One of Petty's best albums was another hard cut for me. Wire is such a good band, their first three albums are all very good in different ways. Pink Flag is a near perfect album, Chairs Missing and 154 are nearly as good, all should be checked out.

I actually like Chairs Missing the most out of their first three but Pink Flag and 154 are both stellar. Props to Steve on the Fear of Music love. That's probably my fave Talking Heads album, although I'm pretty high on all of their stuff.

As far as Petty goes, I loved the guy and saw him live 6 times. Just couldn't find room for that album in what was apparently a "weak year" for music.

Fuji’s lack of Cross disturbs me.

    Re: WC's Fave Five Albums - 1979

We begin the Top 5 with these 4 Albums:

    Tied for 5th - Three Imaginary Boys - The Cure - 70 Points (Sakura #3, Baloocha #3, OMB #5)

    Spoiler:

Tied for 5th - London Calling - The Clash - 70 Points (Mister Miracle #1, Sakura #5, King Steventon #5)

    Spoiler:

4th Place - Cheap Trick at Budokan - Cheap Trick - 80 Points (Mikk #2, Mister Miracle #2)

    Spoiler:

3rd Place - Unknown Pleasures - Joy Division - 100 Points (Regal or Riot #1, King Steventon #3, Sakura #4)

    Spoiler:

All of these albums have a well deserved place in the top 5. I'm not the biggest fan of The Cure, but I recognize their longevity and importance in music. London Calling and Cheap Trick at Budokan are two of my favorite albums, both hang framed on my wall. Unknown Pleasures was another late cut for me.

I'd completely missed Joy Division but there are so many good albums from this year

Might be regretting ELO over Tom Petty too now

    The Final 2:

    2nd Place - Highway to Hell - AC/DC - 210 Points (Creeping Death #1, Jimmy King #1, OMB #2, Ms Flock #2, Mikk #3)

    Spoiler:

1st Place - The Wall - Pink Floyd - 230 Points (King Steventon #1, Mikk #1, Regal or Riot #2, OMB #3, Fuji Vice #3, Jimmy King #3)

    Spoiler:

I figured these would be the top 2 in some order. Both are great albums, Bon's final with the boys and really the last proper one with the main four in Floyd. Good job everyone.

    Taking a break...

Highway to Hell is phenomenal. I could never get into Floyd but I do appreciate their talents

Highway to Hell is one of my favorite AC/DC albums along with Back in Black. I love Pink Floyd and Comfortably Numb is my favorite song by them

I never was a huge AC/DC fan during Bon era as I think Johnson is better vocalist but ACDC are due the credit they deserve as for Pink Floyd The Wall is one of the best albums of all times.

    So, for anyone that'd like it, made a Spotify list for it;

    https://open.spotify.com/user/21sza6...Rw-luhWLGGMcJw

Only issues was the Iron Maiden album isn't on there and Down To Earth is a live album not the studio one
