Raiders sign Vontaze Burfict and Clay Matthews I'm hearing is going to the Rams. Come on Packers how can you let the leader of your Defense go like that.

    He's getting old.

Though I'd take him over that thug Burfict, any day.

Burfict is a piece of shit.

Brother, Clay Matthews is no one's leader at his age. He hasn't been productive in years and his contract was crippling. If he was coming back he was taking a big pay cut, especially since Green Bay already signed two, better, younger pass rushers.

Love Clay to death but that take is awful. His time was just done.

I mean yeah he was a older player, but so was Ray Lewis and he played with the Ravens his whole career as a Linebacker. Clay was a productive player at the position with plenty in the tank I feel, but he'll do well with the Rams and give them added experience at the position. The Rams though it felt like since Barron left to the Steelers they wanted to fill the position as quick as possible. Rams with these deals the past few Seasons I said it before and I'll it again they will need blow up this team if they expect to give Goff a huge deal in 2020. Who else is apart of that FA class in 2020 for the Rams Peters, Talib, Brockers, all huge contributors to their Defense. I c

Goff, Wentz, and Dak are going to break the banks of their teams and create a black hole in 2020 I know it.

Clay Matthews ain't Ray Lewis. I know for a fact you haven't seen more than a couple games worth of tape on Clay in the last three years so trust me when I say the Packers were right to let him walk.

Honestly, I'd have to say 2015 was the last year he was really good before starting to slow down.

Now if he was willing to take a pretty big pay cut and reduce to a backup roll and more so mentor young LBs? That'd have been a good reason to keep him, and probably smart.

Re: 2019 NFL Offseason Discussion Thread

You won't get any argument from me about Burfict being a POS but I'd still take him over decrepit Matthews, who looked like he was wearing cement shoes last year. It's pretty much a win win for the Raiders since they're getting him fairly cheap and he'll be reunited with his former DC. Of course, I'm sure he'll end up suspended by week 6 (or earlier) but in the meantime, it's not the worst move.

Cowboys actually pulled out a really good move signing Randall Cobb yesterday. They've got their replacement for Beasley on what basically amounts to a "prove it" deal. If he can stay healthy, he'll be a formidable #2 lined up opposite Cooper.

Cowboys got Cobb hmm that is a guy I didn't want them to sign because I can see how good he can be again like with Rodgers with Dak.

Good pick up there they still might get Berry too if the money situation works itself out.

I like Cobb for a one year deal.

Glad it's not a huge money deal or long term, though.

Health has been his issue for a few years now but if he stays on the field he should be reasonably reliable. He's a good safety valve sort of receiver at this point in his career and has very good hands. Might not be a great speed guy anymore but he'll be a nice slot option for the 'Boys.

Plus he's a Bear killer so should be a guaranteed win with Chicago on your schedule.

Justin Houston to Indy on a 2 year deal, I'm very happy with that. He should make for a nasty duo with Leonard and 24 mil for him isn't bad at all. Hopefully Indy continues to boost up the defense now that they have a pretty solid offense.
