If your "friend" has active infractions they'd be gone for a month.

Look, I get it, sometimes posts get made while you're making your first post and you want to respond to those too and once in awhile it's no big deal. However, when it's an ongoing thing I have to look at it as a violation of the WC rules, which by the way I didn't create in the first place. I'm not trying to be a bad guy here, I'm just doing what my high paying job here says I have to do.

Again, if it only happens once in awhile, no big deal. I just don't want to see anyone making a habit out of it. I will compromise a little and say that I have no issue with double posts that occur during the games since that constitutes a live discussion. I just don't see any reason to be making them on off days is all.

Re: 2018 NFL Season Discussion Thread

My point was, upsets happen. They have happened in the Super Bowl, playoffs, etc. You have had complete blowouts by the underdog in a Super Bowl numerous times. You have had teams expected to be dead last in the division go to win it all.

Is it the norm? No. Does it happen a lot? No. That is why they are upsets and it's any given Sunday. (Or Monday or Thursday, as Silk pointed out. )

Looking strictly at numbers, what is most likely to happen, and statistics...Only tells one tale of the story. You can factor all that in, and then have those all get thrown out as the heavily favored team at home gets blown out by a team who has done horrible all season.

Finally, Dez Bryant HAS come back to FOOTBALL...!

He has signed with the Saints.

    Badly need a receiver?

    Michael Thomas is looking amazing.

Glad for Dez, though. He did exactly what he said he would from day one. Get a 1 year gimme deal for a team that's a contender, and he'd sign up in the fall.

As a long time Drew Brees mark, now I've got even more reason to watch the Saints.

I think Doom meant another receiver as the Saints had no number 2 after Ginn was hurt.

    Exactly Fuji.

Brees can't keep throwing Thomas the ball, because he only depends on him a great majority of the time. The Saints need a wide receiver to pair up with Thomas and give Brees breathing room.

And props to Fuji on pointing out the injury of Ginn, which makes it obvious why the Saints signed Dez.

Fair enough, was thinking you were implying they had no valuable WRs. Even with Ginn injured, they are still one of the better WR corps compared to some teams.

Definitely a move that will push them over the edge, though.

This move, if Dez stays healthy, is pretty big for the Saints. Dez has been waiting and waiting for the right opportunity to join a team that are playoff contenders. I was pretty happy he didn't end up signing with the Browns because I'm sure he doesn't want to waste his time playing their, with all the losses and coach turnovers in the past. He wants to be a part of a winning team, and I can't blame him for making the right decision.

Dez is still good, he's just not as good at creating seperation as he was before his ankle injuries. He's one of the best when it comes to 50-50 jump balls. I would say, besides Stafford, that Brees is the best QB matchup for him.

How about that Drew Brees, though? Looking arguably the best he has in years. By far the most accurate QB this season, and best QBR.

Dez can't beat people on pure skill anymore but in the right scheme he could absolutely run open on some good routes, and as Vayne noted, ain't nothing wrong with his hands. Couldn't ask for a better scenario to return to prominence than playing for Sean Payton and with Drew Brees. I expect he'll have a pretty good down-the-stretch run if he stays upright.

The Steelers slaughtered the Panthers 52-21. The Steelers offense was hitting on all cylinders, the Panthers never stood a chance against the high octane offense led by Big Ben.

Here's some notes that's worthy to be mentioned:

    - Roethlisberger achieved a perfect-passer rating going 22-25 328 yards and 5 TDs.
    - 52 points was the more points scored in their franchise since 1984.
    - Steelers scored three touchdowns in a span of 24 seconds in the first quarter.
    - 52 points tied the most the Panthers gave up in their franchise.

What a night for the men in black and gold.

With just how well James Conner plays, and how successful the Steelers are playing...combined with the fact he's blown 7.7 million, can we collectively laugh at how Le'Veon Bell is a complete non-factor for someone who feels like he's the best RB in the league? Yet alone, his suspension issues and injury issues and frequent fines.

Imagine, him thinking he's as good as Todd Gurley.

Probably funnier to laugh at anyone that took Carolina last night.

Re: 2018 NFL Season Discussion Thread

Not exactly like it was expected by any means to look like that, nor a particularly bad bet.

I wouldn't by any means say Carolina was favored, but it was hardly like they are a bad team this year.

That being said, one of the reasons I said a few pages back that I still have doubts (Despite looking good) about Carolina is how inconsistent they can be.

One minuet, Cam is in the MVP talks. The next? Well.... You guys saw the game last night.

And it's kind of been this way every year except 2015.

I was at the game last night with Broc :D

Great one to go to. Ben throwing 2 more TDs than he threw incompletions was awesome to see.
