If Emperors New Groove finishes top 3 and Oliver and Company doesn't even make the list I'm rioting the FujiFilm corporate offices.

Pretty certain the top 3 will be.. ENG, Aladdin and Lion King, in that order.

    And here's number three....

    3. The Emperor's New Groove - 160 Points (Gipper #1, Thundercat #2, Silk #3, EC #4, Jimmy King #4)

I honestly don't remember all that much about The Emperor's New Groove but it's clearly pretty beloved around here so that's cool. I guess I'll have to give it a re-watch at some point soon.

The top two will be revealed later this evening~!

I don't think I've seen any Disney animated movies newer than the first Toy Story.

What a great little underdog run for Emperor's New Groove. Very underappreciated upon release, I'm glad time is starting to recognize it. It's probably the funniest movie Disney's ever made.

Re: WC's Fave Five Disney Animated Films~!

Looking at what's come out in the top 10, it does seem to be heavily dominated by the last 25 years of Disney which is quite an interesting observation. I don't know whether that's nostalgia coming into play and people voting for films they remember watching on the big screen growing up, a genuine belief that the modern films are better than the classics or maybe even people haven't seen a lot of the older films. I can't complain on what the top two are going to be, A and LK would of made my top 5 for sure, but something like ENG finishing #3 just feels a little off, feels like a pretty forgettable movie in the studios history, I can't even recall one song from it. I think for sure something like Jungle Book and a few other classics would of been on my list.

It always blows my mind when I look at the release dates of some Disney films that I remember watching as a kid and see that something like Snow White was released BEFORE WORLD WAR II and quite a lot were 1940s. They're timeless.

Anyway, Mary Poppins is the greatest Disney film.

Well considering it's not a musical...

Doesn't need to be a musical to remember a song or piece of music from it. Surely it wasn't a film devoid of any music or singing; the cast listing has Eartha Kitt and Tom Jones, are you telling me they didn't sing in the movie?

It's not just the singing either, I can't remember any scenes or characters (other than the Emperor).

It has one big opening song that you'd probably remember the second you heard it (courtesy of Tom Jones, theme song guy) but no, Eartha Kitt doesn't do any singing. For the record I find it very memorable.

To be honest I dunno what's shocking about this list having a 1990-present tilt considering most of these are gonna be movies people grew up with and thus will have a generally stronger nostalgia pull than most of the lists we do.

The Emperor's New Groove coming in at #3 is one of the most surprising results I've ever seen in a Fave Five. Not that it's bad it just seems so out of place when looking at it with other Disney classics.

Can't believe the Emperor's New Groove made it that far. A rather forgetable and unremarkable entry in Disney's movie list.

Re: WC's Fave Five Disney Animated Films~!

Heading out for a little while and not sure when I'll be home so let's finish this up now...

    2. Aladdin - 250 Points (Mitch #1, stojy #1, EC #2, StylesofPunk #3, Wang Chung #3, BD22 #4, Shock #4, Jimmy King #5)

    and YOUR number one...

    1. The Lion King - 530 Points (BD22 #1, EC #1, Jimmy King #1, Lucha Bear #1, RED #1, StylesofPunk #1, Wolfs Rain #1, Dave #2, Jiggy #2, Shock #2, stojy #2, Mitch #4)

Not a big shock here, I always knew The Lion King was going to take the top spot and I can't argue with it or with Aladdin for that matter. Both are great and would have made my list if they hadn't been such overwhelming faves.

So with that our list is over and we're going to take a quick departure from movies and go on to another form of entertainment as it's that time of year where we decide our Fave Five WWE Superstars~! That list will be up tomorrow so start thinking about it and in the meantime I'd like to thank everyone who participated in this one. You're all the best.

Not surprised at all by the outcome for the top two. Both are deserving of being in the top two, imo.

    Excellent job as always Fuji.

No real surprise with the top 2, but I am surprised at how well Emperor's New Groove did. I know it's a great film but I didn't realize it was so loved.

Right film won. Legit contender for best animated film ever and original release falls bang in that nostalgia period mentioned earlier.

Really enjoyed this one, definitely some scope for a Disney Live Action list and I guess what would be an "other" Disney animated films list.

Definitely a brilliant top two and I could have justified a vote for either but I was confident they'd do fine without me. Always preferred Aladdin myself and I'm not kicking myself because it's clear my vote couldn't have pushed it to the top
