    Re: Your Wrestling Breaking Points

I wouldn't call it a "breaking point" , but I became a "sometime" WWE watcher sometime after Mania this year. The product simply doesn't have what I want to see on a regular basis. I still occasionaly do NXT, but RAW and Smackdown have become strictly things I read about these days.

    Re: Your Wrestling Breaking Points

So the Fiend Hell in a Cell stuff was my new breaking point. Although honestly, I think it really comes back to the Blood Money show after Kashoggi was murdered and the distastefulness of the whole WWE-Saudi relationship. After HIAC, I cancelled the WWE network subscription and haven't actually watched any of the shows since. I did flip to the first Fox Smackdown a couple of times but I haven't even bothered with that of late. I just.... don't give a fuck about the company or its product. Its rather freeing.

I will go back, I'm quite sure. At the very least, they will start getting my Network sub money at some point in the future, because the juicy catalogs I want access to are just too tempting.

Do see enough on here and Twitter and talked about on some of the podcasts I listen to regularly that I still have a feel for what's going on. And none of it makes me feel like I should go back to watching regularly.

I still listen to my usual wrestling podcasts because they keep me in the loop as well as being really funny guys. And anything they talk a lot about is easy enough to get on youtube.

Exactly. If there is something monumental that I NEED to see.... you can find it.

    Re: Your Wrestling Breaking Points

It's a shame that earlier in the year I was looking forward to the thought of having Smackdown on Friday evenings so that I'd be able to watch live being a UK fan, but I think I managed two episodes of doing that before throwing in the towel.

I do think Papa that Crown Jewel has had an effect on my own enjoyment of WWE this month. Not only was Vince leaving his employees stranded in Saudi Arabia a cowardly act which is impossible to defend, but they went in too much with the MMA/Boxing/freakshow matches rather than just presenting wrestling.

    Re: Your Wrestling Breaking Points

Two new ones this year, both reflecting the current trend of the WWE to ignore all of their homegrown talent in favor of pushing Brock Lesnar at all costs.

    1. Giving Brock the MITB briefcase in one of the worst swerves of all time
    2. Brock squashing Kofi back to irrelevancy after one of the most inspiring face title runs in years

I gave up halfway through the draft the very next week and haven't felt tempted to watch a lick since.

    Re: Your Wrestling Breaking Points

With me it was the around WM time and realising I really didn't care at all about the show. The idea of organising it around 2/3 evenings of my week was filling me with dread more than anything. I came to the conclusion that if I couldn't look forward to that show, then what interest could I continue to have with WWE? Especially now with so many alternatives available, it just seemed a better use of my energy to walk away from it rather than continue to bitch about the product every week.

    Re: Your Wrestling Breaking Points

I'm pretty sure I responded to this when the thread first started so I won't repeat myself, but what I'll add isn't my breaking point, but my biggest barrier for coming back. It's the damn shaky cam. Honestly, as someone who hasn't watched much for several years now, every time I seek out a clip or decide to watch a show I find it completely unwatchable due to the way it's shot. I know this isn't a hot take or anything new or whatever, but if it's capable of turning off someone who regularly posts on a wrestling forum and wants to give it a go, I can't imagine how unappealing it must be for a casual person who flicks over to see if it's for them.
