13 lists so far...which is pretty great and I still haven't done one...hopefully I get a few more before I total them up in a couple of days. That'd be fantastic.

    Re: WC's Fave Five Albums - 1984

First off thanks to all that sent in a list, Baloocha, Fuji, Wang Chung, Creeping Death, Ms Flock, The EC, Kari HoHo, Booty, Styles of Punk, Jimmy King, Bro, King Steventon, Mikk, Slick Mitch and Jiggy.

I literally can't do this without your help.

Let's get our show started with a nice soft opening with the 10 Pointers:

Yellow and Black Attack - Stryper (Wang Chung #5)

    Spoiler:

Haunting the Chapel - Slayer (Creeping Death #5)

    Spoiler:

Beverly Hills Cop Soundtrack (Jake Your Booty #5)

    Spoiler:

    Chicago 17 - Chicago (Ms Flock #5)

    Spoiler:

Our countdown starts off with 2 polar opposites, Stryper and Slayer...seems only fitting. Stryper got super successful fairly quickly, but Slayer on pure brute strength and staying power won this battle of good vs evil...pick whichever side you think they belong on, it's open to interpretation. I've always liked that Slayer has played Chemical Warfare in every show, they've been playing that song for 35+ years. Then 2 very big albums for the year. Beverly Hills Cop, which made Eddie Murphy a superstar not only in comedy, but now in movies. Then Chicago's MTV album, they were all over that station with songs from this album.

    Re: WC's Fave Five Albums - 1984

Stryper was one of those bands that was fun to listen too and had other albums that did better but this was a good start for them.

I wasnt a huge Slayer fannnack then but that was a good album.

The Beverly Hills cop album was fun as well and I still love the theme song.

Haunting the Chapel is great but I left it off after realizing CD was going to nom it. If this was 1986, Slayer would be my number one.

I’ve got a soft spot for that Chicago album. Some great stuff on it for sure.

Slayer is a band I got into much later in life but they do rule. Stryper was great but this time period is loaded for me. Love that Chicago album too. Stir it Up by Patti Labelle is my jam of the BHC soundtrack though. Good first group.

Speaking of that Chicago album, we were just listening to Sirius 80's on 8 up here at the hunting camp and Along Comes a Woman happened to come on. That's a great little tune that I'd forgotten was on 17.

I do like that Chicago album even though David Foster was making them abandon the horns. Cetera's last before he went solo and it's their biggest selling album ever.

I may get out the next set before the end of the day, because Easter and all that noise tomorrow.

I do prefer the earlier Chicago sound but it's hard to argue with success on that level.

    Re: WC's Fave Five Albums - 1984

We'll continue with the next batch just in case I have no time on Easter.

    On with the 20 Pointers:

Points on the Curve - Wang Chung (Baloocha #5, Fuji Vice #5)

    Spoiler:

Born in the U.S.A. - Bruce Springsteen (Bro #5, Jiggy #5)

    Spoiler:

Under Wraps - Jethro Tull (Baloocha #4)

    Spoiler:

Bananarama - Bananarama (Kari HoHo #4)

    Spoiler:

Couldn't Stand the Weather - SRV (Ms Flock #4)

    Spoiler:

    Footloose Soundtrack (Slick Mitch #4)

    Spoiler:

Another good batch of albums...Bruce Springsteen with his best selling album...by far. Wang Chung hits the beginning of their success with this album. Whenever I hear Bananarama it brings me back to a simpler time in my life. I dearly love Footloose the movie and soundtrack, to me the remake never happened. I go back and forth with SRV and Double Trouble...I can't say I'm a massive fan, but I know how great he was, because it's plain obvious if you have ears and eyes. I didn't listen to Jethro Tull during this time in their career.

    Re: WC's Fave Five Albums - 1984

I almost added the footloose, Wang Chung and Bananarama ones on my list and while my name is derived from that band I do prefer their next album to this one.

Footloose was in my top ten for sure just a great album. Bananarama is all sorts of cheesy 80s fun. Born in the USA is one of the first cassette tapes I bought with my own money. Some real classics here for sure.

Loocha with the Wang Chung love makes me happy. I'm going to need to check out that Jethro Tull album because I don't remember it at all.

    Another good batch up there.
