    Re: WWF WCW ECW 1993

WCW Clash of the Champions XXII
    January 13, 1993
    Milwaukee, WI
    The Mecca

We first go to Bill Watts and Tony Schiavone. Watts brings out Van Hammer. Hammer is in a cast and makes the announcement that tonight he will not be able to compete in the arm wrestling match against Tony Atlas. Watts announces that the arm wrestling match is off as Atlas will only face his son Erik Watts tonight. Speaking of Erik Schiavone throws it to Larry Zbyszko who is standing by with Erik Watts.

Larry Zbyszko is standing by with Erik Watts right now: Watts stumbles through the interview, talking about some kind of incident taht took place at a gas station with Arn Anderson. Zbysko tells us to tune into Saturday Night to see the video tape.

Your hosts are Jim Ross and Jesse Ventura.

Match #1: Cactus Jack vs Brad Armstrong. Jesse mentions how there’s a ton of Cactus Jack signs in the crowd. Ross talks about Jack breaking away from Harley Race and Vader. Armstrong punches out of the corner and whips Cactus in, but he grabs hold of the ropes and does the *BANG BANG!* pose for a huge pop. Cactus goes low to take over, but then charges into the turnbuckle. School boy gets two. Armstrong grabs an armbar, but Cactus punches out. He runs into a boot in the corner though and Armstrong punches back. He goes for the Diving Crossbody, but Cactus moves out of the way, sending Armstrong crashing to the mat. Elbow drop, 1-2-3. Winner @ 2:50 Cactus Jack.

Tony Schiavone announces that we have a NEW NWA World Champion in the Great Muta. They’ll have footage of the match next Sunday!

The “2 Cold Scorpio” mini-movie airs where he meets a bunch of kids playing b-ball when they should be in school. These kids aren’t going to get to school by normal means like riding in Scorpio’s limo or walking – these kids are going to STEP to school.

Match #2: Erik Watts vs Tony Atlas. Atlas runs over Watts with a bunch of shoulderblocks, and then delivers a big splash while Watt’s lying on his side. Watts comes back with a pair of shoulderblocks of his own, and Atlas takes a nose-full of powder. Back in, Atlas poses like a special needs jungle cat, and Watts shoots a look to the crowd that clearly gives the message of “dah fock is wrong with that man?” A test of strength follows, and Atlas CHEATS by kicking Watts in the gut. That just serves to piss Watts off, and he suplexes Atlas clear across the ring. A shoulderblock misses, and Watts hits the buckle. Atlas is all over it, laying more damage to his rotator cuff. Still, Watts is able to come back with a powerslam, and he scores a quick win. Winner @ 4:13 Erik Watts.

We go back to the previous Sunday’s Main Event show where Cactus Jack took on Paul Orndorff in a street fight. During the match, Harley Race kept bugging Cactus, so he turns on Race and gives him a clothesline off the apron! The match continues until Vader comes to avenge his boss Harley Race for a three-on-one attack. Since Jack has no friends, no one comes out to help him. Later on in the program, Vader, Orndorff and Race had a little interview time. That was just the moment Cactus needed to run in and beat them all down with a SHOVEL!

Buy the WCW Slam Jam album!

Match #3: 2 Cold Scorpio vs Scotty Flamingo. They screw up a handspring move in the early goings. Scorpio teases a pescado, but Flamingo walks away and then turns around into a flying clothesline off the apron. They head back in, but Flamingo mule kicks and dropkicks Scorpio out for a running pescado of his own. Back in again, Flamingo hits a suplex and then goes to a chinlock. Scorpio escapes, and hits a dropkick. He follows up with that flying splash he does where he changes positions in mid-air! That gets two. Flamingo makes a short comeback, but Scorpio cuts him off with a superkick. 2 Cold hits the corkscrew leg drop out of the corner and then puts Flamingo away with the 450 SPLASH! Winner @ 9:13 2 Cold Scorpio.

They build the return of the Rock n Roll Express and how successful they’ve been in SMW.

