    Most heels these days wish they could get the kind of heat Nikolai got when he sang the Russian national anthem. I always enjoyed his character and he seemed like a genuinely nice guy. I’m fairly certain his was also among the first LJN action figures I owned, along with Iron Sheik, Andre, Hogan and JYD.

    RIP Nikolai.

    This breaks my heart. Nikolai was one of the good guys. He went through so much as a child and to see where he went and what he accomplished is what the American Dream philosophy is truly all about. And I had the pleasure of meeting him last year in Orlando, and he truly was a class act and extremely nice to me. I'll never forget the experience. May he rest in peace.
