Can't have a 70's bands list without the band behind Australia's National Anthem!

well, I mean, not the official national anthem per se, but good bloody luck finding someone down here who actually knows the official anthem outside of the first line or so.

Special thanks to Smooth and Fuji for getting my attention for Television and the New Black Eagle Jazz Band. Never heard of either group, but both definitely won a fan. A bit surprised about Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers only getting one vote. The rest of this badge is between great and amazing. How the heck can we top that ?

Well...the next batch includes 7 groups and...let's just say we still have a hell of a journey in front of us.

UB40 is simply great for relaxing after a hard day of work with a glass of fine, red, red wine.

Televisin are so good it's a shame that more people haven't heard of them. I highly recommend checking out their first album, Marquee Moon, if you enjoyed the clip that Lucha posted. As for Tom Petty, I've kind of always thought of him as a solo act with a backing band as opposed to an actual band. Same goes for Bruce Springsteen.

Some really great bands here. Television was on my cutting board, sorry Fuji. The Clash, UB40, and Van Halen are good shouts.

Joy Division is another band I've never heard of. They sound amazing. I can't believe I completely overlooked The Police, so props to Wolf Beast to give 'em some love. Iron Maiden, Cheap Trick and Journey are great additions and it's great to see all of them appear on this countdown. Winner of this batch is definitely my buddy Smooth Jazz Wolf...I freakin' love ELO and they were the last cut from my list.

Next batch will not take that long to be up (I hope)...

    The Madness continues !

Fleetwood Mac shouldn't be on the list seeing as they weren't formed in the 70s.

Surprised Iron Maiden didn't get any more love. It's a tough field though. Almost included Cheap Trick, Joy Division and ELO though. Props to those who voted for them.

I expected Iron Maiden to be on a lot of people’s list honestly.

Joy Divison rules, good job Fuji.