Match #4: Barry Windham vs Dustin Rhodes: WCW United States Heavyweight Title Tournament, Final - WCW United States Heavyweight Title Match. Dustin hammers away on Windham on the floor but they quickly enter the ring where Windham trades strikes with Rhodes. Rhodes takes Windham down with a press slam and a backdrop. They go to the floor again with Dustin nailing Barry with several strikes before returning to the ring. Windham drops Rhodes with a strike to the face but Dustin fights back with punches in the corner and a clothesline. Windham plants Rhodes with a DDT to gain control of the match. The crowd appears to be very pro-Barry despite playing the heel role. Windham takes Rhodes over with a vertical suplex for a near fall. They go to the outside again where Windham slams Dustin face first onto a table at ringside. Windham drops Rhodes with more strikes before rolling back into the ring. Dustin rights out of the corner and blocks a kick only for Windham to still keep control of the match with a clothesline. Windham plants Rhodes with another DDT and stomps on Dustin. Windham slams Dustin’s injured hand over the top turnbuckle. Windham hits a hammerlock scoop slam and hits a knee drop for a two count. Rhodes battles back with a DDT of his own and heads to the top rope but misses an elbow drop landing on his bad arm. Windham leg drops the lower midsection area of Rhodes. Barry wrenches on the injured arm under the top rope. Rhodes backdrops Windham and hammers away on Windham some more. Rhodes clotheslines Windham and sends Windham into the referee. Rhodes hits the bulldog but there isn’t a referee for the count. Dustin turns around and Windham whacks him over the head with his boot! Windham has the cover and pins Rhodes. Winner @ 6:06 NEW WCW U.S. CHAMPION BARRY WINDHAM.

Vader invites Sting to come to his “White Castle of Fear”.

More videos. The whole U.S. Championship tournament is reviewed including the match we just saw.

Tony Schiavone is standing by with Sting, Ricky Steamboat and Shane Douglas. They hype up Thundercage.

Now we go back to Larry Zbyszko, who is with Vader, Harley Race, Steve Austin & Brian Pillman. Race is feeling pretty good.

Next up, they show a video package of the history of the last two Superbrawl shows.

Match #5: Sting, WCW/NWA Tag Team Champions Ricky Steamboat & Shane Douglas vs Big Van Vader, Steve Austin & Brian Pillman: Thundercage. Steamboat tries to get the win early on Austin. Pillman runs in to stop all that, so Douglas comes in and helps clean house on the heels. Back in, Austin wants a handshake. Steamboat’s not falling for that cheapshot tactic though. Austin kicks him in the gut anyway and tags Vader. Sting gets a blind tag, Vader starts off stiffing Sting, but he comes back with a clothesline that staggers Vader. He follows up with a DDT and hits a Stinger Splash. He punches and kicks Vader down in the corner and cleans house on the Blonds. Sting cross-corner whips Vader in, but he flips out of the corner and lands on the apron. Sting charges and Vader catches him coming in. Vader comes off the top with a clothesline. Now he wants a flying splash, but Sting moves out of the way. Sting clotheslines Vader out , but then Pillman sneaks in and gives Sting a German suplex out of nowhere. He chops away, but Sting catches him in an armbar. Some frequent tags made as they work on the arm. Pillman feigns a knee injury to screw with Douglas and rolls to the apron, but his plan backfires and Douglas catches him coming off the apron with a powerslam. Cover, 1-2-NO! Vader tags and hits a Avalanche on Douglas. Austin tags and wants a SUPERPLEX, but Sting punches him down and makes the HOT TAG TO DOUGLAS! He hits the BELLY-TO-BELLY SUPLEX on Pillman, but Austin breaks up the pin with a flying double-ax handle and places Pillman on top. Cover, 1-2-NO! Steamboat and Austin brawl on the floor. Sting and Vader also on the floor. While the ref tries to get Steamboat and Sting back over to their corner, Cactus Jack is at ringside and he’s got bolt cutters. He gets inside the door and beats on Vader with a SHOVEL. Douglas Belly to Belly Suplexed Pillman for the 1-2-3. Winners @ 24:39 Sting, Steamboat, Douglas.

    Re: WWF WCW ECW 1993

    World Wrestling Federation RAW
    Date: 1/18/1993
From: Manhattan Center, New York City

Vince welcomes us to RAW, along with Rob Bartlett and Randy Savage.

    RAW Opening Video

Match #1: Virgil vs Terry Taylor. The contest may have been “slow”, but there was an even amount of offense from both men. Winner @ 10:30 Virgil.

Vince stood in the ring and introduced Bret "The Hitman" Hart, who came out to a great response, and had a big smile on his face. Vince mentioned that the WWF Championship would be on the line that Sunday at the Royal Rumble. He brought up the interview from last week with Razor Ramon. He mentions that Razor not only had a pop at Bret, but also at his family. Bret said he doesn’t respect Razor for what he has done to his family, kicking his brother Owen like a dog, and talking about slapping his father. Bret said that no real wrestler would think about slapping a 78 year old man, and Bret thinks Razor is the scum of the WWF. Vince asked Bret what his strategy would be at the Royal Rumble. Bret responded by saying that the belt proves he’s the best wrestler in the world, but come Sunday he would "Beat Razor down unconscious street, and beat you from one end of the ring to the other." He went on to say he would win for his family, and that he will show him "why I am the World Wrestling Federation Champion, I am the toughest, the meanest and the best" .

