    Sandlot isn’t number one?

In all seriousness, I voted Sandlot as my number one because it’s my number one favorite sports movie ever and holds a special place for me.

In retrospect, I probably should've added the Sandlot to my list. I was so enamored by some of the other movies in that Wikipedia list that Sandlot totally went unnoticed.

I honestly wasn't sure I'd see The Hustler up so high. It's a great film, but easily gets overshadowed in the discussion of sports movies.

Sandlot isn't, and shouldn't be, number one because the ending is a dud. The July Fourth fireworks scene might be the best of any sports movie, though.

I'm one sad Panda seeing The Mighty Ducks films a little low than I thought it would land, still love those Movies though with a passion. Cool Runnings was so close to making my list, that moment when the Team pushes across their Bobsled across the Finishing Line is so emotional to watch. I might need to see The Hustler now especially now I see Paul Newman is one of the Stars.

I did the second one. I thought if I had to choose one from the 3 it would be 2 though.

I did think more votes would come, 3 is underrated in my eyes.

Sorry for the long delay folks, life got in the way. Here's number three...

    3. Raging Bull - 190 Points (Vayne #1, BD22 #2, Gipper #2, Zero #2, Creeping Death #4)

A great film and a great shout out for a Fave Five spot. I didn't vote for it myself but I've always considered it one of the all time great sports movies so I'm very happy to see it take the third spot.

We'll get to the top two in a little bit. Cheers.

Even though I didn’t vote for it, Raging Bull is very much deserving of a top 5 placing. There was just other films I wanted to show some appreciation ahead of it.

Re: WC's Fave Five Sports Movies~!

Alright, let's finish this one up...

    2. Major League - 230 Points (Booty #1, Fuji Vice #1, TGO #1, Jimmy King #3, Lucha Bear #3, BD22 #4)

    and YOUR number one...

    1. Rocky - 310 Points (Lucha Bear #1, TCON #1, Wang Chung #1, Wolf Beast #1, Easy Joe #2, Fuji Vice #3, Postman Dave #4, Silk #4)

I wasn't very surprised to see the top two shake out the way that it did. Both are great sports movies and while I would have preferred to see Major League take the top spot I can't say I'm too fussed about it finishing second. The requisite big time props to all the fine folks that voted for both of these movies along with me, you're all wonderful people that I've added to my Christmas list.

So with that we're done once again but I'll get us a new topic to work on in the next couple of days. Thanks to all the participants and have a great and wonderful Sunday. Cheers~!

did anyone mention Remember The Titans?
with Denzel and a young Hayden Panitierre, that I thought was a real great film, mostly about building bridges in an era of racism, but its a real feelgood film. I think the Rock was in something similar where he was coaching young offenders to play, but as far as American football films go, its still 3rd behind this and Any Given Sunday.

Its funny you brought up Mighty Ducks... I cracked up when the manager says something like "I'll decide who sucks around here" lol, just some inappropriate innuendo makes me chuckle

Major League is awesome and I knew you and Booty would give it love so I left it off to give others like Eight men out a shot. I also left off field of dreams because I knew it would get alot of love.

If I recall I dont remember seeing Bull Durham on the list at all which is shocking.

Rocky had to be number one on this list so no disappointment here.

Holy Balls! How the eff did I forget about Major League?!? I am thoroughly ashamed right now lol.

All the movies I voted for, and all of the movies others voted on that I've seen, I don't remember much about seeing those movies. I remember the exact situation I was in when I watched Major League. I was at a friend's house, and his neighbor invited all of us over to watch Major League that night. When we got there, the lady neighbor sat us 8 year olds down and explained that the movie would likely include some foul language and that nothing we see or hear resembles real life. She was legitimately appalled at all the "Fuck you Jobu!" moments, and even more appalled that my friends and I were rolling around on the floor hysterical over it.

I knew Major League would get a lot of love so I left it off. Would definitely have preferred it to beat Rocky but oh well.

I actually kinda prefer Rocky 2 by a hair but I threw a vote to the first because I figured it represents the series as a whole and I knew it would be the one making a run at first place.
