Instead, she returns to her native Scotland to reclaim her rightful throne. But Scotland and England fall under the rule of the compelling Elizabeth 1. Each young Queen beholds her “sister” in fear and fascination. Rivals in power and in love, and female regents in a masculine world, the two must decide how to play the game of marriage versus independence. Determined to rule as much more than a figurehead, Mary asserts her claim to the English throne, threatening Elizabeth’s sovereignty. Betrayal, rebellion, and conspiracies within each court imperil both thrones – and change the course of history.

Re: Mary, Queen of Scots (2018)

This Movie is so perfect and since the last Trailer like Outlaw King which I saw recently which was great, I decided to watch Documentaries to prep myself for those films. It's crazy how Mary got this point in history. They kinda told it pretty much after the fighting over the Crown involving the Scots like Robert the Bruce, their was legit no one else who could take the Crown by Mary. Mary fled to come to Elizabeth more so for protection and alot of people considered her the true Queen and she at one held Elizabeth's Throne as her own if you can believe that. I wonder how much they'll go into her life, because from what I read it doesn't end well for her in 1587.

In limited release, Focus Features's Mary Queen of Scots began its run in four locations with an estimated $200,000 for a chart-topping $50k per theater average. The film will expand next weekend into approximately 70 locations.
So this will expand next week, but pretty damn solid numbers for only being in 4 locations.