We see a promo by Undertaker.

Match #2: Steiner Brothers (Rick Steiner and Scott Steiner) vs Glenn Ruth & Skull Von Krush. Awesome Steiners squash, nothing out of the ordinary here. Winners @ 5:10 Steiner Brothers.

Back from the break, the camera shows the three announcers, and Vince stated that Crush won’t be in the Royal Rumble because of the actions of Doink on All American Wrestling over the weekend. They showed the clip from All American, where Doink was trying to hand Crush a flower. Crush turned his back on Doink, who took a cast out of his sling and started beating the holy hell out of Crush with it. Vince tried to play off the fact that Doink took "his arm right out of the socket" until Randy Savage pointed out that it was just a cast.
Vince says that Crush may have suffered a concussion from that attack.

Vince, Savage & Bartlett hype the Royal Rumble this Sunday. They say that for the first time in the match's history, the winner will go to WrestleMania to face the World Champion! They run down the participants already announced, including: Jerry Lawler, Bob Backlund, The Nasty Boys, The Headshrinkers, Yokozuna, The Undertaker, Tatanka, Owen Hart and Randy Savage.
Royal Rumble Report. Mean Gene runs down the card for the Royal Rumble. We get a pre-tape from Shawn Michaels who cuts a promo while looking in a mirror, and runs down Jannetty. We get a pre-tape from Bob Backlund hyping his match with Berzerker and telling Doink if he wants some, come get some. And finally, Money Inc cuts a pre-tape saying since everybody has a price they will win the Rumble. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Match #3: Tatanka vs Ric Flair. Late in the contest, Mr. Perfect comes down and brawls with Ric Flair on the floor. Winner @ 8:40 No Contest.

Post-match, Hennig chases Flair around ringside and they begin brawling up the aisle way. Tons of agents and referees rush out to break it up but they're having on helluva hard time as WE CUT TO COMMERCIAL BREAK!!!

Ric Flair storms the announce table and tells Vince that this is it. He says this he wants Mr. Perfect at the Royal Rumble. Flair says Perfect isn't man enough, and he'll never see the day in his life that he beats Ric Flair, and Flair walks off.

Mr. Perfect comes down to the ring, walking right past Ric Flair on the other side of the ring. Perfect quickly accepts the match for the Royal Rumble.

Recap of the feuds and story's going into the Royal Rumble on Sunday close us out.

Cairo ducks a line but then catches a knee in the stomach coming off the Irish whip. Evans slams Cairo’s head into the buckle. Cairo comes off the second rope with a fist drop. Evans reverses a corner whip but Cairo jumps to the middle buckle hits a cross body and gets the win. Winner @ 7:57 Tommy Cairo.

WWA Promoter Dennis Coraluzzo comes to the ring to introduce his WWA Tag Team Champions Pain and Agony The Lords of Darkness. They are lead to the ring by their manager Tricky Nicky. ECW President Tod Gordon hits the ring to announce his tag team The Super Destroyers.

Match #2: WWA Tag Team Champions Lords of Darkness (w/Tricky Nicky) vs. ECW Tag Team Champions Super Destroyers (w/Hunter Q. Robbins III). Destroyer pushes a Lord off and the other one complains of a mask pull. Coraluzzo gets on the mic and complains that it’s an ECW ref. the Destroyer hits a pump handle and then a press slam and tags. Re: WWF WCW ECW 1993

Build up to the Rumble still seems pretty solid without anything standing out from in real life. Flair/Perfect is building well but I'm just really looking forward to seeing what you do with the Rumble. I think from a WWF side of things this could be where you really start to make it your own.

Also, I marked for having the first ECW show posted. I still think you could improve your formatting and what not, but I'll keep reading anyway.

After Shawn's gone, Marty, the ref and a few other refs help Sherri up. When she realizes Shawn is gone, she freaks out and runs to the back after him.

Backstage, "Mean Gene" is waiting by, talking about what just happened, when Sensational Sherri walks by, crying and flipping out. Gene can't get a word in edge wise and screams "SHERRI! DAMNIT! SETTLE DOWN, YOU ARE HYSTERICAL!" Shawn Michaels comes over with a smug look and goes to give a half assed explanation as to what happened, BUT JANNETTY TACKLES HIM DOWN AND THE TWO START BRAWLING! Sherri continues to freak out as refs tear the two apart.

