    Top 10 fav female....

    ...vocalists.

I can't do it. Can't even do it in any kind of order.

I'll do it like this in the next six months I will listen to...

    Nina Simone
    Bonnie Raitt
    Joan Osborne
    Memphis Minnie
    Bessie Smith
    Billie Holliday
    Patsy Cline
    Lucinda Williams
    Gillian Welsh
    Janis Joplin
    Lena Horne
    Victoria Spivey
    Etta James
    Sister Rosetta Tharpe

Just like I did the last six months.

Her "Strange Fruit" a must listen. Some might be sensitive to that tune, that's why I didn't use it.

    Can't forget....

This is considered THE female "country blues" classic.

Nothing goes over my sweet, sweet Amy Macdonald...

Also I think Pink is always quite underrated, when it comes to the whole "vocalists" thing. My top five would be completed with Aretha Franklin, Tracy Chapman and Janis Joplin.

Amy Winehouse ( Always loved the raspiness in here voice , gone to soon )

Whitney Houston ( was the first singer I had a huge crush on as kid )

Adele ( The best woman singer on the planet , her songs make me shed tears especially hello )

Jessie J ( Has A sassyness about here and has a fantastic voice )

Lady Gaga ( Has always poured her emotion in to her softer sided songs , )

Kesha ( Isn't the best singer in this category , but can and does always show her contemporaries how to put emotion into her song lyrics )

Jess Glynee ( The most successful singer in British pop 6 No1 records in a row , not even Adele has done that , has a lovely melody to her voice )

Mariah Carey ( out of al my picks , she has the most powerful voice by far but doesn't really seem to give it her all when performing in recent times )

Celine Dion ( A true great singer , pours her emotions into her music , and she's great live too !!)

Tracy Champan ( every time I hear fast car I swell up crying as it makes me reminded of my life in recent years , when I was a Kidd I though she was a man lol , the most underrated out of all my picks )

It's not a top 10 but just how I like each singer in a different way ,

What do u guys and girls think??

    Peace Y'all.

    Re: Top 10 fav female....

My Top 10 though honestly the way they are numbered isn't set in order of preference, just the way I wrote them out

    1. Ella Fitzgerald - I have always loved jazz and blues music because my father does, I was raised on it therefore it's just in my soul to love that sort of music . Ella and Billie are queens of music in my opinion and both are on my list.

    2. Billie Holliday - Same as Ella ^^ she's a queen with a gift

    3. Judy Garland - I love the power and richness and the way this woman put all of her soul and emotion into every song she sang, truly one of a kind vocally.

    4. Shirley Bassey - One of the most powerful voices of all time with some powerful songs. I love her.

    5. Adele - One of a few female voices of today that I can truly say no matter what the song is I enjoy it.

    6. Eartha Kitt - I love everything about this woman, whether she is talking or singing, that natural purr to her voice is like liquid gold and so unique. ^^ I feel like she was some majestic jungle cat in a past life, I can't think of any other way to describe her voice than that so there you go.

    7. Delta Goodrem - Her voice is beautiful but more importantly her song's are meaningful and often deep compared to a lot of artists today. I think her songs discuss real life plus I love a singer who can actually play an instrument so bonus points for that

    8. Nina Simone - she's a goddess of song ^^

    9. Karise Eden - Another modern singer that I love no matter what, though she's an Australian singer if you like Janis and Amy, you'll like Karise Eden's voice.

    10. Amy Winehouse - Her voice is such an amazing gift and it is tragic that she died so young.

    Honourable mentions to

Eydie Gorme - I really appreciate the tone and musicality that is present in this woman's voice though again it's an older one

Maria Mina - Her voice is sort of of mellow and different from my list so far, but her song's are meaningful like Delta's and for that reason relatable.

Katie Noonan - Another Australian but more lowkey than Delta, her voice is like honey so it's very soothing and lovely to listen to.

Elizaveta - Her voice is lovely and I listen to her a lot, also she sang the tavern songs for Dragon Age Inquisition and I recognised her voice immediately during the game because it's really unique sounding

I always think of a show like American Idol and here comes the unknown Patsy Cline.

Imagine the reaction from the crowd.
