Re: Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019)

Well I didn't expect a Trailer to come out for this today happy as hell to see it though. Keaton I thought in Homecoming made me love Vulture the character and I still get chills when he's telling Peter to say outta his way, or he'll kill him, and then he flips the switch back to Daddy it's a great Scene for me. Mysterio looks great and I imagine Mysterio is creating these illusions to get Peter to think he's a good guy, when he's doing shady business on the side. OH boy I can't wait when Mysterio breaks his heart.

I mean the last Trailer sold before the newest one, but this Trailer blows away the last one with perfection.

    Spoiler:

When I heard Fury said Mysterio is from Earth, just not our Earth I nearly fainted. Multiverse being involved now with the MCU begs alot of questions and possibilities going forward. Surrogate Father Mysterio is going to send Peter down a dark road I hope to Secret Wars or something even bigger down the line.

Looking forward to it more after the second trailer. Think whatever's going on with Mysterio should be interesting, I'm a big Jake Gyllenhaal fan, and I can't help but feel he wouldn't have signed up for a big blockbuster like this if the character wasn't up to scratch.

Just got my tickets to see this day one. I haven't been as diligent in avoiding spoilers for this as I have other Marvel movies, and while I'm interested in the movie, I can't say I'm super excited after my Endgame hangover. I'm sure it'll be a fun movie though.

Just saw this. Will post more thoughts later. Fairly average movie. Sort of reminded me of Iron Man 3 in many ways. But more decent.

Caught this last night and really enjoyed it. Thought the movie was great. I know in the past that there was a so called villain problem in the MCU which has obviously been rectified but man, both Spiderman films have had killer antagonists so far.

Night Monkey! Was a fun film all the way through. Sure, they could've cut a few things - less Ned and that scene with the teacher and his camera. But still a great film nonetheless. All of Tom Holland's Spider-Man movies have been great so far. It's in the upper echelon of my Marvel movie list for sure. All of the Mysterio was awesome! Such an awesome sequence when they finally got to fight (you'll know what I'm talking about when you actually watch it). The ending is such a huge talking point. I can't wait to see what's next.

Let's not forget that Marvel is at Comic-con. They'll probably reveal some movies. Can't wait!

    About the ending

    Spoiler:

What's the big deal about Peter Parker's identity being revealed. Sure, he'll be portrayed as a villain as he works to restore his image (really, it wouldnt take a second for Shield to provide evidence that Mysterio was a fake) but the MCU has shown there isnt much harm in having your identity out in the open. No one in the Avengers hides their identity. He'll be fine. Its no big deal. Also, the Mysterio being a fake reminded me of Iron Man 3's Mandarin plot twist, because it was like "wait... so the multiverse isnt real". IIt was more deflating to me than anything.

    Spoiler:

Yea except thats how Mysterio is suppose to be unlike the real mandarin so you cant really compare that Mysterio kept to the soruce materal compared to IM3

I think this film was brillant it was funny it was serious when it had to be and Jake G left a great presence.

Re: Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019)

Finally got to this. Another solid film that the MCU seems to churn out so effortlessly now it's almost tough to get overly excited even though the base line quality is so much higher than elsewhere.

I was happy with how they went with Mysterio. As I said earlier in this thread, I don't think an actor like Gyllenhaal would have taken on the role if it didn't have a but more meat on the bones.

    Spoiler:

I think Jon's comparison sorta works, but not quite the same as I was expecting Mysterio to be some sort of smokescreen. Getting people worked up about a mult-verse with the trailer worked a treat. Kinda funny that yet another villain was a result of Stark's actions, that giy pissed a lot of people off huh

I'd say it's about the same level as Homecoming in quality, good but still behind the first two Raimi films and Spider-Verse.