Match #4: WWF Champion Bret Hart vs Razor Ramon. Nice starting sequence when Bret gives a kid his shades then Razor mocked it and went out and threw his tooth pic at the same kid for heat as the fans booed, then Bret attacked him. Bret scored with big right hands and forearm shots into the corner as the crowd was going wild for the WWF Champion. Razor scored back with a few and Heenan pointed out Razor was tough. Ramon backs The Hitman into the corner then irish whips him hard into the buckle before charging the high corner but exposed his left knee. The Hitman took apart the knee next which was a sound move but not surprising since Bret is so fundamentally, technically sound. Bret took the knee off Razor and then dropped his body weight onto the knee before slapping on a figure four and the crowd was going crazy for Bret Hart. Bret cornered Razor and took apart both knees this time as he planted one above the middle rope and kicked at them. Soon enough Razor irish whipped out of desperation The Hitman to the corner and Bret sold the sling shot brilliantly and hit the bottom of the ring post from the inside stomach first damaging the ribs. Rib damage makes it hard to breathe, Razor`s strategy then became apparent to suck the life out of the WWF Champion. Razor Ramon hit a back breaker to follow up on the rib punishment on the outside. Inside the ring Razor slapped on an abdominal stretch (after some more punishment in the ring) to kill the bad ribs of Bret and Heenan loves it. Bret gasped for air and that`s just what Hall wanted. Bret though magically reversed it into an abdominal stretch but couldn't hold it, bought himself a little time as Razor missed an elbow drop to Bret`s head and then Razor got up and overpowered him with a hard irish whip to the corner. Razor continues the punishment but Bret comes out of it with a big crossbody and then some near falls however the damage had been done and Razor kicked at Bret`s mid-section that had been exposed. Ramon followed up this with good psychology and slaps on a bearhug mid-ring until Bret poked him in the eye then got out of it. Razor had The Hitman Bret Hart on his back in the middle of the ring while he stood in the corner and then Bret got up selling brilliant to no surprise and was able to backdrop Razor out of the ring back first. The BAD GUY HAD BEEN IN CONTROL and was looking to become the World Wrestling Federation Champion. Bret flew through the ropes and connected with Ramon on the outside. Bret then pounded on Hall in the ring as the fans chanted along with his striking blows. Bret showing great signs of resilience and then knocked Razor down on the canvas. I liked earlier when Monsoon talked about Bret defending the WWF Title more in the last few months then some people did in there entire run`s as Champion. Bret hit a nice back breaker and that`s why he is the Excellence of Execution. Bret flies off with a clothesline but only a near fall. Hart then hits his Bulldog which is a signature move. Bret Hart then followed that up with an side russian legsweep ATTEMPT until Ramon countered with an awesome neck breaker. Bret to his feet first and grabbed the long legs of Hall and went for a Sharpshooter attempt but Hall with his long reach grabbed the ropes which were near him obvioussly and then Bret pulled him back again but Hall got out. Ramon continued to follow the story of the match and hit The Hitman in the gut with strong blows to injure the rib-section. Razor Ramon set up Bret up high until Bret caught him with an elbow then flipped over his back and hit a back suplex in awesome fashion. Bret came from the top and jumped into a big boot from Razor. Razor went for the Razor`s Edge but The Hitman hit a back slide and this looked to be the closing spot but Razor kicked out and went back to work on Razor`s ribs. Another hard shot by Hall to Bret`s injured ribs making it look like the Champion might not be able to come back. Razor stood strong in the middle of the ring and then kicked at Bret`s ribs while he was on his knees and he twisted The Hitman`s hands, Bret with a unique pinning combination as he flipped over Hall and then Hart translates that to The Sharpshooter and Bret Hart retains the WWF Title. Winner @ 17:58 Bret Hart.

Post match, Bret celebrates to the back with the WWF Title.

    Re: WWF WCW ECW 1993

    World Wrestling Federation presents RAW
    Date: 1/25/1993
From: Manhattan Center, New York City

Sean Mooney is outside and is shortly joined by Ric Flair. Flair says he is now going to Wrestlemania to recapture his WWF Championship. Flair says not even a parasite like Mr. Perfect can ruin his high tonight. Flair then challenges Perfect to the final chapter in the Perfect/Flair saga at Saturday Night's Main Event in 3 weeks time. Flair wants Perfect vs Flair 2 out of 3 falls and we finally find out who the best is.

    RAW Opening Video

Vince McMahon welcomes everyone to RAW alongside Bobby Heenan. They go over tonight's show. Which includes the debut of The Volcano Kid and The Predator.

