WC's Fave Five Movies of 2018~!

That's right folks, now that we've caught up with 2016 and 2017's re-do's, it's time to take a look at the most recent full year in movies. Most of you know how this goes but if you've never done it before, it's pretty simple. All you've got to do to participate is PM me a list of your five favourite movies released in 2018 (with 1 being your top choice) by no later than Tuesday, April 23rd at 9AM EST. I'm giving everyone an extra few days to catch up plus I'll be gone for the Easter weekend and won't have my laptop with me. Our countdown will begin at 9AM sharp on the due date, so no stragglers please. Here's a list of movies released in 2018 for your perusal...

Re: WC's Fave Five Movies of 2018~!

I'm always missing out on most of the Oscar movies tbh. Here's the ones I watched that didn't make the cut. Actively disliked RPO, Meg, Fantastic Beats, Godzilla, and Marry Poppins. The rest were all varying degrees of enjoyable to good. My top 5 were an easy top 5 though.

    Ready Player One
    The Meg
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald
Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle
    Mary Poppins Returns
    The Grinch
    Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle
    Aquaman
    Bumblebee
    Ralph Breaks The Internet
    Solo: A Star Wars Story
    Pacific Rim: Uprising
    Tomb Raider
    Crazy Rich Asians
    Mission Impossible - Fallout
    Tag
    Rampage
    The Favourite
    Ant Man and the Wasp
    Bohemian Rhapsody
    Incredibles 2
    Widows
    Deadpool 2
    Batman Ninja
    Isle of Dogs

Still a shitton of movies I'd like watch from 2018 but haven't had the chance.

I have such conflicting feeling on Ready Player One, it's crazy. Only a third of the book should've been made into a movie, squandered potential tbh

So far things are looking pretty good for a couple of movies to solidify their spots in the Fave Five, but I'm expecting a lot more lists before the deadline next Tuesday.

I would love to participate in this list but raising 3 daughters alone means I don't get to see a lot of new movies lol. I did see Bohemian Rhapsody though and thought it was good

Wait, when did we redo 2017?

We did 2015 and 2016 just recently.

    Not 2017, that I recall.
    Everything will surely be alright.

We were only ever re-doing 2015 and 2016. We just did the 2017 list last year around this time so I didn't want to re-do it that quickly.

That's what I thought, but the way you worded it made me think otherwise and I missed something.

I just watched the Death Wish remake yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. Not enough for it to make my list but it’s fun for what it is. Wouldn’t even mind a sequel.

Alright folks, we're into our final day of list submissions. There's a couple of ties in the Fave Five that I'd love to see broken so if you haven't sent a list in yet, get on it. Countdown begins tomorrow at 9AM EST.

Re: WC's Fave Five Movies of 2018~!

Well folks, the lists are all in, the votes are tallied up and we've got a staggering total of 52 movies to get through. Let's begin immediately with an 8 way tie for 14th place...

    14T. Christopher Robin - 10 Points (Loocha #5)

    14T. The Grinch - 10 Points (Shawn #5)

    14T. I Can Only Imagine - 10 Points (Wang Chung #5)

    14T. The Incredibles 2 - 10 Points (Thundercat #5)

    14T. Love, Simon - 10 Points (Postman Dave #5)

    14T. Ready Player One - 10 Points (RED #5)

14T. Sicario: Day of the Soldado - 10 Points (Kairi HoHo #5)

14T. Teen Titans Go! To The Movies - 10 Points (Slick Mitch #5)

The only one of those I've seen so far is the Sicario sequel, which I thought was decent enough outside of the ridiculous final 20 minutes or so. I've got Ready Player One on the hard drive so it's only a matter of years before I get to it. I'm also interested in checking out the Teen Titans animated movie at some point.

Next up, just a little 9 way tie for 13th place~!
