on average and be considered to be a great tournament for him. If Zack averages 3.5 stars a match for a G1, it’s considered a disappointment. I would say ZSJ had the better tournament in 2017 when they were in the same block.

YH is great for the 10-15 minute match that’s first up for the night, but Zack has the higher potential for great matches.

in an ideal world they would both be in and Gedo comes to his senses that Fale will never be a thing.

Re: NJPW Kizuna Road 2019 Tour

There are tons of things going against YOSHI-HASHI tomorrow but I'll be pulling for him. I think them adding the G1 entry stipulation was a great move because it adds more stakes to it. I can see it being a great match with everything surrounding it.

Re: NJPW Kizuna Road 2019 Tour

The sad part of this is if Yoshi Hashi didn’t slip and injure himself on the ring apron at the end of last year, then both of them would be in the tournament. I think there’s been some ill feeling there from the bookers after messing up his big opportunity.

Unless Zack is secretly hurt and can’t commit to a gruelling tour, then I don’t understand why you’d announce him and then pull him in favour of a midcard guy a few weeks later. I mean it has made this match very interesting now, but still think it does more damage than good.

Re: NJPW Kizuna Road 2019 Tour

It's possible that ZSJ got injured since being announced. It's small margins but very possible in a tough environment like wrestling.

But since you brought it up, maybe they will try and use this to see if the fans will respond to YOSHI-HASHI in a certain way in order to resume the push that they were going to give to him before his injury. Long shot but entirely possible. If the fans are going to rally behind YOSHI-HASHI big time, this is a perfect match for it to happen. Main event on the last day of the tour, title match, G1 spot on the line. Maybe

Re: NJPW Kizuna Road 2019 Tour

I really think ZSJ lives off the "ZSJ" name in NJPW. If you look purely at him in NJPW rather than anywhere else he hasn't been very impressive at all, definitely on the lower tier on the roster in terms of performance and he had a huge NJC push that really didn't get over in the end. Just at their respective G1s last year, Zack had only a slightly better tournament quality wise and was in a WAY better Block.

The problem with all this is the RevPro Title, since even with an injury you would think that they would pick someone else to be their champion. Am extremely doubtful of a swap for that reason.

Expected result. The match was pretty fun but not a blow away match. The highlight was Zack Sabre Jr cutting promos and calling for YOSHI-HASHI to basically be his own personal young boy.

I thought the match technically was really strong but the crowd took it down overall. Nobody bought into YH winning sadly.