Match #1: WWF Tag Team Champions Ted Dibiase & IRS (w/ Jimmy Hart) vs the Bushwhackers. Great battle between two fun tag teams. IRS pinned Butch with a knee to the back after Butch became distracted by Hart on the ring apron. Winners @ 13:30 Money Inc.

A promo by Bob Backlund talking about the “Headlock on Hunger”.

    Wrestle Mania video package/hype

Match #2: The Volcano Kid vs The Brooklyn Brawler. Amazing squash by Kid. Volcano Kid makes his WWF TV debut here. Winner @ 3:32 Volcano Kid.

After the match, Mr. Perfect heads to the announce booth where Vince grabs a mic. Perfect says he accepts Flair's challenge at SNME and he will be done with Ric Flair once and for all.

Gene goes over the results of the Royal Rumble. Bret Hart retained the WWF World Heavyweight Championship defeating Razor Ramon. Lex Luger ended up being Bobby Heenan’s surprise. Ric Flair won the Royal Rumble and will face Bret Hart at WWF Wrestle Mania IX. Also at the pay per view Shawn Michaels retained the WWF Intercontinental Championship defeating Marty Jannetty. Lastly, Bam Bam Bigelow attacked Undertaker and damn near put Undertaker to rest.

Back down at ringside, Shawn Michaels is interviewed in the ring by Vince. Shawn makes an announcement saying Sherri's going to be taking a sabbatical from being in his corner for a while. And quite frankly, let's be honest, it's not like he needs her anymore. When he was a young, impressionable rookie all the way back in 1992, he needed the guidance of a seasoned wildcat like Sherri. But now that he's become the grizzled vet that he is, the Heartbreak Kid is ready to become a man, and quite honestly, he doesn't need anybody. Tatanka comes out and says what goes on between Shawn & Sherri is between them and behind closed doors, but personally, he thinks its a disgrace how he disrespects her on a constant basis. Shawn pokes fun at his heritage and asks if he really needs to bring up what Tatanka's people do to women, because that makes the spat's he gets in with Sherri seem tame. Tatanka again talks about Shawn's constant disrespect. Shawn laughs off Tatanka and brings up how he smartly eliminated Tatanka last night in the Rumble match. Tatanka stares at him and Shawn asks if he's comprehending what he's saying. Tatanka's ready to blow so Shawn agrees to leave. Tatanka turns to talk to the crowd as Vince interviews him. Shawn feigns leaving only to turn around and NAIL Tatanka with the Intercontinental Title! He lays down next time in his style and poses into the IC Belt, fixing his hair while looking in the nameplate. He tells Tatanka that since he can't read, he'll tell him that the nameplate on this belt reads SHAWN MICHAELS, which means until he decides to let go, this is his ring, this is his time, and nobody impedes on his time. Get it? Got it? ...He doesn't get it! Shawn dances over Tatanka and leaves.

Match #3: The Predator vs Ocean Haliful. Predator is the second debut on tonight's Raw. Predator was Horace Hogan. Heenan leaves the announce booth 30 seconds before the end. Clothesline off the top gets Predator the win. Winner @ 1:34 Predator.

After the match, Predator celebrates the win as Heenan is up in the stands of the Manhattan Center and is showing off Lex Luger to the fans, mainly the women.

A special video airs on BRUTUS THE BARBER BEEFCAKE! It's a quick piece, highlighting his tenure in the WWF, talking about his horrible accident a few years back, and how he's recovered, and he's making his WWF return on MONDAY NIGHT RAW IN TWO WEEKS TIME!!

Back from break, we see the sit down interview with Bret Hart and Vince McMahon from before the show as they sit in the seats of the arena. Bret talks about his successful title defense against Razor Ramon. Vince asks him about any future challenges and he said he knows that Razor Ramon's been politicking backstage for a rematch. Bret says he was proud of their match last night and all Razor has to do is ask for the rematch and Bret will give it to him. Vince brings up Bret's next challenge that being Ric Flair. Bret says Flair's a very skilled wrestler and one heck of an athlete. But Bret's a fighting champion, he's a proud champion, and he's not going to be intimidated by a guy of Flair's stature. Alot of people would sit here and beg Flair off or try to sweet talk him into taking it easy, but being the Excellence of Execution, he'll just say three words: Bring it on.

Bob Backlund cuts an angry pre-tape promo, freaking out about Doink the Clown's antics and how he used illegal tactics to trick him during the Rumble. He won't stand for that, but moreso, he won't stand for Doink's treatment of children. He says the next time Doink steps out of line, he's going to put Doink in a cast.

    End of Show
