    2018 NHL Offseason Discussion

Necro mentioned it so I'll make one.

Some big signs and trades so far. Biggest one being John Tavares to the Leafs for 7 years and 77 million.

Everyone is waiting on Karlsson to move. Most likely to the Lightning, at least it would seem at this point.

Actually I heard Dallas is the front-runner which makes sense cause they have prospects, picks, and players to move and both teams have a trade relationship.

I just want the Flyers to be decent enough to make the playoffs. Is that too much to ask for?

Yeah very bizarre story with Yzerman.

The Max Pacioretty trade is pretty interesting, too.

Vegas was a rumored destination I'm surprised they got as much for him as they did. Not exactly dealing from a position of strength

I definitely didn’t see Stevie Y stepping down. I have a feeling Ken Holland is retiring and Stevie will replace him.

I'm also interested in the Goalie situation in Boston. They have a ton of money tied up in the position by signing Halak in the off season. Bruins aren't scared to pull Rask if he starts playing like crap. 10.2 million in just goalies is nuts.

The problem is they have 2 goalies who will have one good season then follow it up with a bad season. They’re both very inconsistent. Boston’s biggest problem though is their defence. They need to work on getting guys to replace their defensive defencemen. Cause Chara probably only has one or 2 years left and they just traded McQuaid. Their other guys are more offensive guys.

Sens are such a woefully run franchise at this point.

    Re: 2018 NHL Offseason Discussion

The Sharks are trading to the Senators center Chris Tierney, defenseman Dylan DeMelo and prospects Josh Norris and Rudolfs Balcers. The Sharks are also sending to Ottawa their 2020 first-round draft pick, their 2019 second-round draft pick and two conditional picks. If San Jose re-signs Karlsson, Ottawa receives a conditional 2021 second-round selection — or a first-round pick (not lottery protected) if the Sharks reach the Stanley Cup final in 2019.

Wow what a deal for the sharks. But those picks will be essential for the rebuild of the dumpster fire that is the ottawa senators
