Happy Gilmore is easily my favorite Sandler comedy, even after all these years later it still makes me laugh. Plus, it gave us the wonderful villain in Shooter McGavin.

“I eat pieces of shit like you for breakfast!”

“You eat pieces of shit for breakfast?”

    “...NO!”

A League of their Own is classic too and I love Tom Hanks in it.

Happy Gilmore was the basis of my humor up until Super Troopers came out. Yes, I have used the "What? Friends listen to Endless Love in the dark" line once or twice...unsuccessfully

Re: WC's Fave Five Sports Movies~!

Alright folks, here's our final update before the Fave Five begins later today...

    8. Hoosiers - 80 Points (Mitch #2, Wang Chung #2)

    7T. BASEketball - 90 Points (Silk #1, Booty #2)

7T. Space Jam - 90 Points (Evil Jon #1, Postman Dave #3, Jimmy King #5)

    6T. Creed - 100 Points (OMB #2, BD22 #3, HoHo #3)

    6T. Miracle - 100 Points (NovaRoad #2, Silk #2, Vayne #4)

    6T. Rocky IV - 100 Points (HoHo #1, Wolf Beast #3, Zero #4)

    6T. Rudy - 100 Points (Mitch #1, TCON #2, HoHo #5)

    6T. Warrior - 100 Points (BD22 #1, Postman Dave #1)

Hoosiers was pretty much the final movie cut from my list and I hated to do so because it's a great one. Come for the Hackman performance, stay for the awesome story and be sure to thank Wang and Mitch for getting it a decent spot here. Rocky IV is probably my favourite of the Rocky sequels simply for how ridiculously entertaining the entire thing is, but I ultimately left it off so I'm happy to see it take a high place thanks to the efforts of HoHo, Wolf and Zero. BASEketball was another one that I debated but couldn't find room for so good on current KOWC opponents Silk and Booty for finding some common ground and giving it a little love. I enjoyed Miracle (for obvious reasons) and Rudy for what they are but I never really loved them like others do. They're still solid movies though and definitely welcome on this list.

I didn't consider Creed for my list as it's way too new to make an impact as something I'd consider a favourite but I certainly get why people like it a lot because it's a solid flick. I'm looking forward to the sequel even though I think it's pretty much already jumped the shark at this point. I've never seen Warrior but I often hear people mention that it's great so I've added it to the list. Space Jam is another one like Mighty Ducks that I was just a little too old to appreciate but it's still pretty entertaining in its own way. I honestly thought it would do a little better on this list but I guess that just goes to show how many great sports movies are out there.

Next up, the Fave Five begins with a tie for 5th and a 4th place finisher that beat them by 10 points~!

I haven't seen Creed or Warrior, but I like the rest.

All of those are great. I was thinking about Baseketball for awhile as that movie to this day still cracks me up.

Re: WC's Fave Five Sports Movies~!

I feel like Warrior came out at a time where cliche MMA movies were really popular and originally it might have been lumped into those because of its shared subject matter. It's a shame it wasn't seen more at the time because it really is terrific and works just as well as a family drama as it does a sports movie.

Warrior also has Kurt Angle in it portraying a Russian fighter. I remember enjoying Warrior when I first watched it but I haven’t watched it since then.

Space Jam is one of my childhood favorite movies I had to include it.

BASEketball is one of the funniest teardowns of sports I've ever seen and it's wild how well it holds up in that regard even 20 years later.

Just now seeing a lot of this. Most I agree with, some I don't. Mighty Ducks got royally shafted.

Re: WC's Fave Five Sports Movies~!

I'll be out for the evening so let's kick off the Fave Five right now...

    5T. The Hustler - 120 Points (Easy Joe #1, Creeping Death #3, Fuji Vice #4, BD22 #5, NovaRoad #5)

    5T. The Sandlot - 120 Points (Jimmy King #1, OMB #1, Lucha Bear #5, TGO #5)

    4. Remember the Titans - 130 Points (The EC #1, Gipper #1, HoHo #4, Wolf Beast #5)

There's not much I can say about The Hustler other than not only is it a favourite, it's hands down one of the best movies ever. Newman and Gleason are aces and it's just a fantastic bit of storytelling. Big time props to the other guys that voted for it along with me~! The Sandlot and Remember the Titans are both excellent and I'm very happy to see them take prominent spots on this list.

    Tomorrow morning we'll take a look at...NUMBER THREE~!

I do not know how I let The Sandlot slip my mind. I've seen that movie at least 20 times.

I always saw Rudy as a missed opportunity, given that it's based a true story. It seems like he could have accomplished so much more if he had applied that passion and effort into something for which he had more aptitude.

Remember the Titans is pretty overrated, IMO. The Hustler is 100 percent an awesome choice. Well done.

    Quick catch up

    - Didn't get the fuss over Creed a lot of people saw, but the sequel looks pretty darn exciting
    - Space Jam is there with Cool Runnings as one of my childhood favourites
    - I need to rewatch Remember The Titans. Rated it highly years ago though
    - Warrior is pretty underrated. Everyone I know who's seen it loves it, but so many more simply haven't. Think it just missed the top fave in it's fave five year too

My #1 isn't on here yet, and I'm happy about that. It's definitely in my opinion the "best".

But my favorite, that's still definitely Varsity Blues. <3
