    Well, yeah...

I'm alluding more to the cultural impact. You think the channel is just over 10 years old now, how many of the younger UK talent coming through now were first exposed to US Indy and Puro through watching the channel when they were 10/12 years old? The streaming boom has only really kicked in the last 4 years with the WWE Network.

Re: Bound for Glory 2018 Discussion Thread

IMPACT Knockouts Champion Tessa Blanchard was successful in her title defense at IMPACT Wrestling’s “Bound For Glory” this past weekend. She defeated Taya Valkyrie to retain her title. The same can not be said for Austin Aries. He was defeated by bitter rival Johnny Impact and dropped the IMPACT World Championship in the process.

After the match, however, Aries no-sold the effects of the bout and went backstage after yelling at Johnny and throwing up some unfriendly hand gestures. Blanchard was recently interviewed on “Busted Open Radio” and was asked about the incident. When asked if she thinks Aries disrespected the IMPACT locker room with his actions, Blanchard believes, to an extent, he did:

“To an extent, yes. I’m not really sure what Austin was trying to accomplish. Brian [Cage] said it before, I think if the roles were reversed and Austin was sitting in the locker room watching that happen, I’m sure he would feel disrespected, I’m sure he would not be so happy.

“He would have some things to say and some questions. So if the roles were reversed, I’m sure he would be in the same position as the whole locker room kind of felt, I think.”
Kinda sucks what happened with Aries and Impact because you could legit put Aries/Tess vs Impact/Taya for months if not the next PPV for them and that won't happen now, because I haven't heard anything about Aries returning and he wasn't on Impact this week either.

Re: Bound for Glory 2018 Discussion Thread

    So I've watched BFG.

Opening tag match was alright. I think they should probably stick with Swann and Mack as a tag team for now because they've got good chemistry and the LAX boys need new challengers. The only thing that hurt this for me (and was an annoyance for most of the evening) was the shoutouts to the sponsors of the PPV. I hated Mack's promo about bumping up two fans to the front row.

Tessa/Taya was my MOTN. I've been really impressed with Tessa this year in Impact. She's a good talker and she really presents herself well as being better than anyone else because she's from a famous wrestling family. It maybe easy to stand out when the only other thing with women on the show is the Su Yung crap and Scarlett being eye candy, but she's really impressing me with her matches as well. I have to say Taya was better than normal too, I'm not particularly high on her as a wrestler but she did really well here and when she kicked out of the DDT, I thought there might of been a chance for a title switch (with the company getting behind Johnny too). Right decision to keep the belt on Tessa and with J.Grace coming into the company, I think that's a great match to be building towards for the next PPV.

I skipped the Eddie Edwards stuff because I've seen enough of Tommy fucking Dreamer on a PPV in 2018. Edwards Vs Moose could of been good but switching it to a tag with Killer Kross and Dreamer involved isn't up my street at all.

Decent 6 man tag with the Lucha Bros, Cage and oVe. It felt quite PWG with it's mindless pace and everyone getting their shit in. Still think it's a shame we didn't just get a Cage X-Division title defence and another Luchador could of been the third man on this team. Especially when Cage is dropping a fall to Sami.

Rather like Dennis/Andrews from Progress was ruined by the unbreakable tables, LAX/OGz was ruined by the bone headed decision to wrestle the match on exposed wooden boards that weren't fixed so they moved around whenever someone walked and left holes in the ring. Not only was this a dangerous environment to work in that had me worried as I'm watching, but it meant these guys were taking extra precautions in how careful they were being, running a lot slower for dives etc. It killed the atmosphere of this gang warfare blood feud coming to an end. This feud has had it's ups and downs (Konnan saying the most disrespectful thing King did was burn his mask he hasn't used in 20 years in an angle that involved King killing a kid) but I'm glad it exists and it's been the highlight of Impact in 2018.

UNDEAD REALM. Move over Final Deletion, move over LU Season 4. This is officially the worst cinematic wacky sports entertainment segment of 2018. This was like a 10 minute set up to a Buffy the Vampire Slayer spoof porno where no-one takes off their clothes in the end. I don't know why they continue to promote this Su Yung crap but here we are. This nonsense was so low budget it's unreal. I'll have to find the full version to post on the board so you guys can see it.

Aries/Impact was a decent main event but I had no attachment to who won or lost here. Impact is years past being relevant I feel and Aries has proven himself to be a dickhead in recent weeks. The match did feel in cannon with their shoot comments in interviews, this was more aggressive than we normally get with these guys. Even the opening minutes rolling around on the mat felt like they were trying to one up each other for real. The finish is so bad now that I've seen Impact hit the brainbuster AND starship pain in a row. The thing is Aries will be a big miss for the company because he's been a credible world champion for them, but the right decision if he's gone into business for himself there is to cut all ties. Don't want another Alberto on the roster.

Overall, decent show but nowhere near as good as Slammiversary

I still need to watch this. Especially the Su Yung garbage.

Tommy Dreamer might be in my worst wrestler of the year nominations because I’m really tired of him popping up in nearly every promotion this year, having actual angles, and stinking up the joint. Impact, MLW, Lucha Underground, ROH, etc. It’s baffling to me.

What's absurd to me is Dreamer hasn't been good since the 90s. Even then it was mostly a right place, right time situation.

Also, @Ed, don't put much stock in this but I have been seeing "reports" Impact is looking to negotiate with Del Rio again.

Oh my God really? Patron never had any kind of momentum in the company during his runs, and it didn't help things with his personal issues with Paige I don't see the need for him to be with them to serve any purpose of importance at all. I rather them bring and keep Aries because I could see him being a better asset especially if they want to switch him to The X-Division and put over guys like Cage.

Oh please no. Patron is way past it now. He just brings too much negativity around him. They'd be better off bringing Bookah back
I have a plan so cunning......
